## PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS) Reviews
  ### 1. East to learn, difficult to use

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2025

**What do you like best about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

EPS is a relatively easy program to learn, even as a pharmacy newbie. It is more intuitive than other programs I've used in another medical profession.

**What do you dislike about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

EPS is insanely slow. Some days there are massive lulls in between each screen. Some days different buttons do not work, or random errors will pop up that fill the screen and offer no solution but to close, clean install, delete files and restart with a hope and a prayer.

**What problems is PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do not work in IT and am unable to assess what they are fixing. I have been with this company for 2+ years and have felt little improvement in this system.

  ### 2. Antiquated pharmacy software

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2024

**What do you like best about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

Nothing at all. It must be the worst system in use by any pharmacy.

**What do you dislike about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

Too many to list. Having previously used far superior pharmacy software, I'm having a very difficult time working with EPS. It is slow, unresponsive, have to open multiple screens to find one thing, and more. The worst is TP exceptions. I used to be able to easily and quickly fix third party issues. Now I spend minutes instead of seconds fixing problems. It seems like they took the DOS platform from PDX, and just added a GUI facade. You can't build good software by using antiquated technology.

**What problems is PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's making work miserable using that platform.

  ### 3. Pdx (EPS)

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** linda m. | Independent owner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2023

**What do you like best about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

I liked the will call, to figure out what was happening with the patient's prescriptions.

**What do you dislike about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

TP EX third party exception: I found it to be confusing. Because even after it says where the script is located, it doesn't tell you where to go next. Instead, it's backing out and there are several more buttons to press!

**What problems is PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can inform the patients that I see their information in the computer and that we are actively working on it. I believe I am ahead until I have to contact a third party and discover that I need another insurance card or the insurance won't pay. In retail, it's not productive.

  ### 4. Enterprise Pharmacy System in Hospital setting

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2019

**What do you like best about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

The system does not have any standout features. It does have a function that allows you to group medication refills together, however single medications can get stuck in the ordering grouping queue with no reason for being in the queue. Allows a second address and area to create categories for patients, for example adding bubble packaging to a patients profile.

**What do you dislike about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

The program is not very intuitive, it has a lot of queues and areas where ordered can get stuck, the order grouping queue does t even appear until a view button is clicked once in the tab.

**Recommendations to others considering PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS):**

This is not an intuitive program, it has many functions but training is essential. There are many fields that are similar and requires opening tabs to get to certain note fields.

**What problems is PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to create categories for patients to identify special packaging instructions that could be missed, tabs to add notes on the orders allows any communication to stay with the order no matter how many people are involved in the process.

  ### 5. Great platform and competitive

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer B. | Accounting clerk, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2019

**What do you like best about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

I love the implementation of the queues in EPS. It solves a lot of problems that older version pharmacy systems lacked.

**What do you dislike about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

There could still be improvements made to the checks of the system when filling or reversing prescriptions to prevent things like failed credits or accidental reversals.

**What problems is PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

EPS makes filling and dispensing prescriptions very easy. The queues system allows for quick problem resolutions.

  ### 6. Good concepts, but un-intuitive for the beginner

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2018

**What do you like best about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

I like that a prescription goes through different queues. The queue's often very clearly describes where a prescription is in the process at a glance. Having a third party exception queue (i.e. a place to put all the prescription orders that have an insurance issue) and a call queue (whether it be calling the prescriber or the patient). Something I found extremely useful is that you can look up a patient's insurance information (search for patient eligibility). I've found this to be incredibly convenient at times.

For the most part, the system manages to get everything it needs to get done, done. I have yet to see an experienced technician or pharmacist be unable to resolve an issue using EPS - and I think that's saying something. No matter how difficult a system is to use, if it gets the job done, it's only a matter of time before it becomes a powerful tool.

