A lot of issues can be related to our ERP, but it would be helpful if they were easier to diagnose. **What problems is Phocas Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Phocas helps us take the rough around the edges reporting from our ERP and make it easy to navigate and drill into the details. A taskbar at the top of the screen allows for an easy access way of refining your search queries. All the search points you may need are conveniently located. The different functions can be moved into a graph for easy month/12 month/rolling/non-rolling options. **What do you dislike about Phocas Software?** The amount of data that can be input can be a bit overwhelming at times. It can be a bit of a hassle trying to understand 40 columns placed within the charts. The ease of use does help mitigate this a bit though. **What problems is Phocas Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm in the warranty side of our business and Phocas is helping to isolate trouble spots in our inventories. It allows us to make a complext budget if needed while making it easy for department heads to contribute to the budget. **What do you dislike about Phocas Software?** We are using this software for the first time preparing our 2022 budget so we don't have any significant dislikes yet. We did experience a problem setting up the portion of the budget relating to confidential salaries but that was due to how we set it up initially which was not explained very well during training. **Recommendations to others considering Phocas Software:** Make sure you watch several of their demos to make sure it will handle all your needs. **What problems is Phocas Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** It has made adjusting the budget much easier than in prior years when we were using just Excel. It is very user-friendly, and the interface is intuitive. The controls to reset the system are also very simple so you can drill down into fine detail and quickly and easily come back out to start again. **What do you dislike about Phocas Software?** When you export the data to spreadsheets or CSV files, it would be helpful if it was in a neater format. At the moment, the data is perfect but just needs to be tidied up slightly before it us useable. **Recommendations to others considering Phocas Software:** Fantastic tool for business. The ease of use for an end-user ensures buy-in from users. Too many BI tools require complex manipulation of various filters, whereas Phocas has kept it simple with click and drill functionality. Don't let this simplicity fool you; functions like Matrix view for quickly identifying opportunities and transaction mode for deeper dive information are beneficial. **What do you dislike about Phocas Software?** There's very little to dislike about this software; my only suggestion for an improvement would be a designer mode for transaction exports. Transaction data is exported based on the order of the dimensions and the properties within; the ability to tailor this order for various exports would save time manually rearranging via Excel. **What problems is Phocas Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Phocas has allowed the setting up of automatic reporting using the subscribe function, making the reporting to our customers a lot easier. It combines various sources of data from MRP system (direct integration) through to spreadsheets. It is easy to navigate and also for administrators, it is easy to manage integrations and build dashboards and favourites that provide real value for our business. The system allows users to view data across the business and home in on exception reporting to identify issues and fix them! **What do you dislike about Phocas Software?** It would be good to be able to e-mail mini dashboards on a regular basis. The system allows you to set up favourites and set up scheduled e-mails but this is usually just for one data set. **Recommendations to others considering Phocas Software:** This software is worth investing both the time and money into. It has definitely helped us to improve the bottom line. **What problems is Phocas Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Like many businesses, we have data across several systems. As a manufacturing company, we use Solidworks, Merlin MRP and the Microsoft 365 suite. The direct integration with Merlin allows for seamless updates, whilst we can also bring in things like KPI data from other sources. Our users now have a consolidated view of the business and we can identify issues quickly. We use the data to make more informed decisions for anything from forecasting sales and stock procurement through to performance. ### 23. It is simple to view percentage margins on both full sales history and individual items, and Phocas simply shows profit too. This makes it simple to target downgrading areas of business and makes gap analysis and market trends easy to track. It is functional and intuitive to use. I can download spreadsheets of information or download the same information on charts and graphs for presentations. These functions are invaluable when time is short and you’re needing professionally presented information with a tight deadline. **What do you dislike about Phocas Software?** There is little to dislike. All information is laid out simply, so sales teams best get used to all of their accounts, sales history, margins and profit available to directors at the click of a button. But on a serious note, the only slight inconvenience is having to log in regularly if the account is left dormant. This is otherwise a good safety feature, and is easily resolved by saving log in details on your device and allowing auto fill passwords on the device too. **Recommendations to others considering Phocas Software:** Phocas is a versatile tool which helps analyse multiple aspects of your business. **What problems is Phocas Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am able to track individual spends of every customer, I can identify key accounts and easily analyse the types of products they use. You can filter it almost any way you can think of, filters on top of filters is the key here, to fully customizing your data and how it is presented to you. The report function is also amazing, you can custom build reports, or use many of the reports that are already there to quickly glance at whatever data sets you need to, whether for progress reports, data reports, or comparing. The other great function it has is the ability to take the data off the website and put them on a variety of other platforms, like excel or word or what have you. Overall Phocas is a very useful tool to extract data from a source that does not make it easy to view that kind of data, or it is impossible to view that kind of data from it, and it puts it out there however you'd like to view it. **What do you dislike about Phocas Software?** Sometimes there is a lag when trying to look at data, but this may just be due to the size of data that I am looking at. I also wish there were a "undo" button to quickly undo a filter or a move instead of having to manually do it and risk messing up your filters. **Recommendations to others considering Phocas Software:** Play around with it to fully see what it can do. It has endless capabilities to tailor the data to you. **What problems is Phocas Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm easily able to look at reports when there are vendor price increases and see which items have gone up and how much they went up by. I'm also able to look and see if there are errors in the pricing load, as it shows me items that went up by a crazy amount or all of a sudden have a $0 cost that are obviously incorrect. I learn more about Phocas and what it can do each time I use it. **What do you dislike about Phocas Software?** The one small thing I dislike about phocas, and this could solely just be my computer, my internet or the amount of data I'm looking at, but sometimes it seems pretty slow to pull up certain data sets or display certain things. But this is not an all the time thing, again, I think this might just be when I am looking at large amounts of data. **What problems is Phocas Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to run into stock cost comparison reports, so when I load new costs, I'm able to look back and see what they used to be, to tell exactly what items changed, and see how much they went up. There is usually a workaround for supporting new features on older versions of SQL so it's a shame that hasn't been added.
