The ease with which it communicates with other Planning Center modules, the cost, and the support team! There is no substitute for using Planning Center for your church management database. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing. Anytime that I have an issue, the support team is there to help. Most of the time they have my issue resolved in less than an hour, and if it takes longer than that it is because it is a very rare issue. They have never let me down, and take feature requests for improvement very seriously. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Scheduling members for services, coordinating events, automating background checks, and managing small groups are all great features we use regularly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The cost scales fairly quickly, though the features are worth it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love that Planning Center People is a one-stop shop for our church database. It allows me to pull data from a wide array of data sets and create my own rules when necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Planning Center People takes quite a bit of time to get set up to use it to its full extent. The "List" tab which allows you to run your data based off of rules can get very confusing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We can do pretty much everything we need to in Planning Center: planning worship services (the original), data management, groups management, giving, communication, calendar and building management, event sign up... it pretty much does it all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish that Planning Center had a "Daily Digest" email feature that would send folks a daily round up of what happened on Church Center that day. That would pretty much make it perfect for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Planning Center People has become our database for all things at the church. Every department in our church uses this consistently. We track EVERYTHING in this program. I don't know where we would be without it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I guess my biggest complaint would be how long it can take to export a PDF of a list. For instance, if I wanted to make a list of everybody who had attended a Wed night class last year, it can take up to 20 minutes sometimes to email me a PDF or excel doc of the list. I am the pastor of a church of less than 75 people and the balance is always figuring out what the best use of my time will be and how much technology to integrate. Planning Center People is designed to be simple and helpful even if it is used for minimal purposes. My favorite portion is actually how easy it is to integrate with Checkr background checks in order to stay up to date with our volunteers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Because of the amount of time I have to devote to it, I have yet to go in-depth into everything that is offered to us. With more time I would like to take advantage of more aspects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best thing I like about Planning Center People is that it is super easy to create tags and group people into specific teams. For Sunday services, I have an AV Team, Vocalists, Band, and Livestream with multiple people who rotate from week to week. Planning Center People helps me schedule specific people within each service template and email/text them as a reminder. Additionally, they can either confirm or decline their scheduled notification which in turn notifies me of their availability to serve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the things that I do not like about Planning Center People is that I cannot link attachments to emails when I am contacting my teams. I would love this functionality to be added. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The program has plenty of flexibility to customize options that make organization simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Running reports take a bit to get used to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Includes any information essential for church databases. It also works seamlessly with other Planning Center apps. Easy to navigate, and the interface is much easier to understand than other Planning Center apps. Workflows also allows keeping track of people when wanting to follow up on communication, send welcomes to first-time guests, and extra church events. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There isn't much to add as a downside. People would be best for a more advanced database tool, so if a church is looking for a more straightforward tool, this might be a little overkill. However, this tool could also open a lot of new options for a church that they may find helpful! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

People give us a location to organize all of our volunteers and attendees in one place. We can input all the information that we can retrieve from those willing to share it. Then whether we need that info for services or check-ins it is there are ready. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish there was a way for mass messaging from the People software for events or anything else needed. Also, a better way of customizing reports throughout the Planning Center software would be helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
