## About PDQ Deploy & Inventory
PDQ Deploy & Inventory is a self-hosted, agentless endpoint management and patch automation solution that helps IT administrators scan, organize, and maintain Windows devices on on-prem and VPN-connected networks. Common use cases include: automated third-party patching and Windows Cumulative Update deployment, software inventory and compliance auditing, dynamic device group management, PowerShell script execution across targeted endpoints, and recurring maintenance automation for on-prem/on-network Windows fleets. PDQ Deploy & Inventory consists of two complementary tools sold under a single license. PDQ Inventory scans Windows devices across the network to collect hardware specifications, installed applications, OS versions, Active Directory attributes, and custom data defined via PowerShell Scanner. It automatically groups devices into dynamic collections based on criteria such as software version, disk space, or AD membership, and syncs with Active Directory to keep computer records current. PDQ Deploy uses those collections as deployment targets to push software, run scripts, and automate patch management on a defined schedule and silently, without interrupting end users. The Package Library provides 500+ prebuilt packages covering popular third-party applications and Windows Cumulative Updates for workstations and servers, maintained and tested by PDQ. Key features include: - Automated patch management: Schedule recurring deployments of third-party software and Windows Cumulative Updates to targeted device groups, with heartbeat-triggered retries for offline machines - Dynamic Collections: Device groups that update automatically based on defined inventory criteria, enabling precise and up-to-date deployment targeting - Custom packages and scripting: Build multi-step deployment packages, deploy executables/installers/msi packages, and execute PowerShell or batch scripts across targeted devices for configuration changes, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks - Reporting: Prebuilt and custom reports with scheduled, automated email delivery — commonly used for compliance audits and management reporting - Central Server mode: Connects multiple admin consoles to a single PDQ server, allowing IT teams to collaboratively manage packages, schedules, and deployment histories from their workstations Unlike PDQ Connect, PDQ's separate cloud-native, agent-based product for remote and hybrid fleets, PDQ Deploy & Inventory is purpose-built for on-prem and VPN-connected environments where devices are network-accessible. PDQ was founded in 2001 and is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. The company develops device management software purpose-built for Windows-focused IT teams, ranging from solo sysadmins to mid-sized IT departments. PDQ's product portfolio includes PDQ Deploy & Inventory for on-prem environments, cloud-native PDQ Connect for remote and hybrid fleet management, SmartDeploy for Windows imaging, SimpleMDM for Apple device management, ISL for remote access and remote desktop support, and PDQ Detect for vulnerability management. PDQ Deploy & Inventory is used by IT teams in education, government, manufacturing, healthcare, and finance. Licensed per administrator with unlimited endpoint access — not per device.

 ### 16. The best Windows software I have ever used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron d. | Systems Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

As an open-source guy who *hates* working with Microsoft software and products, but is frequently forced to support it, I find it extremely rare that I would ever compliment software that runs on the Windows platform.
PDQ Inventory and PDQ Deploy are absolutely the exceptions. They make dealing with the Windows environment so much more enjoyable. The software does one job and does it exceptionally well.

All Windows developers should be required to use PDQ software and to see how well it works. They should then strive to make their applications work that smoothly.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I have zero complaints about PDQ. The software is amazing, the support is spectacular if you ever need it, and it keeps the Windows-side of my networks humming along smoothly.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automated software deployment and standardization on Windows desktops and servers

 ### 17. PDQ is absolutely essential to our IT department. Highly recommended!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Easy and large community support. Makes deployments super easy.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Nothing so far. Requires a little bit of research, but what doesn't?

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Inventory of our assets and management.

 ### 18. Extremely helpful!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Courtney K. | IT Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I like how detailed the inventory is, especially since we keep track of devices by service tag. I also really like the fact that I can create reports and use filters. I like that I can view devices by service tag, amount of RAM, processor, make and model, etc. I also really like the integration with Active Directory. I like that PDQ Inventory tells me when a device's name has been changed. We often rename computers when there's employee turnover, and this reminds me to rename devices in Active Directory.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I wish that more options were available for free, but that's just my department being cheap. There isn't much I dislike about the program. I wish there was an all-in-one system though where I could view inventory AND deploy updates in one software.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm a one-woman department, so PDQ Inventory makes keeping track of our inventory extremely efficient. It's saved me time instead of having to walk around to over 60 devices. Not only time saved, but I also appreciate the filters because it helps me run reports so that I can determine which devices need to be updated and when, when it's time to replace certain devices due to our upgrade schedule, etc.

