I truly appreciate the Paperless Parts team and the dedication they've put into to creating such an incredible tool. They’re always working to find new, innovative ways to improve the product, making our lives easier. While at the same time consistently providing top-notch customer service.

**What do you dislike about Paperless Parts?**

I honestly don't have much negative to say. Whenever I've had an issue/question/concern and brought it to someone's attention, it get's addressed one way or another right away. My biggest "pet peeve" would be that when building an assembly, the system only allows components to be entered as whole numbers. So, it's not possible to list a consumable, such as Loctite, as a fraction or as part of an assembly. As a result, unless you find a workaround, it appears as though you need a full bottle of Loctite for each assembly when integrated.

**What problems is Paperless Parts solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paperless Parts has truly transformed our quoting process, making it significantly faster, easier, and more streamlined. The platform’s features eliminate much of the tedious, time-consuming data entry, allowing me to focus on work that truly adds value. Being able to collaborate with my team directly within the system means we no longer need to be in the same location at the same time, which has removed a major obstacle. The platform also provides clear visibility across the team, ensuring there’s no uncertainty around how a part was quoted or who made specific adjustments. AI-driven insights highlight critical information within prints and files, helping prevent important details from being missed during the quoting phase. We've received numerous compliments from customers about the professional presentation of our quotes, and they appreciate the convenience of being able to place orders online directly from those quotes. Upon receipt of an order, with the click of a button, we're able to integrate all of the information and files directly from the quote into our ERP.

**What do you like best about Paperless Parts?**

I use Paperless Parts for quoting and communicating customer requests to sites. I appreciate that it helps me organize and evaluate customers' needs and costs, which is essential for my work. I really enjoy the workspace, the automation, and the connectivity, especially when it comes to finding material prices. Being able to stay within the ecosystem for answers speeds things up and keeps them accurate. The interface is easy to use, and I love how the automation is highlighted using Purple AI stars. Having online metals and TK materials integrated directly into the quote streamlines the process, making everything move along quickly. Overall, these features make Paperless Parts very valuable to me.

**What do you dislike about Paperless Parts?**

I would like to see more access to the 'Building Rules'. I think there is an opportunity to have more automation right inside Paperless, but it needs to be opened up more.

**What do you like best about Paperless Parts?**

I really appreciate how Paperless Parts is super useful for quoting and plays a key role in reducing the time required to complete a quote. The ease of use is a huge plus for me. Onboarding was so easy because the platform is user-friendly, and updates come out to make it even easier. The Review Rules feature is amazing because it helps me remember little nuances by flagging important data. The system does a great job of flagging previously quoted items, which used to depend on my memory. The search function is also great as it can search across PDFs, notes, and quotes, making it incredibly helpful when quoting similar projects. The transparency it provides between our estimating and sales teams has created a lot of trust. Plus, the setup was very simple and smooth even with many departments involved. Overall, it's a huge improvement from using our Excel breakdowns.

**What do you dislike about Paperless Parts?**

The biggest setback for us is that tooling, check fixtures and parts cannot be on the same line. We love the add-on feature but we need to be able to calculate the tooling and check fixture costs using the routers in Paperless Parts. Right now we have a separate line for parts, tooling and check fixtures. When we have a 20 part package, this quickly becomes a 60 line quote which is overwhelming for the customer to look at.

Paperless Parts reduces quoting time, filters quotes that aren't a good fit, and simplifies access for team members. It's user-friendly, enhances visibility, and eliminates reliance on memory with smart features like Review Rules and data search.

**What do you like best about Paperless Parts?**

In a single word, "Productivity".  Paperless Parts enables our businesses to not only quote faster, but also to work within the specs and GD&T in a way that improves our preparedness and ultimately, our performance.  Other benefits include our ability to work within our entire platform to support our customers' needs through multiple viable outlets.  Cybersecurity is another aspect.  Whether it's the folder content uploads or the DFM engagement, all actions are securely housed within Paperless Parts' system.

**What do you dislike about Paperless Parts?**

The analytics package, which I believe is being overhauled could use some more metrics and details.  Integration with AI regarding wins, losses, no quotes and other aspects would be a game changer.  Knowing Paperless Parts, this is probably already in the works.

