## Pantheon Reviews
  ### 1. Great host for people with technical skills

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emer K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Pantheon automatically gives each site a dev, test, and staging server and has a good workflow. Code is pushed up, content is pushed down. It also automatically backs up each server on a daily and weekly schedule and has a CDN and page cache. It works in git or SFTP Mode, and has a multi-dev environment too. It also has nice error alert features and great security.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

This host takes a bit of getting used to for non-technical users. I use it with my clients and handle their hosting for them. I imagine I would have a hard time training a non-technical client in managing the hosting and teaching them the process for updating plugins and pushing the code up.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Sign up for free and try out a sandbox site. It's free and will give you a chance to get to know the tools before you commit.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Pantheon for my business as I built a lot of WordPress sites, and Pantheon has great tools to improve its speed, security, and stability. I also enjoy the flexibility of being able to work quickly in git or SFTP mode. Their customer service has always been great too, very helpful, and responsive.

**Official Response from Adam Arthur:**

> Thanks for your review, Emer. We're glad to hear your WordPress websites are performing well and that you're enjoying the developer tools and workflows.

  ### 2. Recommendable Software for Website Development

Pantheon has all teh infrastructure which makes sites more relevant and responsive.
Support is immeasurable, hence, swift.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Pantheon manages all websites integrations, helps in hosting matters, and fastens the launching.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pantheon has direct help in matters website.
From the developer launch help, to even hosting.

  ### 3. Pantheon Dashboard Pros and Cons

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

I like the ease of pushing and pulling data between environments

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

I dislike some of the opinionated server constraints such as not offering a tool to manage databases or to setup server cron processes. Also having no control over script timeouts is frustrating for certain functionality I've written. Caching on development environment is totally unnecessary for me and consistently a pain point

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Site security seems to be improved. Not needing to mess around with SSL is nice. Backups are also hands off now when compared to other setups I've used which is good.

**Official Response from Francois Nze:**

> Hey there, I just wanted to say thank you for submitting this insightful review. We are constantly working on improving our user experience so this is super valuable.

  ### 4. I use it for my job and it works fine

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evan A. | Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

I like that I can easily download a copy of my site to work on and either push directly to Pantheon, or use something like Bitbucket to host the code and Pantheon updates pretty quickly.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Sometimes guides are a little hard to find, so usually I google a question about pantheon, find the guide that way, and then leave it open in a tab until I need it again.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

This could be a good fit, but it doesn't hurt to look around at other web hosting.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Just website hosting. We have a lot of sites, but the ease of creation is nice.

**Official Response from Francois Nze:**

> Hi Evans. Glad to hear that you're finding value in our hosting. I appreciate your feedback on the guides, and we are actively working to improve our documentation and most importantly the experience.

  ### 5. Pantheon is terrific all-around platform for hosting your WordPress or Drupal sites!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

I like the 24-hour service they provide, where I can chat with their - extremely - customer service at any of the time of day or night... that 24-hour availability was most important factor in choosing between platforms.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

I'd like to be able to host multiple CMS from a single instance, if necessary

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

As an all-around hosting option for Drupal and WordPress, Pantheon is a great option!

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We host multiple sites within our organization and Pantheon provides the best solution.

  ### 6. Reliability + Power at scale

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua F. | Director of Innovation & Strategy, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Strong community. Flexibility in environment as well as maintaining environments.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Upstream issues can be troublesome but they are quick to remidy. eComm workflow for updaating site.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Join the community/slack channel. Cost can be a bit high but the more sites you get on there the cheeper it becomes.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Multi-tier environment. Theme rollouts.

  ### 7. Fast, reliable hosting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

I love how Pantheon offers 3 environments for testing, so our live website is never effected.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Sometimes the dashboard is down or they have infrastructure issues that effect my website.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Able to avoid downtime on live website by testing new plugins and website updates on the dev and test environments first.

  ### 8. Good hosting for certain workflows/sites - support is not great.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

The developer features (multi-dev, versioning, etc.) are all great - the workflow is not for every site, but there are workarounds (ie, sites with multiple externally versioned components etc) and decent documentation for everything else. New Relic integration, ease of cloning/updating sites from dev/test/live etc is fantastic, and uptime is near perfect.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

The customer support is really terrible. They do nothing but send links to documents.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Faster load times, better support for some legacy code, ability to handle unplanned traffic spikes, etc.