 ### 19. PDQDeploy/Inventory is an highly effective tool that is a pleasure to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard M. | Windows Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The thing that stands out to me about PDQ Deploy/Inventory is the reporting and device collections. With something like SCCM, it's so tough to write device collections that are accurate. PDQ Inventory makes my job easy to gather devices in like groups to solve issues like software deployment, or trying to figure out how widespread an issue is. It's SUPER helpful.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The only thing I dislike is I wish PDQ Deploy did more with AD User Objects, not necessarily making changes to them but also being able to gather data on User Accounts to make changes.

**Recommendations to others considering PDQ Deploy & Inventory:**

PDQ Deploy/Inventory is worth your time and attention if you're an administrator. If you need to administer your Windows workstations, PDQ Deploy should be looked at first and foremost because you can easily get the thing up and running in minutes. There are great videos you can watch, and searching for PDQ solutions is really easy due to the wealth of information on their site and in forums elsewhere. Still having a problem? PDQ is backed by rock-solid support that will give you the answers you need within minutes.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using PDQ Deploy to gather update 3rd party applications on a schedule like Chrome, Adobe Acrobat, Firefox, and a few others. I also have occasionally used it to deploy programs because it is much faster than SCCM if I want to get something done quickly. If I need to get a birds-eye view of my workstations to hunt information down, PDQ Inventory is my go-to.

 ### 20. Best Thing Since Slice Bread

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marc B. | Desktop Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Multiple installations on selected computers. Make's it easier to push software that is needed on a computer that is on the AD. Not to mention the customization of PDQ Deploy when creating packages. What make's it worthwhile is the Windows update seamlessly within PDQ deploy.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The only downside is large packages ie AutoCAD or SolidWorks will not able to install correctly. It's a hassle when you have to push a large package but it usually fails. There is another AutoCAD that can push safely but it's a viewer only for CAD users.

**Recommendations to others considering PDQ Deploy & Inventory:**

If you are looking for something out of the box and hit the ground running. This is the one and not to mention their youtube guides are awesome. Especially drinking part :) I sometimes watch their channel at home (Non working days) and take a swig of a drink when they say PDQ Deploy.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mass installation in a timely matter. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit the academic area it really shook our department. We were not ready nor have any plans on remote work for faculty and staff. Most of the employee's computers were desktops. We initiated some research in a short period of time which PDQ Deploy was able to handle until we found the best software package. We tested and found remote software and was compatible with PDQ Deploy without any hiccups. Mass deployment and was done in under an hour with 400 faculty and staff computers. Realization of the emergency potential and everyday use of PDQ Deploy.

 ### 21. Hands down on of the best deployment software available.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris H. | Systems Administration, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The ability to do multiple steps within a deployment is one of my favorite features. For example, you can run a powershell script that does registry edits before you run an installer, then run a file cleanup tool to remove any leftover junk.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I would like to see more packages available in the pre-configured packages or possibly include pre-made powershell scripts.

**Recommendations to others considering PDQ Deploy & Inventory:**

Use the free version to get your feet wet with PDQ Deploy. While all of the features are not available in the free version. One of the most important features, package deployment, is free forever.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before we had PDQ Deploy, all installs were done one at a time across our whole fleet. PDQ Deploy has saved us thousands of man-hours in the two years we've been running it.

 ### 22. Must Have Tool for Network Administrators

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civic & Social Organization | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ Deploy is a must-have tool for network administrators. When you have dozens or hundreds of endpoints, you simply can't install software individually on each machine. PDQ Deploy simplifies the process of installing software packages across the network. This is quick and simpler than relying on GPO.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The only drawback of PDQ Deploy is that it is not cloud-based. You can only deploy to machines on the local network. If you have users that work remotely, this solution won't suffice.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PDQ is a time-saver when you have a large number of endpoints to manage, not only for the IT department but also for users themselves. Managing installed software is more efficient and effective.