**What problems is Paperless Parts solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quoting productivity is the problem that's being solved via Paperless Parts.  Prior to implementation, our quoting response time needed to be sped up so we could meet our customers' expectations.  Now this speed not only enables us to meet their request, but also to responsibly submit more quotes per day, week, month, etc.

Works well for our mix model business. Easy to train on for new estimators and consistant results. They are also very responsive when wanting to make changes or updates. They are also consistently making updating and improvements to the structure.

Cost is only dislike. However for us the benefits outweigh the costs.

Making Fast and Accurate quotes to send out. We quote all items through Paperless and let them live & die in this atmosphere. If we win the quote we push it to our ERP system. If we dont win the quote, it doesn't take up space in our ERP.

not much at this point, only obstacle ive seen its not the best with multicomponent nesting and spreading out setup times. As well as when your importing both mm and inch parts .

Before we use ti give paper quotation and that to have to send it by post or courier, sometime by hand. Now it is very easy and fast to generate the quotation. We send it through email within 5 min all job done. It is saving more time.

**What do you like best about Paperless Parts?**

Paperless Parts is great at identifying features of a part that we might overlook while quoting, and also provides a great template that decreases the total time it takes to quote a part, or package of parts. Using the estimated cycle time feature, we can now quote large parts packages in only a few hours. Paperless parts also provides a professional quote template that we get compliments on all of the time.

**What do you dislike about Paperless Parts?**

The estimated cycle time feature is a great feature, but is a little off at times for larger more complex parts and sometimes we have an issue where outside services such as black oxide arent properly calculated based on the weight of the parts.

**Recommendations to others considering Paperless Parts:**

Paperless Parts will greatly reduce the time spent quoting jobs.

We had a backlog of jobs to quote, which would take forever to do manually. Using a solid model, and having built up a parts history with paperless parts we can quote complex 3+2 milling parts in a mater of minutes.

**What do you like best about Paperless Parts?**

My favorite part about Paperless Parts is that it will automatically calculate an estimated machine run-time if you have a 3D model. This has substantially reduced the amount of time I have to spend talking with our machinists and coming up with a run-time ourselves. It is not always perfect, but it gives you a very good place to start. It will also point out any concerning features that may be problematic on a CNC machine.

**What do you dislike about Paperless Parts?**

I genuinely do not dislike anything about Paperless Parts. If I had to choose one thing I would say that I would like to see more Assembly features included in the growth package. We can't justify purchasing the professional package just for these features.

I believe any job shop/prototyping shop would greatly benefit from Paperless Parts

I have been able to get quotes out much faster and it has reduced the amount of time I have to spend reviewing drawings with our machinists. It has also made me much more organized since I can always go back and reference each quote in detail.

First of all, everything is paperless! All the information is managed electronically, our RFQ staff is really happy about this and our customers can have their information whenever they want.
We also can share their 3D models and share with our members the information on the quoted parts and what jobs we will be processing.

There are some customers and people that are not used to managing everything electronically and don't use the shopping cart to order their parts, they will review the quote and send us a PO.

I enjoy the comments feature to engage with team members on the backside of production, as well as being able to send out emails to clients on geometry or process updates.

I haven't found much I dislike about Paperless. Overall, there are some teething issues as we onboard this, but the Paperless team is on point and very accomodating.

It's a great tool and a leg-up from what we've seen before. The features and tools available and first-in-class and their support team is excellent.

We used to have quite a few unnecessary emails sent out to clients and customers in the past. With this tool we can automate some emails, and selectively (with pre-filled formats!) send out emails to clients regarding updates.

**What do you like best about Paperless Parts?**

Adopting Paperless Parts as the quote management tool for our waterjet cutting shop was one of the best decisions we've ever made. It reduced quote turnaround times substantially and increased the quality and consistency of our quoting documents to the point where we received compliments on the digital quote documents themselves! Along the way, I've been impressed with the strength of support and the evidence that improvements are constantly being rolled out.