**What do you dislike about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

It's rather difficult to get a prescription to a certain part of the workflow if you're not familiar with the software. For example, reversing a prescription to me seems incredibly un-intuitive. I used to work for an independent pharmacy that used Digital RX, which is a less sophisticated system but is easier to use. In that, you can reverse an insurance claim at any point. It's easy to do "test" claims as well. EPS requires you to go through multiple steps by manipulating where the prescription is in the workflow queues. To anyone who's never used the program before, it is nearly impossible to figure this out.

In addition, with respect to the queues, I've seen more inexperienced technicians somehow get a prescription seemingly stuck in a part of the workflow, without anyone being able to figure out how to get it un-stuck. I don't know how they can make the queues easier to work with without changing the system dramatically.

Adding an insurance is unreasonably complicated. Part of it is me getting used to the system, but whenever I add an insurance, it always wants me to search for something - like for an insurance plan that is in the system. I'm forced to choose a plan that is already in the system, and many times I do not find a selection that matches my prescription card exactly.

**What problems is PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am unaware of any problems that existed prior to the implementation of EPS with the company that I work for. EPS utilizes barcodes, which I believe greatly reduces fill time and error. I've worked with older pharmacy systems that don't use them as vigorously as EPS does, and I'm not sure if I can go back to that.

  ### 7. Windows based-EPS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura C. | Clinical Pharmacist, Hospital & Health Care, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2018

**What do you like best about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

I like how I can actually see a hard copy scanned imagine of the prescription. I also enjoy how there are multiple checks throughout the verification process including when the prescription is in-put, when the drug is chosen, and when the prescription is verified by the pharmacist.

**What do you dislike about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

I dislike how I have to use the mouse. It would be easier if I could only stay on the keyboard for quickness.

**Recommendations to others considering PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS):**

One-on-one training is helpful, both with cashiers, technicians, pharmacists, as well as the on-call/agency pharmacists who come in from time to time. Because the pharmacist has the only access for many tasks, it's essential that he/she understand how to manage the system.

**What problems is PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficiency, decreased medication errors.

  ### 8. 2 year Certified Pharmacy Technician

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2018

**What do you like best about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

I like that the system is very user friendly, very easy to learn. It is much easier to override and solve TP exceptions and guides the user a lot.

**What do you dislike about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

The texting and automated calls never work the right way, and EPS support does not know how to fix this, It is annoying to have the patient sign just to take a medication off of automatic refill. There is no way to change or delete pictures or notes once scanned or entered into the system. If a couple tablets were given no charge, it often goes unnoticed because there is not a note popping up for the next fill.

**Recommendations to others considering PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS):**

I feel like everytime they update the system, they make it more difficult to use. OTC items should not have to be rescanned everytime they are refilled in the system. I have no idea why this update was passed. It is fairly easy to understand, but any more complicated tasks can not be easily done.

**What problems is PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

EPS helps my pharmacy to perform and distribute medications.

  ### 9. Easy to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2019

**What do you like best about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

EPS is a straightforward software system. It's easy for even inexperienced computer people to use. The basics are very straightforward. More of the detailed aspects can be more complicated, but the general aspects are easy.

**What do you dislike about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

The rebilling option cannot always be used and if it can't, the process is very time consuming. Otherwise, like I said, the more detailed aspects are not that straightforward. If there is a trouble shooting issue, it is not easily resolved.

**What problems is PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The overall process of filling a prescription is sped up with EPS.

  ### 10. It''s no match to the.previous software but it's sufficient

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2018

**What do you like best about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

I like the get next function. I also like the usability between the different windows.

**What do you dislike about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

Most things. The billing is awful and it is not continually adaptable.

**Recommendations to others considering PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS):**

Get ready for a whole different work style!

**What problems is PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pharmacy's can communicate with others.

Returning to stick with one click keeps life easier, transmitting billing is a lot speedier than PDX

**What do you dislike about PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS)?**

When on hand inventory is out of stock, there are a lot of patients that dont get notified about their out of stock items, and it seems like more work is piled up in seperate places when the volume of work remains the same.. Hard to take a breather because keeping piled up areas is too busy to maintain organized

**What problems is PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using less paper

pharmacy issues such as insurance
