Anytime that I have an issue, the support team is there to help. Most of the time they have my issue resolved in less than an hour, and if it takes longer than that it is because it is a very rare issue. They have never let me down, and take feature requests for improvement very seriously. **What problems is Planning Center People solving and how is that benefiting you?** We previously used a database management software that was cumbersome and difficult for lay-people to use. We have many volunteers that help with our church, and this has made it easy for them to understand where to find the information they need. Our staff is also able to complete more of the database tasks because it is so simple to use and understand. Plus, using this in combination with other PCO products is very powerful to keep all of our tools and resources aligned in one system. ### 4. That would pretty much make it perfect for us. **What problems is Planning Center People solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps us keep our folks' information up to date and helps us understand folks involvements via lists and stuff. ### 6. Every department in our church uses this consistently. We track EVERYTHING in this program. I don't know where we would be without it. **What do you dislike about Planning Center People?** I guess my biggest complaint would be how long it can take to export a PDF of a list. For instance, if I wanted to make a list of everybody who had attended a Wed night class last year, it can take up to 20 minutes sometimes to email me a PDF or excel doc of the list. **What problems is Planning Center People solving and how is that benefiting you?** It keeps everything centralized. Planning Center People is designed to be simple and helpful even if it is used for minimal purposes. My favorite portion is actually how easy it is to integrate with Checkr background checks in order to stay up to date with our volunteers. **What do you dislike about Planning Center People?** Because of the amount of time I have to devote to it, I have yet to go in-depth into everything that is offered to us. For Sunday services, I have an AV Team, Vocalists, Band, and Livestream with multiple people who rotate from week to week. Planning Center People helps me schedule specific people within each service template and email/text them as a reminder. Additionally, they can either confirm or decline their scheduled notification which in turn notifies me of their availability to serve. **What do you dislike about Planning Center People?** One of the things that I do not like about Planning Center People is that I cannot link attachments to emails when I am contacting my teams. One of the best features about Planning Center People is that you can look at the schedule history of each person and determine how often you want them to be scheduled. People would be best for a more advanced database tool, so if a church is looking for a more straightforward tool, this might be a little overkill. Also, a better way of customizing reports throughout the Planning Center software would be helpful. **Recommendations to others considering Planning Center People:** Just be sure that you have all of the informatioin beforehand because it is harder to go back and gather all of that information afterward. **What problems is Planning Center People solving and how is that benefiting you?** We can keep everyone's information in one secure location, and when needed, it is easily accessed no matter the person's place. I like the workspace and the ability for people to fill out forms that then can add tasks to a staff member's tasklist. **What do you dislike about Planning Center People?** It does not link cleanly with the other platforms like groups, registration, and such. When I put in a form linked to a registration event, it does not connect to the people database. It often creates duplicates not registering that the person already exists. **What problems is Planning Center People solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to have our whole church database in one place. Whenever someone asks about someone in the church and we don't have their number in our phones, we always have been able to find it on people. ### 14. But it is also a great app in its own right. You can create lists based on different criteria to find specific people or groups. We also like workflows to ensure every person goes through the same process (for example, we make a phone call to new visitors and schedule a visit the week after they come). **What do you dislike about Planning Center People?** PC's way of handling duplicates. It basically creates a new contact unless first name, last name, and email are exactly the same. It is a problem for us because in Colombia, many people have two names (and everyone has 2 last names), so when they submit a form, they can choose between many different (but valid) combinations. For example, a guy could enter "Carlos Guzmán", "Carlos Andrés Guzmán", or "Andrés Guzmán" (if he wrote his second last name, you'd have other 3 options) in a form and Planning Center will always create a different profile. This may not be an issue for many countries, but it is a big problem for us. The problem also happens when you import people from a spreadsheet. Another problem is that there is no way to either bulk merge or delete contacts. You need to do it one by one, and it takes a lot of time. We reached a point in which cleaning the database is so expensive that it is not worth it. So we chose the lesser of two evils and have a very faulty database with thousands of duplicate contacts. **What problems is Planning Center People solving and how is that benefiting you?** Even with a faulty database as ours, the pros outweigh the cons and it is definitely better than having everything on several spreadsheets (as we used to have). It is easy to update information (people can do it themselves) and it gives us a great deal of useful information of our people and their interactions with our church. ### 15. It was easy to setup and the struggling user could navigate it pretty easily. All permission based. **What do you dislike about Planning Center People?