What I like most about PerformYard Performance Management is how it makes performance tracking structured, transparent, and continuous, instead of feeling like a once-a-year review. It helps managers and employees align goals clearly, share ongoing feedback, and track progress in real time. I also appreciate how it supports professional development by turning progress into measurable insights. Overall, it encourages better accountability, stronger communication, and a more growth-focused workplace culture.

One potential drawback of PerformYard Performance Management is that, like many structured performance systems, it can feel time-consuming if it isn’t integrated smoothly into daily workflows. Some users may also find there’s a learning curve before they can fully adopt the platform. And if managers don’t consistently provide meaningful feedback, the process can end up feeling more administrative than developmental.

“PerformYard Performance Management solves challenges around inconsistent feedback, unclear performance expectations, and difficulty tracking employee progress over time. By centralizing goal setting, feedback, and performance reviews, it creates more transparency and accountability. This benefits me by making expectations clearer, helping me track my progress, identify areas for improvement, and receive more timely and constructive feedback that supports my professional growth.”

“What I like best about PerformYard is its simplicity and flexibility. It allows us to manage quarterly performance reviews efficiently while customizing our evaluation process to fit our company’s specific goals, scoring structure, and feedback needs. I also appreciate the automated reminders and workflow tracking, which help keep managers accountable and ensure reviews are completed on time. The platform gives us a centralized place to document performance, support compensation decisions, and create consistency across departments."

The only thing I don’t like is that the company logo is so small on the dashboard.

**What problems is PerformYard Performance Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As the HR Director for Patriot Fire Protection, Inc., I can confidently say that PerformYard has been an outstanding tool for our organization.

We have been using the platform for several years, and it has completely streamlined our employee review and goal-tracking process. With a team of about 50 employees, the system makes it incredibly easy to manage quarterly reviews and maintain consistency across the company.

One of the features I appreciate most is how quickly reviews can be scheduled. It literally takes me about five minutes to schedule quarterly reviews for all 50 employees. The platform allows us to create customizable review forms that can be reused or adjusted as needed, which saves a tremendous amount of administrative time.

Another great feature is the scoring capability. The forms automatically calculate scores for each employee, and I can quickly generate reports showing review results across the entire company. This gives leadership clear visibility into employee performance and progress toward goals.

Overall, the process is smooth, efficient, and easy to manage. We truly love both the process and the software.

PerformYard is easy to use and the UI is clean, so it doesn’t take much training to get started. I especially like how clearly it shows performance goals that are set by my manager, along with progress and expectations in one place. The workflows feel structured (goals → check-ins/reviews → feedback), which helps keep performance conversations consistent and reduces back‑and‑forth in emails. It also makes it easier to stay organized during review cycles because everything is documented and easy to find later.

A few areas could be improved. Some screens require extra clicks to get to details, and filtering/searching could be more powerful (for example, quickly finding goals by time period, status, or category). Notifications can also be a bit too frequent during busy review periods, and I’d like more flexibility to customize what I receive. Reporting/exports could be more user-friendly with more ready-made dashboards for managers and employees.

**What problems is PerformYard Performance Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PerformYard solves the problem of tracking performance goals, feedback, and review progress across a team in one place instead of scattered emails, spreadsheets, or documents. It benefits me by making my manager’s expectations and goals clearly visible, keeping all feedback and review history organized, and reducing back-and-forth during review cycles. Overall, it improves transparency, helps me stay aligned with priorities, and makes performance discussions faster and more consistent.

This management system creates an easy to use platform for our performance reviews. The questions are thoughtful and really encourages all employees to think about how they would like to continue improving performances.

**What do you dislike about PerformYard Performance Management?**

It would be nice to have different questions populate throughout the performance time period, if one question was asked on the first review, maybe changing some questioning for the second biannual review will be helpful to continue the conversation on performance changes.

**What problems is PerformYard Performance Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows our employees access a quick and easy to use platform. Initially when conducting biannual reviews, asking the questions in person could create an awkward environment. Doing this online allows the employee the space to answer honestly, with thoughtful responses and creates a neutral environment for management to address complications.

**What do you like best about PerformYard Performance Management?**

Our organization recently switched to PerformYard for self-evaluations and direct-report performance reviews, and the transition has been seamless. The platform is easy to use—intuitive and efficient. As a first-time user, I’ve especially appreciated how straightforward everything feels, and I can’t say enough about how much I’m enjoying the side-by-side view feature. It makes it incredibly easy to reference my supervisees’ reviews while completing my own and when meeting with them, which helps the review sessions feel more organic and less time-consuming. 

I’m looking forward to learning more as we continue to dive deeper into using PerformYard as a resource to improve our workflow. I am already wowed by the option to use the AI-powered REPHRASE button, which helps make my writing clearer and more succinct. Even without the straightforward training we received from PerformYard, I would have felt confident using this very intuitive platform. 

I am overjoyed to have completed evaluations without the glitches of the previous system. I had no issues and did not relive the nightmare of work not being saved, having to copy/paste into documents to ensure I could pick up where I left off, and not being able to advance from one screen to the next with no explanation. This has already been, and I suspect will continue to be, a game-changer for our organization.

Thanks for making a not-so-fun part of my work life feel less like drudgery!!

**What do you dislike about PerformYard Performance Management?**

I am a first-time user, so I don't have much feedback here, but one thing I noticed is that my direct report can't view the review unless ALL signers have done so. It would be helpful for them to be able to access it as long as I, as the author, have signed it.

**What problems is PerformYard Performance Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously, reviews were VERY time-consuming. It would take me two - three hours to complete one. The cumbersome nature of the platform combined with the many glitches---not being able to advance to the next section, written work not being saved, and having no clue what was wrong was extremely frustrating. I experienced none of that with this platform.

It is very helpful to have a dashboard where I can see everything that is going on. The onboarding process to learn to use the platform is straightforward, very clear. Entering goals and tracking the progress of each goal is great and I like that it is very visual so I can see how I am doing.

I may be missing something, but it would be nice if it had a Gantt chart/timeline kind of view to align the checklist to due dates.