 ### 23. PDQ deploy has made life easy with deploying software's,patches, application shortcuts,OS deployment

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Renford joseph D. | Senior Technical support analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Simple and straightforward steps to deploy software. one-click deployment is a great advantage. Hosts can be identified by name or IP. Mass deployment is an excellent feature.OS deployment is also simplified.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I have never had a bad experiences with software deployment thus far. It has been a great application to deal with to manage your endpoints.

**Recommendations to others considering PDQ Deploy & Inventory:**

Definitely a reliable application for your small and medium-scale networks. Helps you save money from relying on third-party or in-house teams at your branch locations.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Software deployments over networked computers with no geographical boundaries. Single and multiple host deployment is possible with little effort and scripting knowledge.OS deployment implemented.

 ### 24. PDQ is fantastic!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ Deploy saves me a ton of time. I'm trying to automate as many processes as I can. PDQ Inventory helps me track what I have and makes deploying easier.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I have a few remote workers and a remote office. I wish I could have a client in my remote office that would report to the central server.

**Recommendations to others considering PDQ Deploy & Inventory:**

If you do not have any automation in your IT shop, this is a great place to start. You will save a ton of time. Automating application updates helps you patch those zero-day issues. Now when there is an issue installing software I only have to touch a few machines instead of all of them.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When setting up a new computer, it took up to 4 hours, and now a machine can be ready in 20 to 30 minutes from opening up the box. Power Shell is another area that I'm learning, and using PDQ Deploy makes it easy to schedule or send out deployments.

 ### 25. PDQ Deploy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Timothy B. | Technology Director, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

It makes it unbelievably easy to create deployments and push them out to our devices. Between the pre-built packages and our custom-built packages, plus PowerShell deployments, we don't even bother to image anymore. Just reload Windows and push a "New Machine" stack of deployments to the machine, and we're finished. I've been using it for years, and it's one of my favorite tools. My techs love it, and I think they are thankful that I brought it in and put it into place. It saves them countless hours on repetitive tasks.

The ability to utilize PowerShell scripts takes it to another level and makes it one of the best pieces of software we use on a daily basis. If we can't figure out a way to do it, we can search the Internet and find a PowerShell script to deploy that will get the job done. Once we have it in our arsenal, we never have to worry about that particular problem again since we can filter for those machines in PDQ Inventory and target them with PDQ Deploy.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I'm hoping that they modify their software to hook into Intune to continue to utilize it for mobile devices.

**Recommendations to others considering PDQ Deploy & Inventory:**

Take the time to build out all of your software one time. Once you have it built, it's easy to update and will save you all of that time on the back end.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There really aren't any problems, short of BIOS settings, that we haven't been able to solve with PDQ Deploy. If we are creative enough, we can figure out a way to take care of anything happening with an end user or their PC.

 ### 26. Powerful Tool for patching, updates, deployments, reporting and more

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert M. | Systems administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

In a business that requires updates to be completed in a timely manner, we have found PDQ deploy and PDQ inventory to work in a manner that meets our business standards. PDQ has taken the guess work out of deploying third party updates, Monthly required OS updates and so much more. Since incorporating PDQ into our model, my patching number have greatly improved and I am getting about a 98% completion on my endpoints.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I know this may sound cliche, honestly though, I have no dislikes with PDQ. I however can give you so many positive things on how this product has greatly improved my job performance.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the past using a different product, which I will not mention, I was unable to get real time deployment data back as to the failures or sucesses of deploying a package, updates, etc... PDQ is such an amazing product and is easy to use, just don't tell my manager :) In the past when my boss would as me for a report in let's say Google Chrome, it could take me hours to pull data on software versions, and still I wasn't positive the data would be correct. BUT, with PDQ Inventory is up to date and I can easily pull a report in less than 5 minutes, save it to a CSV file, sort it exactly how my boss needs it and email him the results.

