"Robust Tool with Creative Potential and Setup Challenges"
5/5
What do you like best about Pendo?

What I like most about Pendo is how fun it is to create in-app guides. It's a bit creative, which I enjoy, and I enjoy working with my other coworkers on building out education, tooltips, and the resource center at our company. I think it's got a lot of great tools and features that we can use if just used properly. There's a lot that Pendo can do and a lot that I find is very exciting. What do you dislike about Pendo?

We have some issues with segmenting within the Pendo account, and we're still working on it. It's also about figuring out who is responsible for what, which is something we are still working on. Plus, the initial setup was a bit difficult. We kind of started at the end, and now we have to backtrack and start from the beginning, so setup was a little bit hard. "Innovative Product Analytics with Room for Growth"
5/5
What do you like best about Pendo?

I like the innovation and quick pace at which Pendo develops and ships. I also like the new AI tooling. I think they went to market pretty fast on that and they are taking big bets even with AI changing at such a rapid pace. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pendo?

Because of the way that our UUX has been tagged, sometimes it's hard to track every element that our FIs care about. Also because of the way our UUX has been tagged, it is hard to use embedded guides in the ways we imagined. I also think there are portions of Pendo we don't touch at all like NPS. We could be adopting parts more - and our FIs could also be adopting portions of OEM more too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Innovative Solution Enhancing User Engagement"

What do you like best about Pendo?

I use Pendo for onboarding, walkthroughs, tool tips, and customer notices, as well as data and analytics. I like the usability of it. While there's a slight learning curve if you're new to it, it's always innovating and makes my job as a PMM easier for deploying messaging and announcements. It helps take customer onboarding to another level beyond just point and click instructions. I also appreciate innovations like Leo that help me find analytics faster, improve messaging, and suggest new ways to promote under-utilized features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pendo?

I wish there was a way to trigger a delay of guides after a customer clicks a feature or submit button. That would help with CSAT or other feedback surveys once a customer completes a task. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Retroactive Insights and Session Playback That Deliver"
4/5
What do you like best about Pendo?

The retroactive function and the ability to play back user sessions! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pendo?

There’s definitely a learning curve, and the whole process of tagging things feels very tedious. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Timothy Wilson of Pendo

The combination of retroactive analytics and session replay is powerful for understanding where users struggle, great to hear it's informing your training approach.

On tagging: the Visual Design Studio's Suggested Match gets you most of the way there quickly, and the Rule Builder lets you refine without writing code.

Enabling "Filter dynamic custom HTML attribute values" in tagging settings also prevents the most common source of tagging frustration — unstable rules that break between sessions. I included a resource to this as well.

"Intuitive Interface and Deep Insights with Pendo"
5/5
What do you like best about Pendo?

I appreciate Pendo's very friendly user interface, which allows me to easily dive deep into workflows and also view things from a zoomed-out perspective. The capability to locate user workflows, feature clicks, funnels, and paths with ease is a big plus for me. I love that I can click into the UI elements and charts to get more detailed information, such as specific clicks, navigation paths, drop-off points, and which user segments are using a particular feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pendo?

I think that having the ability to tag things quicker and more effectively will be a big help. I understand that this is something that is coming in the future, but I don't have access to it yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Insightful User Analytics with Room for Improvement"
4/5
What do you like best about Pendo?

I find Pendo very useful for reporting, user analytics, guides, and dashboards. It helps me identify users for beta testing and targets for UX testing, and I appreciate how it prepares me for client calls with usage data. I like being able to quickly pull feature-level data the best, as it helps me figure out good users to target for user experience research and also who is adopting features. Additionally, I use it for bug bashes to give the team various users to test with. The initial setup was easy from my previous job experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pendo?

Segments are case sensitive. This is a major issue. I make segments for clients using email domains, and often miss users due to the case sensitivity, leading to distrust in data Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Centralized Analytics and Easy Setup with Pendo"
4/5
What do you like best about Pendo?

I really like Pendo's intuitive interface, which is simple to understand and learn quickly, and it's easy to set up. I appreciate the centralized nature of all the products across Pendo compared to managing multiple different software or platforms for analytics, guides, and more. Pendo makes it easier to get set up and use than other tools we've used, like Amplitude and Appcues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pendo?

I feel like a few things that can improve are definitely ways to simplify tagging of features, potentially automate this process when new features are released as well as for current existing features. Also suggest track events to implement. It took a bit of time, we are still working to setup our resource center which has been pretty time consuming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effective User Engagement with Easy Setup"
5/5
What do you like best about Pendo?

I like using Pendo to gather product usage data and deploy in-app guides for user engagement, onboarding, adoption, and announcing feature changes. It helps us reach the right users at the right place at the right time and is more effective than email. I appreciate Pendo's ease of use and the close connection between data and taking action on that data. The initial setup was very easy, and I use integrations with Slack, Salesforce, and Pendo MCP with Claude. Pendo is also an industry leader and consistently releases delightful features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pendo?

It can be hard to manage a legacy implementation of Pendo with lots and lots of old feature tagging, guides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Highly Customizable, Insightful Analytics Tool"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Pendo?

I use Pendo to gain insights on how my customers are using or not using my app. It lets me direct them to resources, identify risks, and drive adoption. I really like how customizable and user-friendly it is, as it gives us so much depth. I especially value the user journeys, widgets, and data reports, as they let us see exactly how customers use our app and where they fall off. The initial setup was also easy for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pendo?

Building reports is very manual and it's not always clear what features will help us. I wish we could add context about specific customers to complement the usage analytics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive, Data-Driven Insights with Superb Team Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Pendo?

I use Pendo for various tasks, including capturing user feedback to help prioritize and plan roadmaps, and understanding user behavior through analytics. I also send out in-product messages using guides. I find Pendo intuitive to use and easy to understand, and I love working with the dedicated team. Unlike other tools that feel clunky and not well thought out, Pendo is intentional in its design, which really stands out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pendo?

The setup and tagging could be improved. It takes our engineering teams a while to get code on page. I'd love if there was a way to auto tag our features. Depending on the team, the initial setup was easy for some and difficult for others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