**Official Response from Francois Nze:**

> Hi, I'm sorry to hear that you've had a negative support experience. We will use your review to improve as we want every customer to feel valued and supported. Support should help you fix your issue and not just sending you links that aren't useful. Thank you for the honest feedback.

  ### 9. Customer support is very good in pantheon.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

The UI in Pantheon is very user-friendly and easy to understand.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

When there is any outage/issues, I would like to get notified

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I had a deployment recently for one of my projects, I had so many questions regarding the deployment, and I reached out to pantheon support.

  ### 10. Longtime user

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

The user interface is the best around everything is simple and just works

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Its a bit on the pricey side but worth it

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Definitely use them if you want to save time on devops

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy deployment and backups saves a lot of devops time.

  ### 11. Reliable, sensible hosting.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chamath E. | Cloud Solutions Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Agile developer flow that doesn't let you take shortcuts to send something live - needs to pass through dev and staging. Code changes made through FTP must be committed. Multi-dev environments where you can develop components in isolation. Easy to update WordPress/Drupal cores using the provided upstream branch. Never had an issue with performance. Unlimited backups. Support team can be reached in a matter of minutes via live chat.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Bit costly when hosting a basic website. Solr indexing provided by Pantheon is quite an old version.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A managed host that we offer to our clients without worrying about complexity or reliability. Ability to test components independently outside the local environment. Pantheon provides a great, up-to-date core base to built new sites upon.

**Official Response from Adam Arthur:**

> Chamath, thank you for your review. Glad to hear that you're finding value in our workflows and easy updates. Also happy to hear that our Support Team has proven available and valuable to you.

  ### 12. Live Saver

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

The dashboard functions are beneficial and the overall stability and safety

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

We honestly love Pantheon from the staff to the service there is nothing to dislike

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Overall they have helped us to focus on what we do best. With other hosts, we didn't sleep much because we were always worried something was going to go down. Since we have moved to Pantheon we have had little to no outages, and our efficiency has increased tenfold.

  ### 13. Good hoster - fast loading time and high uptime

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clarissa F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Moving our domain to the new hosting provider was very easy and the hoster did all the bureaucratic work for us. I find it very good that we can see all the functions in the admin panel and can independently activate or deactivate extensions.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Registering new domains now takes a long time and a lot of additional information is obtained each time.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can host our company homepage efficiently with this hoster. The homepage speed is very good and there are no server problems or failures. The homepage loads quickly and the databases are also very quickly accessible.

**Official Response from Francois Nze:**

> Hello, Clarissa. We're delighted to hear that you're finding value in Pantheon. Thanks for the feedback!

  ### 14. Excellent service, and an easier way to develop high-performing sites.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Pantheon's "opinionated" platform is well thought out, and the setup saves tons of development time compared to more basic hosting plans. Pantheon may as well be the gold standard for how to host -- how to keep sites running well, how to avoid common development problems, and how to develop more quickly because you're not fiddling around with creating a custom setup that keeps things running well.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

The Pantheon Dashboard, once excellent, is now a barely functional mess. They said that a new version is coming soon, but I wish it hadn't broken so badly in the meantime. The problems don't stop me from getting things done, but they make certain tasks more confusing and a little slower than they need to be. I hope that they fix all the dashboard problems soon.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Pantheon just works. See whether their plans are in your ballpark budget, and if they are, see if you can partner with a Pantheon-approved agency to get preferred pricing. You'll probably save money on the development end of things because your developer(s) will spend less time dealing with hosting-related issues like they would on many other hosting platforms.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We don't have to worry about sites going down due to cowboy coding, poorly-coded plugins, unexpected updates, or sudden spikes in traffic. We've experienced a number of avoidable disasters before we moved to Pantheon, and now things run well.

**Official Response from Adam Arthur:**

> Joe, thanks for taking time to review Pantheon. Glad to hear that you're finding value on Pantheon and that our service and website development. Appreciate the feedback on our dashboard and this is something we're actively working on (and are glad that you're finding workarounds in the meantime).

  ### 15. The workflow system has a very high learning curve for people who manage their websites but arent IT

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

the security of the workflow system is great.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

i wish there was a better walkthrough for how to use.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps with making edits that don't show up live immediately.