 ### 27. PDQ Deploy is the MOST VALUABLE tool in the toolbox!

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

What can I say? PDQ Deploy is the best investment I've ever made in software. It allows me so much granular control over deploying software updates, as well as scheduling scripts or jobs to run for selected computers or groups of computers. I really don't know how I would have managed this without PDQ Deploy. The price is amazingly inexpensive compared to some of the other solutions that perform the same function and they keep releasing new and better features. Wow!

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I couldn't come up with anything that I dislike at all. This is the best solution available for anywhere near the cost of PDQ Deploy. I absolutely love it and couldn't do my job without it.

**Recommendations to others considering PDQ Deploy & Inventory:**

Buy it. If you need to install, patch and/or update software or run commands and scripts on multiple computers, this is your solution. Period.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed a solution to allow me to automatically keep certain software and updates current on computers after normal work hours and for selected groups of computers. This does that easily. I also needed the ability to remotely run scripts or commands on selected computers on schedules that I could define for selected computers or groups of computers. This does that easily. I am able to leverage myself to better maintain and support over 200 workstations and 35 servers by myself and a lot of that is due to PDQ Deploy.

 ### 28. PDQ is the best IT solution for the money

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Ability to deploy software easily and quickly.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I prefer technical support via chat or phone rather than email.

**Recommendations to others considering PDQ Deploy & Inventory:**

For the cost PDQ Deploy is the best solution I've ever used as a system administrator.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deploying baseline software that is needed beyond our normal Windows image.

 ### 29. PDQ is so easy to use!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David N. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Very easy to deploy software packages. I deploy software apps with PDQ instead of struggling to deploy software any other way.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I need to use a VPN to connect laptops outside of the office. We need that PDQ agent, soon.

**Recommendations to others considering PDQ Deploy & Inventory:**

PDQ is easy to learn and easy to get big results!

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Users are not changing their passwords when outside the office on the VPN, the VPN just quits working. I can easily deploy any software package or update via PDQ!

 ### 30. PDQ makes life easy for IT's!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shada L. | It, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I love PDQ and it makes rolling new PC's out happening much quicker so users are not waiting longer than a day for their new pc. It installs the software at ease and very quickly so that IT's are not having to sit there installing one application one by one that the pc needs. Compared to before using PDQ I would have to admit that it is a Godsend. We have been able to update all of our branches pcs much faster since using PDQ. Rebuilds also go faster as we can also schedule installs for specific times. I also like how easy it is to update a package.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I have come to find one issue and it's when creating the package. You have to basically fill in so much target information for it to work or you will have many errors happening when the deployment goes through or tries to run. The licensing is pretty expensive for an entire department. We only use two licensing spots at one time to keep costs down with doing away with spending so much on the program.

**Recommendations to others considering PDQ Deploy & Inventory:**

I think any company in IT should use PDQ. It makes software updates and installs roll more quickly and more efficiently. This should most definitely be used in any IT setting that has a lot of users to assist. So if you are considering PDQ go for it. I highly recommend it.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are basically not having any issues with PDQ since it is only used by us in IT. We usually help one another if there is a question about a specific package that one of us made particularly.

**Official Response from Micaela Wright:**

> We really appreciate your kind review, Shada!

 ### 31. Great product and Company

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Easy to set up. Simple to use. Great Support. Pre-packed deployments.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

There is very little to dislike about PDQ. I dont really have any dislikes. It does what its supposed to do. Would I like more features? Sure, but thats not really a dislike.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remotly deploying packages without user intervention. Automated application upgrades/patching.
PDQ Saves a ton of time. With inventory and deploy together we can see whats on the machines, run remote scripts, patches, and deployments. We can also set it on a schedule.

 ### 32. PDQ Is An Amazing Tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2018

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Using PDQ Deploy we can target devices by name, by IP, by make, by model, by memory - any number of different options! I can target an entire OU, an AD Group, or a single device. Where many products are designed to hit only a wide swath of the network, PDQ can be used to snipe and target specific devices delivering only the necessary updates/files.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Quite honestly - there is nothing I do not like about PDQ Deploy, we have actually expanded our licensing over the years to include more members of our team. If anything, I guess I would say the licensing, as they are a named user license rather than concurrent users.

