I use Planview Portfolios for project management, financial management, capacity planning, and resource management. I like that it allows us to create and deliver meaningful dashboards and reporting. The versatility and ability to customize views and extract data, as well as manage all project details within one project entry, really stand out for me. I also appreciate the export feature and the status reporting, as they allow me to look at data in any way I want on the fly. I need help with roles and permissions, especially when a single user can have multiple roles. It's hard to set controls on what people can edit without updating roles and permissions for each user. User adoption is slow because most of our users, who are project managers, don't find it easy to use. We also want visibility of supplier-filled roles and there's a lack of a solution for SOW management within the tool. Without an SAP integration, managing actuals is painful. The interface is not user friendly and is challenging for Project Managers to use when managing a project plan. I have a lot of negative feedback from PMs about the interface for their work. I like Planview Portfolios for its scenario planning and what-if analysis engine. It's really valuable because it lets me test scenarios, like if our budget is cut by 15% or if a product launch is delayed by three months, and then show simulations for those scenarios. I think that the interface of the project could be improved. It's pretty spreadsheet heavy, and moving to a sleek, modern layout would be better. It should have fewer deep menu layers to reduce the number of clicks needed to make simple updates. Also, the setup process was quite challenging because, for a big company, it needs to integrate with existing corporate infrastructures like HR systems, and that's quite heavy work. Planview Portfolios allows me to leverage the data we collect into fact-based (data-driven) decisions for execution and investment. The success we’ve experienced with Portfolios has transformed our understanding and helped us expand our perspective from the portfolio level to the enterprise level (a collection of many portfolios) for strategic portfolio management. I dislike the difficulty that we experience moving data into Portfolios. We have overcome this by using Project, which permits ingestion of the Data.
