"Easy-to-Use Funnel Tracking with Powerful Analytics"
What do you like best about PostHog?

I really like how we can create funnels and track events for almost all the activities a user can do on a website. The UI is also good and easy to work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PostHog?

Nothing much to add,I’m really happy with its analytics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Observability but Needs UI Improvements"
What do you like best about PostHog?

I find PostHog very good at observability, though I'm not sure if I'm making the most out of it right now. We used the session replays a lot, and it would be amazing to get session replays inside our M365 add-ins. The initial setup was pretty easy, and it's cool how PostHog can go through our codebase like Claude code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PostHog?

It's not user-friendly and it's hard to navigate. I don't really know how to set up a lot of things natively, just feels a little confusing. The UX is kinda shitty; we want to understand how to do things, how to observe things, and how to use the app really well, and that's kinda difficult. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Straightforward Onboarding, Complex Navigation"
What do you like best about PostHog?

I use PostHog for analytics on my product, specifically for session replays and capturing evidence on our open source package. I appreciate how the session replay feature helps us understand how users actually interact with our product and identify bugs or UI elements that may not be used as intended. The replays make it easy to see what users are doing on our platform, which is straightforward and insightful. Additionally, the initial setup and onboarding with PostHog were pretty easy and straightforward, which I find quite beneficial. There really isn't another solution that combines this ease of setup with a generous feature set. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PostHog?

The main feedback I have is that the PostHog platform is quite complex. I use it maybe once a week, and every time it takes me a while to figure out where the dashboards are. It's just frustrating because I end up losing a couple of seconds or minutes just trying to find where the data lives. There's just so much going on that I don't really need, and it frustrates me a bit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly Interface & Budget/Startup-Friendly, some API and MCP Setup Issues"
What do you like best about PostHog?

Peak is a very user-friendly platform, and I find it much easier to understand compared to Amplitude. I also appreciate the company culture. What stands out most for me is how budget-friendly it is—I haven't spent a single dollar so far, yet we've managed to set up a lot. I use it daily to monitor our web analytics, and right now I'm learning how to build out the entire product analytics structure for our product. Another feature I like is the ability to integrate with Stripe and simultaneously track our LLM's costs. It's also reassuring that Posthog provides customer support from people with technical expertise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PostHog?

Had problems setting up the API and MCP. Lost at first with the autocapture and the 100+ properties, but found my way to understand them after docs reading and talking with Max <3 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Makes understanding your users feel easy (and even fun)"
What do you like best about PostHog?

What I love about PostHog is how everything just makes sense once you start using it. It’s super intuitive and gives you full control over your data — no black boxes, no weird limits. I like how you can see what users are doing, run experiments, and track real impact, all in one place. It feels like a product built by people who actually care about improving products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PostHog?

At first, it can feel a bit overwhelming — there’s a lot you can do. But once you understand the basics, it becomes one of those tools you can’t imagine working without. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A powerful all-in-one analytics platform for product, developer and marketing teams."
What do you like best about PostHog?

This platform sets itself apart with its developer-friendly design and a broad array of features and products. I find the web analytics tools to be particularly strong, as they streamline campaign management and deliver valuable insights. The integration of Max AI is another standout for me; its context-aware capabilities often let me avoid wading through lengthy documentation and help me complete tasks more efficiently. However, the AI does occasionally make mistakes, which is to be expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PostHog?

While PostHog is powerful, the lack of deeper SQL-based dashboard customization makes it less accessible for non-technical users. Performance can occasionally lag when handling very large datasets, and I’d like to see further optimization and data visualization improvements in future updates. "Comprehensive Analytics with a Fun Twist"
What do you like best about PostHog?

I find PostHog easy to use, which makes things run smoothly for me. I really like their 'humor injected' style; it adds a fun element to the experience. The session recordings are immensely useful for analyzing user behavior. I also appreciate having everything in one place instead of bouncing between different SaaS. We switched from Amplitude because PostHog offers more things in the same place, not just analytics, and it has better overall pricing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PostHog?

We like self-hosting but the self-hosted license is too restrictive. We were expecting that PostHog is free if you self-host, but it's actually a tiny part of PostHog Cloud - makes it not viable. Seems more of a marketing play than an actual offer. The setup is fairly easy but could be improved, especially with the creation of events. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Generous Free Tier with Customizability but Mobile Needs Work"
What do you like best about PostHog?

I find PostHog's generous free tier and customizability to be standout features. It allows me to try it without any commitment and then decide if I want to pay or host it myself after seeing the value. The inclusion of feature flags and experimentation is a win for me. Additionally, the initial setup of PostHog was very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PostHog?

I find the mobile browser experience cumbersome, as many buttons can overlap, and trying to scroll can actually make you click unwanted buttons. Also, queries can take some time in the UI for both web and mobile. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great analytics tools for actionable business insights"
What do you like best about PostHog?

I absolutely love Posthog: seamless integration, extremely generous free tier, good UI, session recordings and in-depth data analysis that actually produce actionable insights.

Beyond my web design business, I'm also a Framer educator and recommend it to all my students.

Ps: you gotta love their creative branding! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PostHog?

There's a learning curve when you're starting out (just like with any analytics software), but I still find it easier to navigate than other solutions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Open Source, with Room for Doc Improvements"
What do you like best about PostHog?

I use PostHog for analyzing user behavior, collecting metrics, and seeing how many users use our site. I really like how easy it is to create dashboards, like funnels, and how everything is stored with a fast queryable database. The website design is amazing, and it's actually fast, so I don't have to wait 2 seconds for a page to load like with other big company pages. The documentation is quite good, and the fact that PostHog is open source is very, very important to me. Initial setup was also 10/10 easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PostHog?

Some small docs improvements, like the /docs/data/events page is a bit sparse. We create all the PostHog events server side, I feel like the docs on that part are a bit sparse. Maybe also more focus on tracing, can I store an ID in my db that corresponds with an event in PostHog? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