**Recommendations to others considering PDQ Deploy & Inventory:**

PDQ is an uncomplicated installation - when you implement it you will want to do it in a central server mode and install it on your administrator's workstations. Everything still runs from the central server, but it makes life easier for the admins.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Target updates, system reports that can be written on the fly. Using a mixture of PDQ Deploy and PDQ Inventory we can easily determine how many of our systems are running a specific out of date application, or when they were last rebooted. The product is extremely versatile and the vendor is very responsive to suggestions/problems.

 ### 33. PDQ Deploy (easy)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

It allows me to monitor/deploy patches throughout my info structure with ease. I love the fact they also prebuild packages for many of the most used software apps out there...adobe, windows accumulative, browsers, etc...

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

That it is hard to do upgrade patching. For example for windows 10 if an endpoint is running sp 1909 and you want to upgrade to 21h1, then you have to do it via WUDU, but yet you can use batch/powershell feature in Deploy to deploy the upgrade. I have mixed results doing this. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't work at all. There is no way for the ENDPOINT to receive the reboot command when going this route.

**Recommendations to others considering PDQ Deploy & Inventory:**

It is so easy to learn. Literally, no one in my company knew how to use it, and on the first day, people had a basic understanding of it. IN the first week, we were off to the races with it. The support from PDQ is phenomenal and I pester them constantly with a barrage of questions while I was learning it. Their YOUTUBE channel is so good, I constantly send my new employees there to learn how to use PDQ. The guides and walkthroughs you can find on their YouTube channel and support site are all you really need to know on how to use PDQ and if you keep exploring, it will get you to the advanced stuff easily.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Anything that requires patching. Pair it with PDQ inventory and you have a powerful tool that can help monitor and maintain. The one thing I love about Deploy is the auto-schedule feature. I set it and walk away. Anytime an endpoint that shows up on the network not having a patch and checks in, PDQ deploy grabs it and patches it.

 ### 34. Saves me so much time!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick M. | Senior Help Desk Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

It saves me so much time when deploying new computers, and when updating software.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Takes a little bit of finesse to get setup.

**Recommendations to others considering PDQ Deploy & Inventory:**

Give it a try it is well worth it. We save so much time with just this PDQ Deploy that it has paid for itself multiple times over.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Application updates in minutes. New computer deployments in under 15 minutes with no headache of trying to remember what you did or didn't install. Setup groups to push to, or push out to the whole company. I like that it pings before it tries to install as well so it doesn't waste time.

 ### 35. Impactful Tool for Mass deployment all at an affordable price.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I enjoy the ability to configure multi-step complex deployments so that we can batch deploy installations to our environment effectively reducing our man-hours of hands-on necessity for most projects.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I have no dislikes for this product. It's a strong product worthy of a good review.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We solve situations where we need to remove an application from our environment due to project upgrades, or security concerns. Similarly we are able to deploy new installations in our environment due to project upgrades or not application on-boarding.

 ### 36. PDQ Products are Legit

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Doug K. | Systems Administrator II, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ Inventory allows you to easily create groups based on any aspect of the PC you want. Whether it be hardware, software, even chassis. It allows you to report based off any of these items as well, and really makes keeping track of inventory a breeze.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I do not particularly care for the entry of manual tags or manual tracking, but its necessary, so I can't really complain.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PDQ Inventory has helped us with security patches, knowing who has what programs or versions installed makes it easy to target. It also allows us to keep track of logins on machines, age of inventory, individual site inventory, etc. It really has taken several tasks and handled them automatically.

 ### 37. This has been a game changer for me, especially combined with Deploy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Out of the box, there are lots of applications it inventories. It's easy to add others that are not included. I love that you can see at a glance if who's system is up to date or running an older version. Super easy to run reports and confirm my license usage on any given product. Hardware is not overlooked; I can get detailed specs on any machine so I can plan for upgrades or replacements. You can run scheduled or manual scans, plus it will update automatically after a deployment with PDQ Deploy. The two products are so tightly integrated, its totally worth buying both.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

My one biggest complaint is when it can't connect to a machine. It relies heavily on DNS so if you don't have scavenging of stale DNS records set to something pretty agressive, it can take a couple of days to connect to a machine and reinventory. This was not such a big deal when everyone was still working in the office at least once a week.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having full visibility of all the hardware and software inventories allows me to remain compliant and plan for additional resources as our business grows.

