PowerSchool is the best I have used thus far. It is user-friendly, intuitive, all-inclusive, and it works. Compared to other systems, this one is the top of the line. **What do you dislike about PowerSchool eSchoolPlus?** There isn't much to dislike. I wish the IEP writing system blended better with the overall design. The grading system could also be more straightforward if there were one thing to consider improving, integrating a better IEP writing system and a better health system for the nurses. **Recommendations to others considering PowerSchool eSchoolPlus:** The setup can be daunting. Don't give up and follow each step in order. The result is worth the start-up difficulities. **What problems is PowerSchool eSchoolPlus solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed a system that was reliable, user friendly for all parties involved, including parents, nurses, teachers, and administration. It seems someone is constantly accidentally breaking something. They are not keeping up with the times and seem to be stuck 8-15 years in the past sometimes. **What problems is PowerSchool eSchoolPlus solving and how is that benefiting you?** It handles tracking all students, grades, and other relevant information in one database. I also liked the reporting tool Cognos that it used. Made it easy to create reports on the fly. **What do you dislike about PowerSchool eSchoolPlus?** When it was still eSchool Plus before the PowerSchool acquisition, the product was owned by Sungard K12, then was sold to another company, and finally ended with PowerSchool. I really like that I can send out mass emails to parents, or I can choose only to communicate with parents of certain classes. I also like that there is a parent portal option where parents can login to see students' grades and attendance. I really like that I can set up the gradebook to where student missing grades will automatically calculate as zeros. The gradebook has several features and can be set up multiple ways; it will do all of the calculating for you. **What problems is PowerSchool eSchoolPlus solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's a good student management system. It has helped me go paperless instead of recording all of the information in a book. It's also a great way for parents to stay on top of students' grades and is a great tool for easy communication since teachers can send out mass emails. ### 10. It gets a little confusing at times when looking at individual student information. The siblings of the student are not located on the main screen. It took months to learn how to access this. Also, printing rosters is not easy. **Recommendations to others considering PowerSchool eSchoolPlus:** Be sure that your trainers are highly qualified! Only works with IE. **Recommendations to others considering PowerSchool eSchoolPlus:** It is poorly designed - only two tiers, so it will not scale well unless you have tones of money for equipment. Was just purchased by PowerSchool - if they keep it I'll be surprised. They are saying it will be around for at least 7 years, but I can't see how that could possibly be cost effective long-term for the company. We've begun looking for an alternate solution ourselves. **What problems is PowerSchool eSchoolPlus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Does do an ok job of handling the scheduling and grading.
