## Pigment Reviews
  ### 1. A powerful tool to analyze data and produce reporting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex H. | Management control, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

Pigment can integrate a large quantity of data and analyze them quickly based on what we want to see. Pigment is quite easy to understand but requires some time if you're not used to deal with this kind of tool. As it is a quite new solution, Pigment is always evolving and offering new features.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

For now, Pigment is only in English, meaning that every article/topic published in the Pigment Community is in English and can sometimes be hard to understand. However, the integration could be done in French.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pigment helps us get rid of multiple excel files and produce more accurate reporting with a lower risk of mistakes. Once fully integrated, Pigment is a time saver for controlling and enables the team to spend less time on data integration and more time on data analyze.

  ### 2. Powerful and flexible Planning & Reporting Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

Pigment is a flexible and reliable tool that allows real-time reporting and modeling. It is our single source of truth for data. During the implementation, the team from Pigment put a lot of effort into ensuring the process was as smooth as possible, and we get the best results from Pigment. The pigment team is very responsive to our feedback and new feature requests. Pigment 'forces' you to organize and clean your data in other systems so it will all work together. Very easy to import data and integrate it with other systems.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

The beginning of the implementation wasn’t easy because it required learning a whole new language: formulas, aggregation rules etc’…however, the team from pigment did everything they could to make the process much easier and explain the processing logic behind the formulas and rules.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pigment helps us consolidate the data and process much faster and more reliably than excel spreadsheets. It eliminates inconsistent spreadsheets and allows several teams to work simultaneously on the budget. The fact that each leader can feed their own budget/forecast in the system makes the process more efficient and eliminates the number of errors.

  ### 3. Great tool for planning and automation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

A very user-friendly tool for users, which ensures good adoption across the business. Loads of great features and potential, especially with AI coming soon.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

Interface and tools for developers could be more user friendly, this would allow more business users to start modelling

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automation of reporting and month end financial close; data governance

  ### 4. FP&A Manager - Novo

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jackie M. | FP&A Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

Pigment has help us streamline our FP&A processes. It has helped with our financial planning, forecast, and automate reporting.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

As we continue to implement Pigment, we currently do not have any downsides.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pigment is helping us maintain one source of truth for all of our financial metrics, KPIs, expenses, and headcount. Pigment's integrations with other systems have helped us streamline our workforce planning and expense approval process.

  ### 5. No more spreadsheets!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucy H. | Financial controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

So far my favorite features are;

- Flexibility: It's such a powerful tool, the formulas allow you the flexibility to build and create whatever you need in a dynamic way. Data imports directly from ERP/Google sheets that allow for real-time reporting.

- Onboarding: The team has been so helpful, having only used excel previously the implementation was a little daunting but their patience and effort have made it so much easier. Always open to helping with different use cases, for different audiences. They have gone above and beyond!

- New features: They listen to feedback and are constantly releasing new features, addressing requests from customers.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

- Some features lacking for ease of use on repetitive tasks like formatting and templates. They have been super responsive with previous requests, so I'm sure fixes are on the way.

- It's a new system and a new way of thinking so it takes time to understand how everything integrates and learn the formulas. Like any new implementation, it's necessary to have the resources and time internally to prioritize learning and set up.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pigment has replaced our excel spreadsheets for month-end consolidation, metrics/KPIs reporting. We're in the process of converting our forecasting/budgeting.

  ### 6. I wouldn't call it Pigment, I would call it a MUST-HAVE for STRATEGIC FINANCE and FP&A teams!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lorenzo B. | Strategy & Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

- User interface and look-and-feel of the platform
- Flexibility around data management and data enhancing exercise
- Can act easily as a single source of truth for data from various sources (SFDC, Netsuite, Personio, etc.)

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

- Implementation requires a steep learning curve that requires many hours of additional work (in addition to hours spent with the Solutions Architect team)
- Formulas, aggregation rules and language can sometimes be different vs. Excel, hence it requires additional hours spent on "building mode" to get enough proficiency and confidence
- A plus point is that as soon as you start gaining confidence with formulas and aggregation, you start realizing the true potential of the platform and how easier, faster and less error-prone it is compared to Excel

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Less time spent on cleaning and aggregating data
- Less time spent on creating outputs and charts
- Less time in making changes to spreadsheets and making sure data is always updated across many files (with the risk of losing data)
- More collaboration, inputs and visibility across teams