**Official Response from Smarketing PDQ.com:**

If you want to save time, be more efficient, and get fat because you don't need to leave your desk.. PDQ is the golden child for that.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Software deployment in an extremely efficient manner is number one in my book.. No more running from machine to machine for software updates and installs, etc.

**Recommendations to others considering PDQ Deploy & Inventory:**

Deploying software and updates to a small fleet of computers. We do not worry about versions people have of software because they should all be up to date

 ### 41. A great way to manage computers on my domain

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ Inventory is a dead-simple PC inventory software. It's got plenty of features. My favorite is the ability to create reports based on metrics. I've set up a couple of auto-reports to alert me if certain files are changed on the hard drive, and when any user installs new software, I get a weekly report of that.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I miss the agent feature of Inventory. I liked being able to remotely get info on our PCs without them having to be on our network. If they could bring that back somehow, even for an additional cost, that'd be awesome.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can closely monitor software installs, and possible malware activity. I use it in tandem with standard antivirus. I can see which PCs may need upgrading soon, or require complete model refreshes.

**Official Response from Smarketing PDQ.com:**

> Thank you for your review! Would you mind reaching out to feedback@pdq.com so we can send you a thank you gift?

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping up with software version changes quicker with the PDQ inventor and PDQ Deploy has been a great help in my day-to-day work. Deploying jobs is so quick that I have more time to accomplish all the business/user needs and projects.

 ### 44. Essential tool for prepping new systems

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shon O. | Network Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ Deploy has a solid set of pre-packaged installers and they make it easy to create your own custom installers.
The ability to create nested packages makes this software a must have for full system deployments.
I currently have nested packages setup for system groups, a single deploy will install everything from browsers to MS Office products in minutes.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Currently you have to change your VPN setup to be able to push to remote (work form home) systems.

**Recommendations to others considering PDQ Deploy & Inventory:**

Try to free trial and play around with the software, once you see how much more efficient this product can make you or your team, it's an easy sell to management just in time saved.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pushing registry edit keys, updating software and pushing new software to currently deployed systems.
Using PDQ Deploy to prep a new out-of-the-box system has cut my prep time down per machine by hours; the ability to push to multiple machines increases that efficiency even further.
You can also fashion packages to silently uninstall products ranging from full blown software installs to pesky annoyances such as coupon printers and search bars.

 ### 45. Very Helpful Software for Deployment

**Reviewed by:** Terry N. | Technology Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2021

PDQ inventory gives me the ablility to push out all kinds of software for the district. Being able to keep software updated and ready to go.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I do not have any dislikes about this product. It has worked well for me.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems and benefits are that I can push applications out across the organization without physically touching each of the computers. I can also keep them updated with the newest versions or push out more recent versions.

 ### 46. Time saver and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

It's pretty intuitive and easy to use.
I like being able to send installs and walk away
When an install fails, detailed information appears on what step it got to and what might fix this.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

It is costly. If I had another team member or a good grasp of deploying through Group policy, I couldn't justify the cost.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It ensures that I deploy the same software to all machines
It saves me time in going round to install them on each device individually.

 ### 47. Best 3rd party software that fits your needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas T. | Technical Assistance Center Lead Administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2021

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

We use PDQ for many purposes, but it helps with inventory - meaning we could tell how many I5 processors are out there or how many people are running the latest version of Adobe...etc.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

We are ready for the PDQ Agent to return. I want the ability to assist and manage computers that are away from our network.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The most significant benefit is the ability to roll out the latest software versions with a click of the mouse.

**Official Response from Smarketing PDQ.com:**

With PDQ Deploy, it is easy to deploy, update and manage applications and commands.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Sometimes managing multiple deployment schedules can be challenging, but that is likely more of a configuration issue on our side.

**Recommendations to others considering PDQ Deploy & Inventory:**

PDQ Deploy will replace other deployment tools. We currently use GPO for some application deployments, but PDQ can efficiently perform this. The only concern is that the machine has to be locally accessible, not just have internet connectivity.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing third party application deployment and updating

 ### 50. Easy to use and very helpful tool