**What do you dislike about Paperless Parts?**

The only consistent downsides I can think of are fairly minor interface and workflow quirks. I have complete confidence they will be improved or fixed with time. We've had some issues with processing and viewing large CAD models, but this isn't entirely unexpected.

Try it! Paperless Parts has been an incredible tool.

We are using Paperless Parts as a budgetary quoting tool for our waterjet cutting job shop service. The API's and SDK they make available for their customer base are outstanding for integrations.  Couple that with their highly skilled engineers makes for a perfect combination for a successful rollout.

The one capability I'd like to see added is customer access to their data through sql.  It could be in the form of a tab in the customers web portal or even through the use of a linked server.

We are in the final stages of a rollout but are already seeing the benefits of the software.  For us, the most significant gains will be the turnaround time for quote creation, integration into our current ERP, and accuracy of the quote.

**What do you like best about Paperless Parts?**

It's individually constructed to fit our needs for analyzing and quoting projects.  The software identifies problems and allows us to work with our customers to help resolve these.  Additionally, it enables us to quote and track our quotes with speed and accuracy.   Paperless customer service is quick and very helpful.  The product is constantly updated to meet current and future needs and integrates with our ERP.

Since the product is web-based, it allows us to work remotely and with any computing device available, which increases the speed at which we can reach our customers.

I think they are helping to change the culture of manufacturing by automating and innovating the digital environment.  It's not just about quoting the process; it's rethinking how to make the process work for both the shop and the customer.

**What do you dislike about Paperless Parts?**

I wish it worked better with Safari.

My wish is that Paperless would morph into an ERP, but it appears that they are aligning themselves with Pro Shop, which seems to be a fine program, not entirely of Paperless design or culture but we are planing to switch our ERP to Pro Shop.

Paperless handles assemblies well and reduces our work by hours. 

Customers comment and like the way we can communicate with Paperless and the speed at which it happens.

**What do you like best about Paperless Parts?**

Paperless Parts has a very good understanding of custom parts manufacturers because of their managements' experience of owning and operating successful custom parts manufacturing businesses. Out of all the quoting platforms available to us, they were the most attractive because we felt they knew more about what we needed on the back end and front end of the software than their competitors. They have streamlined the quoting process for job shops.

**What do you dislike about Paperless Parts?**

Although their processes are very good overall, I hope Paperless Parts makes it possible to customize the orders of items for the 'Processes', 'Materials', and 'Finishes' on the RFQ form so our customers have a more seamless and frictionless experience. I have been asking for this update for awhile now and a couple weeks ago, after my last inquiry into this, they did upgrade the orders of the items in the above mentioned lists so that they are in alphabetical order. This is definitely an improvement, but I would think that with the software and technology available this day in age, it wouldn't be that challenging for Paperless Parts to make it so shops like us can customize the orders of the items in these lists according to how we want them to appear for our customers. This is especially important for our lists in which we have more extensive options. We would like to put our most popular or marketable options first so that most of our customers don't need to scroll through the whole list to find what they are looking for. We think a lot of Paperless Parts and their mission to help job shops like us, and I just think that if they want to be the very best they can be, they need to make this improvement. We are still hoping they will do it sometime soon and other than this, have been very happy with their services.

Overall, the Paperless Parts quoting software is excellent and the best that we've found after researching other competitors. As I mentioned above, there are things that can always be improved upon, but we feel that Paperless Parts is trying to continuously improve its software and we are hoping it will continue to evolve in ways that will help us provide an even better experience for our customers.

We have been able to reduce quoting times and streamline the process for delivering quotes to customers. This has made it much easier to do business with our clients this day in age. Paperless parts also makes it possible to keep track of all your orders and have good data to look back on over time. This is very helpful for business analytics and business development.

The only thing I wish the system had was a better accounting-based report for sales.

Paperless Parts is a good system that will take what you have developed using spreadsheets or other systems for quoting and incorporate that data into their process.  You will get out what you put into it so if you understand your costs and how they drive your quotes then you should end up with a good product.  If you don't know what you are doing don't expect Paperless to give you the quoting tools that you don't already have.

before we had Paperless we were using several spreadsheets to calculate how much to charge for parts, this has been completely eliminated and the formulas have now been built into our system and the quotes are very fast.