  ### 7. Elegant tool, powerful capabilities, and overall amazing user experience.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris H. | Senior Manager, Corporate Finance & Systems, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

Our initial use case was for Finance & Strategy, particularly with expense and headcount planning. Four features stood out that make Pigment unique and set it apart from the competition:
1. Efficiency - Pigment makes the most use of its workspace by not allocating memory to sparse cells, allowing us to focus more on building and enabling users and not worry about workspace overages or constraints
2. Flexibility - How builders utilize dimensions in Pigment is incredibly flexible, and there are endless use cases for how this impacts the building experience
3. Community - Pigment has a rich community of users and product leaders that help enable us daily to improve our modeling skills
4. Agility - Pigment is constantly releasing new features that enhance the product, and it is amazing to see our suggestions/feedback convert to changes in real time!

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

We're well aware Pigment is an evolving product that will change over time. As it stands right now, Pigment does not have all the features that we would like to have in our environment, but we know they are well on their way! Some desired features include a model reversion capability, dynamic user actions and processes, and copy formatting automation. The good news is that we've seen how fast new releases come out and are always in contact with the Pigment team on new feature requests!

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're currently building our entire financial plan in Pigment and are enabling users to build expense and headcount plans in a decentralized fashion. We've learned that users have a lot of capability and flexibility to use the tool, and this helps our leaders build the planning muscle needed to effectively run the organization. We are also seeing the benefits of having the granularity in the app to drill into transaction-level detail while also having the capability to roll up the details into boards that our leaders can see and use.

  ### 8. Very agile and forward thinking product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liliya B. | FP&A, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

The team is not afraid of challenging themself and more importantly listen to their customer needs, the upgrades are comming fast and with very little bugs, which is great!

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

May be as it is very new product there is lack of implementation partners, which should change in future.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Real time team collaboration and big data manipulation are only few.

  ### 9. Finance Analyst

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lukas P. | FP&A Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

It's flexibility and quickness to build complex pivot tables quickly and be able to add calculations on top of it.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

Formulas and its examples could be improved within the app. Documentation in the forum is excellent, though.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaboration between different finance teams. Data allignement and one source of data framework.

  ### 10. A new solution facilitating your follow-up, forecasting and analysis.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maxime T. | Financial Planning Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

A really nice environment, easy to handle. A team dedicated to the solution and constantly improving the tool according to the feedbacks.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

Maybe more connections with other tools (even if you are improving this aspect with for example a connection with GGsheet).
Access rights are really hard to put in place.

**Recommendations to others considering Pigment:**

Don't be affraid to change your habits (Excel most of the time), Pigment will facilitate your forecasts

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to put in place and mostly to update our business indicators. Also to share them to other departments thanks to the access rights.
When the modeling phase is done, the follow-up and the analysis are quicker and easier to create.
The boards are very interesting and convenient to share our business updates. We feel more comfortable with the data we are sharing.

  ### 11. A+ Business Partners

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

The Pigment team have been business partners in the truest sense. They've met us where we are, and helped find creative and timely solutions to our specific needs.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

Not much to dislike. The implementation has been at a steady pace. The learning curve is real, but with the guidance of our team and a solid support plan we're working through the humps.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pigment is helping us more tightly manage our forecasting processes, up and down the P&L. It's helping us manage our payroll costs, our revenue report, and automating our BvA reports, to name a few.

  ### 12. Pigment is a powerful and highly flexible spreadsheet replacement tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicolas B. | FP&A Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

The ease of building in Pigment compared to the spreadsheets documents. The formulas are straightforward, and the drill-down feature makes it very easy for our finance team deep dive into any figures. Also, the history feature where you can view any change has been incredibly useful to increase our security. What we appreciate the most is that the Pigment team is involved in collecting its customer feedback, meaning that the tool is constantly evolving and enhancing the solutions to match the market's needs.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

As all EPM on the market, it requires to change our work habits to build reports and analyses, which leads makes it difficult to onboard business users. The tool would also benefit from including templates, as it is sometimes confusing to start a new project from scratch

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently, Pigment helps our finance team to solve many problems, including consolidating disparate FP&A and Budget processes, eliminating inconsistent spreadsheets, and bringing together various planning groups. We plan to add new use cases in the future (HR reports, business analyses) that we'll share with nearly all business functions.

