It is used frequently to support all teams within the company. The built systems are easy to train others into for their specific roll and Plex was an easy implementation and integrate into the already existing manufacturing processes. Between the education platform and test mode options, it is easy to experiment and dive into undiscovered new functions of Plex. **What do you dislike about Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform?** The only tricky aspects of Plex I find is the configuration of new aspects. Understanding how different fields link together can be tricky when configuring new fields and aspects of the software. **What problems is Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Scheduling and inventory control systems help coordinate timing alignment between the different teams. Being in the new product development team, cross-departmental alignment is critical to the execution of our processes, and Plex manufacturing systems help aid that alignment. ### 4. It is a clous based solution so always accessible. Support will typically be very attentive to your cases. This can be overwhelming for new users - with a bit of training it is worth it though. The cost for small and medium size business may seem a bit high. Have noticed some issues with integrating plex with some legacy systems. Not having this causes many issues and can reduce efficiency. Quality control issues are easily managed in plex and help reduce waste and increase our customers satisfaction with us. ### 5. We don't have Plex Classic, we're on UX. So, even with a helpful community trying to answer our questions, sometimes their answer is "well that's how it worked on UX." **What problems is Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** By my understanding, what Plex has that our previous system did not, is a much greater ability to track each pallet of product, by their unique serial number, back to the creation of that product. ### 6. Ever since we became corperate and switched to Plex as a ERP system its changed the company direction and has lead to alot more structure and proccess control within our company. Its allowed us to hold our planners accountable for keeping a scheadule thats cohearent and reflects our orders, as well as allowing our purchasers to see incoming orders and previous material consumption and scrap rates to predict when and how much they need to order. Overall Plex has taken our company from a unorganized mess that was argubly loosing money with no way to track it to see for sure to being able to know exactly what is happening within our doors. **What do you dislike about Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform?** One thing I would say is bad about plex was the implimentation of it, While I was not directly involved in this process I saw how it affected the person in charge of it and how much training a everday employee required to be able to efficently use the software which lead to the first year or two not being very great for the company. There was alot of issues and alot of learning where issues would pop up and no one would know how to troubleshoot/fix the issue. **What problems is Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Its main benifits that ive seen from my postion was how it linked orders,procurement, production scheadule, etc. that was our main use for the ERP system and it revolutionized how we ran our company and while there was a learning curve now that everyones comfortable with it has become almost seemless with our flow of work. ### 7. Using all those screens separetly is time-consuming for one container. It can be a bit difficult at first to understand how the data is structured. But once you get a handle on it you can do some pretty good stuff. Once you get a ticket going and you get linked with a good support person. They are pretty responsive and have good amount of expertise. **What do you dislike about Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform?** This software seems to really like process flows that are able to be acheived in single operations. Or what I would a linear flow. If you product has multiple production flows it may be challanging. Its also not the best when you have a business model where you don't do any operations. Think 3rd party warehousing and distibution. Where your 3rd party uses a different ERP and you still need to ASN shipments. But not really a deal breaker. The integration if you don't take your time can be pretty rough but thats with any ERP. **What problems is Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Plex is being used to run our whole business less HR for the most part. So the main benefits are really having all things intergrated in. So you can see prodcution inventroy and the likes just by seeing the parts. And since we are trying to integrate as much as possible we get some better usage due to having more in the system. ### 11. EDI between customers and suppliers is handled in PLEX/iConnect, and the Document Control system being built in is a large value-add for us - these are things we would be paying for separately in the past. **What do you dislike about Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform?** Account management and support teams seem to have been downsized since the acquisition by Rockwell Automation. It seems like they reduced staff to become more attractive for purchase and then never really re-staffed the customer-facing departments. This has adversely affected getting problems solved or add-ons ordered, which has my ownership team asking questions about the long-term viability.. **What problems is Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our production reporting being done on the shop floor was a HUGE positive. We may not be "real-time" right now, but are working towards that end-goal. We can develop our own system within the Plex Cloud and be able to make impactful changes without rolling out updates to every PC. The ability to do this all on the cloud is a huge win for Plex. **What do you dislike about Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform?** Sometimes certain features that should be obvious just arent available for us. Certain issues with the SPC module and things that were simple in Plex classic are more difficult to use in UX **What problems is Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps us manage our processes and inventory, with a big highlight on traceability. We have been able to be incredibly detailed with our traceabiltiy and production control that we have been able to hold ourselves to <3% scrap years. It also prevents any consumption not on the BOM. People bought Plex as an ALL IN ONE solution. That was their competitive advantage. Now they are pushing you to third party software that takes time to integrate and then you have the cost of another software and something else to babysit. Plex needs to enhance the software they have instead of putting resources towards stuff a lot of companies don't need. Documentation is limited and provides little guidance on best practices. The documentation leaves you guessing and sometimes fumbling around just trying to get SOMETHING to work, never knowing if it is the best or easiest solution. It seems that it gets half-read and a quarter understood. We include steps to replicate issues and it seems like PLEX does not even attempt to recreate the issue. I rarely see evidence of them testing in our PCN. Also, I don't like that the green revision history book is not available everywhere in PLEX. Most of the stock reports either don't work or do not have the filters needed. All filters shouild be on all screens.