**What do you like best about Paperless Parts?**

I really love the part viewer and the ability to comment and highlight features. It's really helpful when we receive a new order or quote for me as the sort of admin person, to give everything a quick sniff test and call out important features or tolerances for whoever will be programming/machining the parts.

**What do you dislike about Paperless Parts?**

When collecting our income data, it can be a bit of a pain. When I look at the order pages, I can see if an order was PO or CC which helps a lot. But I only see the order amount and not the CC fees. I can see the order total and net payout after viewing the individual order page, but it'd be nice to also have the CC fees called out. It would also be helpful to see the date that we received the payment.

We've had the huge benefit of no longer manually quoting jobs. That was previously our biggest bottleneck and kept us from increasing our revenue as we only had one person capable of quoting jobs, but that was also the person who was best at programming so we'd lose active job time to trying to quote a job.

**What do you like best about Paperless Parts?**

For me, one of the biggest draws I have for paperless parts is the experience it provides to my customers and the consistency of quote it gives me. The geometry analysis system that paperless uses is second to none. I've worked with Paperless to cater and tweak the back end, so it quotes my parts accurately and consistently with almost no adjustment on my end giving me more time to focus elsewhere as I am growing my business.

**What do you dislike about Paperless Parts?**

The only dislike I have with the Paperless Parts is if you are working on a large quote or complex assembly, it can feel a little convoluted. Due to the way things are laid out, it typically involves a lot of scrolling to view all the relevant information related to what you are working on.

**What problems is Paperless Parts solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since I have been using Paperless Parts, I have had multiple customers give me positive feedback related to the quote submission form on my website and the presentation in the digital quote. This helps me emphasize to them that my business cares about providing a top-tier experience. For my own direct benefit, the analysis engine and automatic DFM review saves me headache trying to review every detail on every item I quote.

**What do you like best about Paperless Parts?**

The automatic geometry analysis is awesome. It allows us to quickly evaluate parts for manufacturability and it generates time estimates automatically for quoting a variety of materials and manufacturing processes.

**What do you dislike about Paperless Parts?**

The Orders workflow seems a little disconnected from the rest of the software, with references to legacy features that no longer exist. It's also not very flexible, so you can't modify an existing order without cancelling it and placing a new one.
Credit card fees when using their payment processing are on the high side at 5%, so we encourage our customers to place a PO and process payment through our accounting software instead.

**What do you like best about Paperless Parts?**

Paperless Parts is a visually appealing quoting software that can be customed tailored to give estimates for programming, set-up and run times based on the interrogation of a 3D model.  The estimates will provide pricing specific to your shop based on the design of the part, the material of the part, and the method in which the part will be manufactured.  The Paperless Part Team can also customize their software to meet any needs you may have and they usually make those changes within hours.  We have been using their software since March of 2021 and I am extremely impressed.  The software lets you know if you have quoted a part before and if so, allows you to pull all the previous information from the previous quote into a new quote.  Another feature that is extremely useful is you can annotate features on a part that are problematic for manufacturing and invite the customer to chat about the feature or allow them to swap files out with new design changes.  These are but a few of many features to name that Paperless Parts has to offer job shops and they continually add more weekly/monthly.

**What do you dislike about Paperless Parts?**

Most things that I have dis-liked have been changed almost immediately.  

Some things that I dislike that they are working on are:  
I dislike the saving/load time when inputting times or adding notes to processes.  

I do not like how their software forces assembly CAD models to be broken down into their assembly components.  Sometimes customers don't want hardware installed or you to quote the entire assembly.

Any problem we have had, the Paperless Parts Team has addressed it within the hour and usually implements a change.  

We have helped them iron out small flaws in their system and they have been extremely appreciative of the suggestions we have made to improve their software.  Their customer service is as good or better than Amazon's and as fast as Jimmy Johns.  You cant ask for more than that in a company!

I like the ability to create and modify our processes and operations. The ability to define the pricing formulas based on features and logic is a huge advantage.