  ### 13. Successful Pigment Implem, B2B SAAS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Troels V. | Sales Ops Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

Having recently gone through an implementation of pigment for capacity/pipeline/HC planning, my favorite aspects are:

- Excellent onboarding and assistance in setting up our instance of pigment.
- The pigment team is very responsive to our feedback and new feature requests.
- Pigment makes it a breeze to create and model many different scenarios as we went through our planning cycle. Hence we are able to model many more scenarios in each planning cycle.
- Pigment 'forces' you to organize your formulas and dimensions so that they always work together.
- It's easier for sales team management to model their own scenarios and understand the assumptions behind their own targets.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

Looking forward to having some templates pre-built in pigment. That will speed up the implementation.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pigment helps our planning be much more flexible. We can model many more scenarios, with greater variation, than when planning in spreadsheets. Pigment also helps us broaden our planning, to encompass more areas of the business than just sales. It's a common platform where we can tie together the planning for multiple teams more easily than with multiple spreadsheets.

  ### 14. The tool that finance leaders were waiting for

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura C. | Finance Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

The fact that Pigment enables multiple dimensions makes it super powerful: it pushes scenario analyses to the next level. On top, there is no possible comparison with excel in terms of all the collaborative aspects.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

Even if the UX is really intuitive and pleasable, handling the tool requires some investment, especially if you do not have a technical background. Being an excel master helps a lot but is not enough ;)

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Everything goes faster than excel. It would take ages in excel to modelize all the scenarios the same way that Pigment does (and you would actually not be able to achieve the same result).
Sharing information is also much simpler.

  ### 15. The tool is very slick and amazing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

Pigment allows us to create 3 financial statements and our full suit of reporting if we desire. The tool does not have any limitation

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

There are some learning curves to the tool and syntax. However, once you get through the hurtle it's less intimidating.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping our team build three financial statements, an operating plan, and revenue forecasting. It benefits us by having a structure and tool that connect to our data sources.

  ### 16. Amazing tool for creating and controlling the Budget!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maria E. | FP&A Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

1) Flexibility for creating the budget in the way you want [nothing pre-modeled, it is a "clean sheet"]
2) Scenarios management
3) Adding a new item to a dimension

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

I think charts can be improved significantly, both with more options and in the "design" of the chart. Also, boards are a bit "stiff", for instance, you can't add pictures/icons.

**Recommendations to others considering Pigment:**

i) Spend a lot of time designing your solution
ii) Try to make it fit in one app (otherwise the access rights management will be more complicated)

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Pigment, we were able to create from scratch our Budget, especially for SG&A and to monitor real-time the total amount. It also democratized access to information, meaning that everyone had access to the same set of information.

  ### 17. Pigment is a very well-designed planning tool that combines flexibility and power!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eda K. | Senior FP&A Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

- Quick implementation with amazing support from the Pigment Expert Modeller & CSM

 - Flexibility on the data imports & integrations with different systems

 - Powerful planning and computation with unlimited dimensions and intuitive formulas

 - Easy audit options via changelogs, dependency diagrams and drill-downs

 - Adding new features based on the customer feedback

 - User-friendly interface with collaborative features like comments

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

- Some simplification is needed for the access rights

 - Aggregation function needs to be improved with the dimensionality

 - Missing the export functionality to Google Sheet

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Granular planning / forecasting with multiple dimensions and scenarios

 - Replacing multiple Google Sheets for internal reporting with Pigment Boards

 - Reporting automation & frequent updates via integrations

  ### 18. Top of Flexibility & Agility for FP&A

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicolas L. | Head of Finance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

- Quite an intuitive formula language compared to other tools - very easy to ramp up from Excel/Ggsheet to Pigment
- Calculation power & speed, even when crossing many heavy dimensions
- Data imports & connectors are quite easy to set-up and use, even between Pigment Apps (live link between HR model & Topline model for instance)
- Very useful features when beginning on the tool (dependency diagram, formula playground, metrics duplication, formula history, etc)
- Best Support, CSM & Product team on the market: fast answers to tickets, open product feedback culture. It's very pleasant to take part in the product evolution

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

- Some improvements are needed on a few features (access rights, filters, boards design not always optimal/flexible)
- Tables/Boards formatting is good looking, but not so flexible so far
- Training material was too conceptual and not operational enough (at least the end-2021 vintages)

However => each time there is something to fix/improve, the team is either VERY reactive to fix it, or always suggests a workaround until it's fixed!

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're currently handling all our reporting, quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes in Pigment. These include very (very!) detailed models (HR, Topline, Opex & Cash).
We could have never done that in a spreadsheet, not to that level of granularity. We're cutting production time by at least 50% with such a tool, and increasing our analysis capabilities to the same extent.

