The DeepL engine is being removed from the platform (I do not know if this is good or bad yet.) NextMT appeared on the platform but I do not use it (I use Google engine), so I have no experience with it. Other than that, there weren't many new things in the system for me. **What do you dislike about Phrase Localization Platform?** The DeepL engine is being removed from the platform. We have lots of MT segments and the system is often unable to pull in the desired terms from the termbase list, so they must be manually click and insert into the target language field. (At the first time we thought that the engineers did not attach the termbase excel at all.) In addition, importing an Excel file as a TB is incredibly easy. Great for every single translator! **What do you dislike about Phrase Localization Platform?** QA running time is longer than that of other CAT tools, in particular, memoQ. When the TB was huge, the QA check took more than 30 minutes. **Recommendations to others considering Phrase Localization Platform:** I have recommended Memsource to other translators already. Since you can start a free plan (Personal edition) and also free-trial, I feel easy to recommend Memsource to others. As always, human supervision is needed, especially when working when sensitive content (as is my case). There is one feature that Phrase offers that, in my experience, is not very common: creating a term base for letting translators which word NOT to use. This saves time and effort, as translators have fewer, more accurate choices. **What do you dislike about Phrase Localization Platform?** Unfortunately, in some of my recent projects, an error message appeared when I tried to confirm segments and save my progress. Not all the progress I had made was lost, but confirmed segments are used to track progress. Therefore, the rest of the team was unable to tell how much work I had actually completed. What I like? I love that I can accept the project under Phrase Web, download the joined file and then continue ONLINE under Phrase Desktop with all settings. This is very useful for me as a professional translator. Phrase Desktop features and pros: - Very easy UI and layout - Powerful tool - very light and fast, I can use it even on my ultrabook - Processing e.g. 120 k word project with MTPE is very fast, scrolling works brilliant, filtering out segments works like a hurricane, almost at no time! Another problem is terminology management - at my work, I am focused on optimization and I use customized glossaries with terminology. The CAT Desktop Editor is now available for both macOS and Windows, which made the platform feel much more professional and comfortable to use for translators who prefer dedicated desktop software over browser-only workflows. The workflows, dashboards, and project management tools now feel more modern and visually refined than before, while still keeping the simplicity that originally drew me to the platform. Differently from Trados, it's really plug-and-play. You can just focus on translation without worrying about errors, crashes, glitches, and all the "pleasant" things you have to face when you use Trados. TMs and glossaries work very well, you can integrate it with systems like DeepL, and you have a lot more help than Trados when you work (suggestions, terms, and the likes). **What do you dislike about Phrase Localization Platform?** I only have a small complaint with Memsource - it doesn't work well with high-DPI systems. In particular, I have a 4K monitor, but the interface (not the translation environment) is sometimes tiny, sometimes enormous. However, it isn't a big deal. **Recommendations to others considering Phrase Localization Platform:** I strongly advise moving to Memsource if your company or agency is using another CAT Tool. In my opinion, Memsource is the best CAT Tool available in 2019. It was the same in 2018 and I'm sure it will be in 2020 as well.
