I use Planning Center Calendar to help our congregation know about upcoming events. I like that it provides one central space to house all event info, which is accessible to everyone involved at our church and even those just interested. The clean look is also appealing. I particularly like the integration with other Planning Center products and the ability to embed the calendar directly on our website, which saves me from updating both the site and calendars separately. Connecting events to specific Planning Center groups is another feature I enjoy, as it provides quick access to information and involvement for our church members. The initial setup was very easy. First off the name changed to Planning Center Calendar this year from Planning Center Resources. This software is very user-friendly. If you know anything about navigating a database, you can probably figure it out without any training, but they also offer a wide selection of video tutorials and documents to help, plus a fairly quick email response channel. Their reporting system could use a little upgrade. It does an amazing job of reporting on any custom or installed field, but adjusting the feilds and layout would be most helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Registrations is nice but it’s often confusing for users to navigate. The log in is confusing...it’s easy to create multiple accounts that doesn’t capture all the users data over time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We very recently started using planning center resources which is now called planning center calendar. We love the approval system that is built into Calendar for the request thing of different rooms and resources. This allows us to select different staff members and approval groups per event. Setting up planning center calendar in the resources that you will need will take some time. I think that was our largest hurdle and why it took us so long to implement it. But if you take the time on the front end to really create the system that you were looking for within planning center calendar it will go a long way to help your staff and team. Some of the features like notes and event details are a little hard to find and have too many ways to input the same information, often times information gets scrambled up or duplicated that doesn't need to be there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I LOVE PC Resources! I love that every member of my team can add their own events to the calendar and wait for approval. It doesn't stop with one person always having to be asked "What's available on the calendar?" Everyone in the organization has access to the calendar and can see what we have coming up. I dislike that you can't see the resources you need for each room - the details - one the front screen. You have to click thru three or four difference screens just to see all the notes people leave.