  ### 16. It keeps our website up and running very well. I also like the nightly backup.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

I like that my site is backed up nightly.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

For someone who is a novice, it can be hard to figure out at times.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving hosting for a larger site.

  ### 17. Nice dev environments and file / db migration between each

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

One of the nice features of Pantheon is how easy it is to migrate from a dev environment to production. As most WordPress developers know it's difficult to migrate files and a database between local, dev, staging and production environments

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Not being able to ssh into the containers is a big draw back. For most users i'd think Pantheon is sufficient to host their WordPress website. Then there are people who want access to their entire infrastructure. I'd like to b able to use my own image maybe with a base image from Pantheon and have ssh access to the container

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

If you need a WordPress environment to easily develop on with a hands off approach to your infrastructure Pantheon is good. If you expect surges in traffic, high traffic sites and full control of your environment you may want to consider one of the big cloud providers AWS/GCP/Azure

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easily hosting WordPress and developing in multiple environments while allowing people on different teams to continuously contribute content.

  ### 18. Great hosting provider

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

core update via upstream and sandbox options, looking forward to managed updates and advances CDN rollout. They have a great support team and go above and beyond to assist with support and scaling.

Having the ability to spin up a drupal site in minutes and be up and running with the most current version of drupal is amazing.

the added support models and the overall cost make pantheon one company to consider

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

single git branching, no connection to github, sometimes a slight delay when releasing upstream drupal security patches. I find another difficulty is the time zone, they are located on the west cost and are 3 hours behind, so shecualling meetings can be an issue

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

a great hosting service with great support. fantastic pricing models and an eye for the future, they keep adding to their platform and making it even better

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

easy to spin up simple drupal sites. nice sandboxing options. can activate and freeze sites when needed.
We often have requests to create a testing site as a proof of concept or a registration page for a conference, Pantheon makes this super quick and easy

  ### 19. The Pantheon "WebOps" solution Made my Life Easier!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

I think Pantheon is really setting a genuine trend in web development. Their "WebOps" solution really streamlines the overall development process and puts the concept of 'iteration' to the forefront. An open-source website (Drupal or WordPress) is truly dynamic (by its very nature) and requires the participation of many stakeholders in the website development process. This might include marketers, designers, coders, and UI/UX, developers. Pantheon affords a project-management like a platform to perform their work in.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

I would like to see phone support be incorporated in some of the lower-level plans.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

The WebOps concept is innovative and requires a little mind-shift, however if your developers start using it, they will love it.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since we are a company that has to work with various skill-levels (of developers)...it is very useful to have GIT branches build-into our hosting platform. GIT branches afford a separate and distinct sand-box type of environment thus allowing our junior developers to test their changes in while not impacting the live site at the same time.

**Official Response from Adam Arthur:**

> Thanks for your positive review. We appreciate your feedback on phone support.

  ### 20. Sleek and Robust Drupal Hosting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Support is quick and clear. The system is set up in a way that makes sense. The hosting itself is very fast, and I haven’t experienced any downtime to speak of.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Dev sites time out (not a huge deal since they wake up after one ping), and deploying can be slow at times, but I can’t think of anything else I really dislike about Pantheon.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping up with multiple environments for dev, test, and live has been a huge pain for me over the years. Deployment was sometimes messy and not consistent. After moving several client sites to Pantheon, I no longer worry about the hardware and I can focus on building web applications.

**Official Response from Adam Arthur:**

> Thanks for your review. Great to hear that you're finding value in our WebOps Platform, especially with the Dev, Test, and Live environments.

  ### 21. Really good hosting with great tools to ease your work

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mario S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

The developer experience is great. Having different environments in order to test new features before going live really ease our work, and the deployment of these environments is pretty straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Depending on the project, for small webs mainly, it could be a bit expensive.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

If you can afford it, give it a try and test the workflow between different environments, we really like that. We're using it with WordPress, and I would recommend to install their cache plugin as well.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wanted a hosting that I can trust and focus on the code of my web. We haven't had any problems yet and the way Pantheon workflows are designed really ease the developer experience. I really like being able to have different environments per branch and the deploy to these different environments, to test new things before going live, is pretty straightforward. Apart from that, their cache strategy is great and it solved some problems we were looking to solve.