There are a few enhancements that I would like to see in future releases—namely, the ability to turn on and off features to be included in the calculation of pricing. But "dislike" is a harsh word - there isn't anything I "dislike". I would like to see a more seamless integration with our current ERP system.

I would suggest that if you are selecting a new ERP system that you make sure it integrates well with Paperless Parts.

**What do you like best about Paperless Parts?**

It has an easy-to-follow flow that is well laid out.  The geometry engine and algorithms to calculate run times are solid and accurate.  The actual quotes look great and can be tailored to be just enough "geeky" for high-end tech customers building advanced AI-driven automation but remain very accessible for our working artist customers too.  Our quotes are the first documents our customers receive from us - they need to reflect who we are.

Tech support is fast and anticipatory.  It's nice to have them go the extra mile without often asking - or, worst, begging.  

Quoting is essential, but it is not why we are in business.  Paperless seems to have gotten this fact about our company and has our back.  Our focus is to make obscenely happy customers, verging on cult-like fandom.  It's nice to have a partner in our corner - who is behaving as we try...  Hmmm... Were we separated at birth?

I love grid-based database tools.  You know looks like excel but is an editing tool.  Think SlickGrid GitHub or the many dev products that have cropped up over the last 15 years.

One of the most helpful things about Paperless Parts is the clear and intuitive way it lays out customer quotes.  Questions such as possible expedites or different price points are all included.  It's kind of like the iPhone version of estimating software.  Seamless and intuitive.

The biggest challenge is in the transition.  It's very different from how we're used to doing things. It's really a paradigm shift. The one thing I do not like is not being able to alter a quote once complete.

Customers love the ability to forward the quote which contains everything needed, to other players on their team.  It really eliminates the back-and-forth usually experienced between purchasing and engineering.  Super helpful showing the rendering of the part on the quote as well!  I was initially not enthused about changing to Paperless Parts but would highly recommend it now.

I've only been using paperless for a short period of time, but it allows me to quickly establish consistent run time estimates on parts based on geometry in the solid models. It's great to work right from the solid model and also have the ability to send the files to vendors and team mates right from within the software.

The onboarding process took a long time, especially integrating paperless to send jobs to our existing shop management software. Still, their team got it figured out even though we presented some unique challenges.

It has nothing to do with the paperless side, but some of the integration into other apps has been tedious. Customer service usually steps in and helps us find fixes, so that's a definite plus.

We work primarily from .pdf files, not 3D models, so the system cannot alert if there is already a similar file or part in the system when uploading a new part. Paperless Parts has really simplified our quoting process.  Being able to upload and utilize the information on CAD files took several steps out of our process.  It's also great to be able to store all info obtained for the quote in one digital location.

I feel like finding a quote could be improved - for something recently entered, especially.  Also, making a revision of a quote resets metrics, so we've just learned we have to "copy" instead of "revise".

Repeat items being able to re-quote.  Having the proper routings and outside processing.  Assembly breakdowns for quotes with purchased items is very user friendly.  Use of the solid models to generate material size.

The delay in processing some files.  When a quote has a large amount of line items it slows down the process and the quoting.  Not being able to (add new) in a vendor or a type of finish or material right in that particular quote.

Capturing the entire pricing of goods with all of the outside processing and internal processes.  Being able to easily re-quote repeat items by just changing material pricing or any pricing that has changed. I like the ability to have much of the administration work done for me.  This ability saves me a lot of time on quotes.   I also like that the Paperless Parts team is really open to adding features to the platform.

There are times that the site slows way down, which can be frustrating.  The integration with our current EPS system was a struggle.  The times savings really only comes when you get a slid file which we don't alwasy get.

The time it takes to turn around of an RFQ that has a lot of parts on them or is a large assembly.  The standardization of quotes has been great; there are a lot fewer variations in the RFQ Items.

Everything pushes nicely to email. Most of the core intended functions of the software work quite well.

Quote builder only allows to expand one item at a time. Geometry viewer is limited. Some features are hidden are antiquated in ways that create frustrating limitations.