Flexibility is also key: we're able to integrate a newly acquired company within 2 hours in Pigment (vs much much more in a spreadsheet).

  ### 19. Clean to use and flexible platform that can scale organizational reporting and planning

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Montaek K. | Senior Associate, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

- Easy to link data across sources and reference multiple dimensions within one's data
- Multiple methods to import and map data quickly
- Fantastic onboarding experience and partners to enable users to leverage the software effectively
-Extremely fast platform which can handle large data sets
- Flexiblity in modelling is not sacrificed

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

- Challenges in the platform related to circularity constrain some methodologies one can apply for forecasting and long-range planning
- No ability to rate-limit queries when testing some calculations on a large data set

**Recommendations to others considering Pigment:**

Truly feels like a modern planning platform

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Cross org visibility into finances and performance
- Greater depth in data analysis and flexibility to cut data/results in multiple ways
- Saving days off our close processes

  ### 20. Seeing value in areas pretty quickly.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

I like the functionality of the data import structures and being able to set up standard imports based on our files from our source systems.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

I find the syntax language to be a bit more confusing than I was expecting.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to quickly parse data into different views while trusting that there are no formulaic errors that could cause incorrect data to be shown.

  ### 21. Pigment, an insightful and user-friendly tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Camille M. | FP&A Revenue Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

Having a single source of truth that is very user-friendly for modelers and final users. For finance teams, Pigment is an easy way to run reforecast and audit your business.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

Some visualization features are still in development or on the roadmap but Pigment's team is very reactive and is constantly looking for improvements, the product will become even more powerful.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Two main problems solved for my team (finance): (1) no need to maintain several Google Sheets that are not linked in real-time, minimizing the risk or error and (2) spending time on visualization and formula update

  ### 22. Intuitive design & great implementation team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

Coming from an SAP background, Pigment provided all the materials to scale up on learning and navigating the system.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

Haven't seen many downsides yet. Initially if you have an enterprise ERP background, it can be hard to grasp the elements of dimensionality.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pigment provides a dynamic view of our spend and enables us to build out custom layouts and reports for our internal business partners.

  ### 23. Pigment = Most Powerful Modeling Tool + Best Implementation Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

As a tool, Pigment shines where Excel, Google Sheets, Anaplan, Planful, Adaptive Insights, and other tools do not.

It's an open playground with only as much structure as is needed to ensure data hygiene and model integrity. In this playground, you can build any data relationships and calculations you might need to model, plan, and report. The formulas are familiar enough for those of us who have used Excel for most of our careers, but they are up-leveled in terms of dimensionality that Excel can't match.

The Pigment Implementation and Success team is also phenomenal; the attention to detail and white-glove treatment during the implementation was in stark contrast to other system implementations I've led. They provide an ideal environment to learn the tool, which is crucial, versus them building everything for you. I never felt as though I was a bother, though I sent endless questions their way as I flipped our data around inside blocks and tables. The responses from Benjamin and Tania were always thoughtful, accurate, and kept us driving toward even better ways to model our business.

Pigment's Product team is also keenly listening to their customers and rolling out new features with lightning speed; each time I found myself asking for a new feature the answer was: "We're working on that, it should be out next month." Lo and behold, when the next month came so did the promised feature improvement along with things I didn't even know I wanted yet.

Overall we were immensely pleased and emphatically recommend Pigment to peer companies.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

There is a learning curve that you have to be willing to climb. It's neither good nor bad, it just is.

The world of Finance, and especially startup Finance/FP&A is dominated by Excel. Pigment runs circles around Excel, but it will take institutions and investors time to recognize the tool.

In the meantime, it will be necessary to have "thin" models in Excel that can be sent to external parties who don't have the time or resources to learn Pigment as a user. This dual-maintenance adds some complexity, but the tradeoffs in model hygiene and complexity that you gain from using Pigment are well worth it.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're able to quickly model novel scenarios with a few additional blocks, versus a day or more of building something from scratch in Excel. It's easier to standardize inputs and outputs because the block structure maintains data governance in a way Excel can't.

We're also able to provide our leadership with sandboxes where they can adjust inputs to our model and see, in real-time, rich tables and charts to prioritize objectives with full financial context.

Overall we're able to produce more robust models, in less time, with better delivery mechanisms than any other tool or combination of tools.