So far, it's great that we don't have to care that much about the hosting, Pantheon seems it's stable and we haven't encountered any issues.

**Official Response from Adam Arthur:**

> Mario, thanks for reviewing Pantheon. Great to hear that you're experiencing with our WebOps Platform is going well.

  ### 22. Reliable hosting of the homepage

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** IRMGARD S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

I use the service to host our CMS (WP). Perfect connection and pre-installed CMS are very good. The very good and fast responding support is outstanding.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

From time to time there are connection problems and updates of the server during normal office hours - this should happen in the middle of the night.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am satisfied with the hosting - the homepage loads quickly and rarely has a connection problem. The simply designed admin area makes the work easy - we can see all functions in the dashboard at a glance. The price is okay for a premium provider.

**Official Response from Francois Nze:**

> Hello, we appreciate you taking the time to share your overall great experience using Pantheon. We've also received your feedback on the server updates and I want you to know that we are tirelessly working on eliminating any service disruptions for our customers.

  ### 23. Lead web developer

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Aside from the DrupalCon parties? The customer service is great.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Can be expensive if you aren't an enterprise with a big budget.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Website ecosystems

  ### 24. Pantheon Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

The ability to have multiple environments to work with.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

No having the ability to do many server side manipulation.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Websites and Web Applications

  ### 25. Full featured and dependable, just how it's supposed to be.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Doug V. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

The ease with which I can add team members to a project and keep the workflow moving quickly by leveraging a proper three stage development system.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Backing up sites with either large databases and/or large file systems seems to take extremely long.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Stop trying to engineer your own fragmented processes. Instead, use Pantheon, the trusted and proven WebOps solution that lets you focus more on billable tasks!

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick team onboarding. Quick prototyping of concepts. Worry-free updates due to easy backup recovery. The ability to use multi-dev to give a client to different perspectives on their site. Knowing my customers will have speedy sites even if their traffic suddenly increases.

**Official Response from Adam Arthur:**

> Doug, thanks for your review and feedback. We're pleased to hear that Pantheon is a great platform for you and that you've found the onboarding process, developer tools, and Dev, Test, and Live environments to be valuable.

  ### 26. Advanced IT tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Claire M. | Senior Account Executive, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

I am a satisfied customer of Pantheon, I have initiated it for our new projects and to tackle all the issue related to technical handling of the data. It is unlike any DevOps, DXP, and Hosting application and advanced in its working as a WebOps tool. My whole team, including our web developers and our editors has found it very reliable in its operation because overall it has boosted the efficiency of our processes and helped in automation, thus we have got rid o the repetitive tasks as well.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

I am its new customers and still I am discovering its amazing qualities with every passing day. It has overcome my organization with its essential and effective tool, which has added to our business value.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

I will like to recommend this tool with full zest to web developers and web editors no matter whether they are in initial stages of business set up or whether they are large organization. It will secure your data and provide you much ease in your work.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its configuration has allowed us to open source stack for increasing the process efficiency and stability. Also it is very much concerned regarding security. Now I am not concerned about the working of the servers neither we are worried about any complex coding.

**Official Response from Adam Arthur:**

> Claire, thank you for the positive review. We're glad to hear that you're finding value from our WebOps Platform and ways to optimize workflows and enable collaboration amongst your team.

  ### 27. Great Whiteglove Service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua P. | Senior Web Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

The dashboard is very intuitive, providing site owners and admins complete control over development, testing and deployment. The dedicated environments for each phase are phenomenal! Support docs are also very complete and comprehensive.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Not many dislikes here. Some of the plugins in WordPress plugin library do not work properly, but Pantheon documentation clearly outlines this.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

If you need to implement on WordPress or Drupal in a scalable, continuous fashion, go with Pantheon.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Installing and maintaining WordPress when otherwise not possible with existing institution infrastructure. We have benefitted from the quick setup process to move an existing WordPress site into Pantheon. Extremely straightforward!