** I haven't found anything yet in this module, except for a couple of preference tweaks in custom tabs. The best part it is really easy to use and teach others who struggle with technology. I have seniors using the system and they can actually navigate it no problem. ### 17. It's fairly simple to learn. They also provide plenty of documentation to learn how to use it. It's very user-friendly. You don't have to go through several steps to get the information you want. Aside from profile management, People also provides Forms where you can collect all sorts of information. Lists allow you to find a specific group of people. Workflows, which are great for moving people "down the pipeline" or passing individuals on to the next staff member who need to do something with their information, are also very efficient. **What do you dislike about Planning Center People?** Adding a new household seems "choppier" than it should be. It seems to take several different steps to update all of the information for each individual. I'm not fond of the fact that when you change an individual's contact info, that individual receives an email that their information has changed. **Recommendations to others considering Planning Center People:** Give it time. If you are switching from other data management software, it may take you some time to get used to and love PCO. **What problems is Planning Center People solving and how is that benefiting you?** Planning Center People helps us keep all of our data in one place. We use it for our congregation to fill out "connection cards" where they communicate with us. Using that information, we can filter people through Workflows so they don't get "lost." Someone gets notified that they need to follow up with visitors, those who have counseling needs, along with prayer requests. We use Lists to filter out groups of people...all male members who need to be emailed about an event, parents of children in specific grades, so they can be notified about upcoming children's ministry, etc. We can keep track of who is interested in serving in particular areas so when there is a need, we know who to contact. ### 20. It’s easy to use system and integrate well with the rest of the planning center family of products I highly recommend it. **What do you dislike about Planning Center People?** Because of its excellent integration with planning center registrations in Check-Ins etc. sometimes it will create duplicate entries of people however it does have a great system in reviewing duplicates to make sure this does not become a problem. **Recommendations to others considering Planning Center People:** We have found that especially during a season in which we cannot meet face-to-face in many ways with our people we needed an excellent data management software that could create workflows of care and support for our people. Planning center people has provided exactly that. One of my favorite things about this platform is that it allows us to create different lists of people that can be exported into other platforms. We have used PCP as a directory of sorts. Within each persons' profile, we are able to create households that allow us to better understand the families and people that are a part of our environment, which in turn helps us to better serve them. We've really enjoyed the forms and workflow tab section of Planning Center People. Having the ability to collect data the way PCP allows us to, has helped us to transition out of outdated platforms that do not allow the flexibility that PCP does. Workflow is probably one of the better parts of Planning Center People; being able to go back to profiles/persons that are at specific stages, and refer to the notes that you are able to attach allows us to handle any open ended tasks with efficiency. **What do you dislike about Planning Center People?** One oversight of PCP seems to be that duplicate profiles are created without hinderance. We've used this platform to check people in, and for some reason, this allows for a creation of duplicate profiles, rather than the selection of existing persons. It is a weekly task to go through and delete or merge duplicate profiles, and perhaps even consolidate updated contact information. Another dislike is that there does not seem to be a batch action option for updating profile details; if we have to update a list's addresses, it seems to be a manual task. **Recommendations to others considering Planning Center People:** My recommendations for Planning Center People, would be that the team that is planning to use it, take the correct measures to train in each area of Planning Center. Each level of permission can provide or takeaway the efficiency that is so well loved, and it is better that each user actually knows how to use this platform. There are a lot of options and ways to track data, and when you discover there is more, it can get overwhelming. Take time to train before going live. **What problems is Planning Center People solving and how is that benefiting you?** This may not be the most obvious benefit, but Planning Center People's allowance of exporting lists has been helpful in numerous scenarios. While we have used PCP's mass emailing, we have also had to export lists/names to send messages through other lines of communication -- PCP made the process quick and painless to do so. This has solved the problem that often comes with mass communication (time, efficiency, clarity). Another problem that has been solved with Planning Center People, is that when our company needs to collect date, sending the forms that we create has shortened the feedback timeline. Along with that, the workflow we may assign to the form allows us to keep track of where individuals are for event specific data. ### 24.