  ### 24. Pigment - i saw the tool at my old employer and recommended it to my new team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saba A. | Corporate controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

Best piece is the Ease of use of the product. The team has been great to work with. Wade and jeff are amazing.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

No ready to use reports. This should be an essential feature. I should be able to load my data in and pull out ready-to-use SEC/Management reports.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we have just started on the journey of forecasting and budgeting,

  ### 25. Sleek interface that has many capabilities, but the learning curve is a factor to consider.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

Once data is imported and blocks are built, the flexibility within the platform to build interactive models is solid

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

It is a young product so a lot of features are still being rolled out

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Operating plan and revenue analysis

  ### 26. A new way of thinking your financial planning and reporting!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elodie T. | Contrôleur de gestion, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

I appreciate the design of the app and how flexible it can be for our business (for example adding another country or segment). It enables us to reduce considerably the time spent on each file for our reporting and budgeting processes.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

Pigment is a young company, so some features are not exactly available as we would want them to be (for example the axes on a combined chart are not as perfect as on an Excel file, or the color palette for charts is limited). However, the developing team is constantly working on improving the app and each week there are many new features aiming at correcting these little troubles!

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Excel, we had to multiply the files in order to produce the expecting result, and some of them are too big to be operating properly. With Pigment, we can increase our productivity as we only have to import the data once in a block which is linked to many others.

  ### 27. Solves a lot of modeling problems

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sevinj A. | Senior Financial Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

I like the tool because it provides the users with a single source for planning & modeling and makes it easy to adjust and complete models and manage communication with the respective users.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

The tool is great, so the only problem I can think of is the complexity of formulas, but I guess it can be resolved after a user gains enough experience on how Pigment works.

**Recommendations to others considering Pigment:**

Definitely recommend it to Finance teams

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Modeling, creating different versions/scenarios of the models we have, building direct integrations (so that we do not update our models manually) and etc. Pigment helped us to remove a lot of manual routine work we had before.

  ### 28. Excel Expert, beginner of planification tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thanh-Hien P. | FP&a, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

It is live. Every inputs from me or my operationals counterparts have an impact on each other Board

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

Access right is not always clear and I wish that the screen of the Board to be more adaptive

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No need to update every new inputs

  ### 29. Pigment is a next-gen EPM tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

The software is flexible, dynamic and interconnected
Integrations take minutes
Trainings and self-service modules are very well done
Services team is extremely knowledgeable and accommodating

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

Requires a fairly heavy up-front time investment

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's reducing the amount of manual work done in spreadsheets and thus reducing risk of errors
It will assist in our reporting and improve cross-functional collaboration
It is connecting our various systems to ensure the right data is easily accessible

  ### 30. The most flexible tool ever

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Florian G. | FP&A Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

The infinite possibilities you have in building models and the excellent support team.

The UI is also very friendly compared to other tools on the market that provide similar features.

Pigment is also a young company meaning that the company will keep growing and provide more and more features to its clients.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

I think some basic templates are lacking. The downside of having such a flexible tool is that you need to build every single thing from scratch. Pigment should implement in the device some primary use cases for reporting or budgeting that are common to most companies to gain some time. These use cases would then be adapted to the specifities of the company. This would be very time-saving.

**Recommendations to others considering Pigment:**

Pigment is a very flexible tool to build reportings, forecasts, and scenarios. The main downside is that everything needs to be made from scratch, so that the implementation might take some time. However, once it is up and running, the boards available in the tool are beneficial. It allowed us to incorporate more people into our budgeting process more efficiently.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Pigment, we are solving TBH features that we had trouble following.

We also were able to add multiple dimensions to our reportings easily, while it would have been very time-consuming to do on excel.

Finally, we were also able to do versionning of our budgets and forecasts more efficiently compared to having multiple excel files in each of our processes.

  ### 31. Great software, very user friendly and amazing support from Pigment team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clémentine E. | Financial controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

The coaching from Pigment team, who were very helpful for our questions during the whole building phase, and even after.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

Some features still need to be improved, but the Pigment team really takes into account our suggestion, which is very appreciable

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

-> Real-time financial reporting
-> Financial planification streamlining
-> Give ownership to managers of different departments
-> Helps steering the business performance

  ### 32. Extremely flexible tool, fast/efficient implementation, fun user experience, excellent support team

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

Flexibility; friendly user experience; history tracker, great for FP&A analysis, possible control of data access for different users, fast/great performance

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

Unique logic to build metrics (it has its own formulas and logic that are very different from Excel/Google Sheets/SQL)

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Planning/forecasting fast, flexibly, with fun user experience, multiple scenarios and the possibility of comparing them. Excellent for FP&A routines.

  ### 33. Powerful tool and a handy replacement to google sheets and excel

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vignesh S. | FP&A Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

The multidimensional aspect of Pigment wherein you can visualize a metric beyond the standard Pivot tables in excel and being able to analyse the impact of various scenarios to your forecasts, without creating copies as you would do in a spreadsheet for every change that would happen.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

If you haven't used an ERP solution before, it results in being a more complicated solution compared to the ease of using spreadsheets since its not as intuitive as Excel formulas. Powerful for FP&A analysts but a bit of a struggle to onboard business users.

**Recommendations to others considering Pigment:**

It is an early tool in the market compared to Anaplan and the others which have existed in the market for a long time, but has shown tremendous improvement in the one year since launch, and as a startup, is more user friendly compared to the big companies out there.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As mentioned above, it really helps to visualize various scenarios and the impact of each on the base picture that you have. Further, having user access rights is an important feature since the pain point in Excel was it is hard to keep track on who is making the changes, especially with the organization and stakeholders increasing by the day.

  ### 34. A way to spend more time analyzing data than preparing it

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thibault C. | VP Finance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

With Pigment we can have all our KPIs, reporting and budget in the same places instead of multiplying the excel spreadsheets. We can also add new dimensions quite easily.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

It's a new way to build a report, we have to change our work habits and learn a new language

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managers can be involved in budgeting and forecasting
Having multiple scenarios
Reducing the risk of errors
Pigment can manage more lines of data than Excel without crashing

  ### 35. A intuitive, flexible & insightful tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor M. | Financial planning & analysis, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

Pigment answers extremely well the daily modelling need of a finance team by providing infinite options. We moved our whole forecasting & daily analysis process on this tool, which allowed us to save time, communicate better with other business units & find new insights that couldn't have been modelled using more classical spreadsheet software. It also integrated very well with our other software through frequent data import (netsuite, looker...)

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

Pigment is not suited for quick & dirty analyses that can be needed from time to time without the need for a complex database.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As companies grow, excel/gsheet should not be an option anymore. Pigment allows scaling and automatizing to a whole other level. We were able to do many precise & deeper analyses that would have made any other spreadsheet crash & burn while creating a super-connected model where every piece of data has its importance.

  ### 36. Agile reporting and budgeting tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marine B. | ERP Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

- Agility
- Availability of the help support during implementation. Modelers provide answers very fast, it is much appreciated
- The Pigment team takes into count our issues to improve/adapt the tool

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

The formulas are complex. It is hard for a new user to understand the logic, it is not very intuitive.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Our FP&As worked on the same excel file, it was complicated to handle as they were both modifying the file.
- The file was very heavy
- The risk of error: updating a parameter had to be done in several places in the excel file, formulas had to be copied pasted in all formulas etc.

  ### 37. Great tool for Finance Teams!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Janelle W. | Senior Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

Dynamic modeling and data visualization. Awesome in-house implementation and customer success teams that do a great job enabling teams but also helping and guiding where necessary.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

N/A. Main feedback for improvement is to continue to execute on the roadmap (features like permissioned commenting, custom colors, export to g-sheet, and KPI variances.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing large data sets, transparency with business and data integrity through integrations

  ### 38. Very complete, flexible and intuitive Excel killer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tristan G. | Finance and BI Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

Very complete tool on which you can do whatever you want. Especially organizing robust data pipelines that save a lot of time on a daily basis. More organised and structured than Excel and more flexible than BI software. I highly recommend

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

Very flexible, the Pigment team wants the software to fit perfectly with your needs. Thus a lot of things have to be built from scratch. There are not that many templates to follow.

**Recommendations to others considering Pigment:**

/

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building robust forecasting model on which you can iterate a lot. Organizing models using lot of databases

  ### 39. A powerful, comprehensive and very flexible FP&A tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Théo B. | Financial Planning and Analysis, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

- Design and fluidity of the interface
- Powerful, no storage limitations
- Data visualization (boards)
- Great modeling and support team, knowledgeable people
- Impressive reactivity and roadmap delivery from product Team, new features are constantly added

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

- More pre-designed apps and templates
- Enhanced reporting capabilities (connection to Google Slides, ability to download boards in PDF etc.)
- Formula language can show complex, takes time to be a modeler expert

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quicker and more comprehensive planning, less error prone
Flexibility in changing analytical dimensions, opening new lines of forecast (market, product etc.)
Ability to do scenario and what-if analysis
Improve collaboration among departments

  ### 40. I like the functions and design in the tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

The flexibility and design, many nice functions

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

Its easy to work in but complex to build new features. the performance is a bit lagging sometimes

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

planning, good at visualising cost of an organization

  ### 41. Very useful software and great teachers able to explain complex concepts in short time

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

The most helpful about Pigment is the ability to "call" metrics or dimensions and share it with other applications without having to recreate them each time.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

In my opinion they are still some features missing that can help builders to earn some time, for instance the lack of shortcuts such as "ctrl + Z" but also the lack of ability to add a property to many metrics by just selecting them in the blocks list

**Recommendations to others considering Pigment:**

Build apps following the wished output and to try visualize it before realizing it

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pigment is helping me forecasting and budgeting costs

  ### 42. A state-of-the-art system to take FP&A teams to the next level

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Igor P. | Head of FP&A, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

It's a powerful tool and, at the same time, it's super user-friendly therefore everything is super intuitive and flexible, allowing a smooth implementation process. The close attention from the Pigment's team throught our entire journey (POC, onboarding, implementation and support) it's a big plus!

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

Nothing in particular as knowing the company's roadmap, I know it's just a matter of time (short) so the system can cover all the needs, such like dashboards, charts and graphics capabilities excel-like style.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have both Reporting and Planning applications live up and running - meaning we already abandoned excel (!!!) - and now we're starting to take our analysis and dashboards to the next level to give the company the best support in the decision-making process.

  ### 43. Reactive team and friendly user UX

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

Data visualisation, user experience, team reactivity

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

formula complexity to do by yourself sometimes

heaviness of our exel files, quicker presentation of our analyses and for all stakeholders

  ### 44. Amazing Implementation and Customer Success team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

One of the most easy-going, knowledge and accessible customer success team I've ever come across
Easy to understand structure
Very unique features
Love the formula dependency diagram!

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

Really no complaints. Like any new systems implementation, need to ensure you have internal resources that prioritize and dedicate time for a successful outcome

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Modeling complex forecast scenarios more easily in a collaborative way; will be saving resource time & effort and significantly reduce the turn around time for providing ad-hoc forecast scenario modeling

  ### 45. Strong Support Team! Adaptable platform infrastructure!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

Great how the platform can adapt specifically to what your team is looking for. Software also is a big time improvement that automates a lot of the work. The support team is great and always willing to help out. The team is very knowledgeable about the product and can help navigate through any questions very easily.

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

The software does take some time to adapt to, as it is somewhat different than excel and some of the other planning platforms out there. However, after the learning process everything works a lot quicker.

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Error reduction, Time savings, Central source of Truth, Dynamic reporting, Planning. We have been able to build these functionalities in Pigment and has been a big help to our processes.

  ### 46. Building a one source of proof financial figures for all

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

- Traceability of data
- data modeling
- Availability of the support
- Interactive Community
- Friendly modelers

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- One source of proof of financial data
- Agility in the possible analysis: Once dimensions are settled, analysis can be done af infinity
- Data access for all

  ### 47. Very complete forecasting tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Pigment?**

- The tool is complete and modulable; it enables us to structure the forecasts the way we want for each team and integrate with one another
- The team (support/product) is friendly and reactive. Starting on Pigment can be difficult, the team has supported us until we can answer all our most important use cases
- The product improves week on week, the team takes our feedbacks seriously. They are able to provide us with workaround or ETAs to achieve what we need
- Webhook management and API support enables us to integrate seamlessly with pigment

**What do you dislike about Pigment?**

- Steep learning curve, you don't get the most out of pigment until you have spent some time on it.
- The tool still lacks some basic features that would benefit significantly for usage and help onboard more users to it

**Recommendations to others considering Pigment:**

Pigment can be powerful but is also demanding to implement. Make sure that Forecasting is a priority and that you have dedicated resources (accountable) to implement it

**What problems is Pigment solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were doing our forecasts on Google Sheets, but with everybody accessing it, adding, removing stuff, it became hard to track and maintain all the changes.
Now we have one tool in which we put everything related to forecasts, we can easily manage access read/write rights and export back the data with their API to our data tools