  ### 28. Pantheon Made a Hard Job Easy

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

I love that Pantheon enabled me to take my time working on building out an entire overhaul of my client's website while allowing me to push bug fixes to the live site in the meantime.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

The docker/localdev environment was *almost* plug and play. For whatever reason, it was slow to spin up and I often had to open up my docker instance and restart certain containers to get it running.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can take on full-scale Wordpress overhauls without taking my clients' site's down or putting them into maintenance mode. It gives me more development time and it takes pressure off of the client.

**Official Response from Adam Arthur:**

> Joe, thanks for your review.

  ### 42. Shockingly Useful

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Fine Art | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Being able to spin up development sites in seconds that use the same architecture as live sites. Deploying code and managing workflow is simple and fast. Good basic support team that responds quickly.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Limits on dev team collaboration, workflow flexibility, and github integration in the lower price-points. Drupal 8 use of composer project management doesn't integrate as tightly with Pantheon's native workflow as we'd like.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

If you are a control freak for workflow and branching models, be prepared to use minor workarounds, and/or opt for the more expensive Multi-Dev enabled plans.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have small teams and are creating proof of concept products. Pantheon helps us to spin those up quickly and reliably on the hardware the products will eventually be deployed on.

  ### 43. Great UI and Maintainability

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

The ability to have multiple environments and the built in enhanced devops infrastructure is unique to Pantheon. Also automated backups are included as an option which is a huge plus.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Pantheon is experiencing a lot of growth so sometimes there is a wait for support, but overall the support is excellent and always comes through.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been able to host multiple applications and websites each with their own pantheon instance. The containerized approach has made code developments, updates, and patching very easy and straightforward.

**Official Response from Adam Arthur:**

  ### 46. Great Wordpress and Drupal Hosting for Agencies

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Easy user interface and structure for setting up and maintaining your Wp and Drupal sites. Nice split between dev/test/live environments. Easy DNS setup and love the automatic SSL licensing. Really good support, too. I've tried a lot of hosting services, so far, I like this one the best.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Pushing Git updates is confusing at fist. Gets better when you work more on it. Moving between SFTP and Git is challenging when saving work or updating files. Takes a bit.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Well worth a look for agencies to be a preferred opartmer

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pricing is good, great for agencies. If you want a free service, this isn't it. But, great service overall and if you have multiple clients, its' a great service.

  ### 47. Easy, reliable hosting & deployment infrastructure for CMS

Getting deployment environments up quickly and easily when working with distributed teams and clients.

**Official Response from Francois Nze:**

> Thank you for your review Myrrh. Glad to hear that you're finding value in Pantheon's interface and workflows.

  ### 48. Useful developer tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kirill S. | Search Engine Optimization Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

The dev flow that allows us to update through GIT or through WP admin without messing up git flow.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

The price of the tool - for some of the simpler WP projects it's not worth hosting.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Good for more complex sites, not great for brochure wordpress sites, just because of the cost associated with it.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Multiple developers working on one project, and letting clients jump in sometimes and make last minute changes.

SFTP / Git merger helps with that a ton.

**Official Response from Adam Arthur:**

> Thanks for your review and feedback, Kirill.

  ### 49. Pantheon is a great platform and I would definitely recommend it to friends and colleagues.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

I like how easy it is to move the database and files between different environments. I also like creating multi-dev environments. Taking backups is also easy. Support is great too!

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Creating a multi-dev sometimes takes longer than expected.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Pantheon to host client websites. It is beneficial to have dev, test, and live environments. Also, having the ability to create multi-dev environments is also great.

**Official Response from Francois Nze:**

  ### 50. A Flexible, Modern Workflow

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

The multiple environment setup, having been an old school WordPress guy who'd create dev environments for sites then migrate them, this is a really huge step forward. Having a dev, test and live environment is quite powerful.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Some of the functionality in the documentation is over my head as far as not being a full fledged developer. It's great to have the functionality there, I've just found myself being frustrated at times when things switch from gui based to command line. With that being said, the support is great to help me through some of those challenges that I've run into.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralizing a lot of different technologies and CMSs in one place. Previously we'd been running our own servers, so moving things to the cloud have definitely improved the overall experience of managing our websites. I have enjoyed working with the Localdev tool for doing WordPress development. Being able to bring local development into the flow of things with Pantheon.

**Official Response from Adam Arthur:**

> Thanks for the review. Awesome to hear that you've adapted and found value within our platform. Thanks for the feedback on our documentation (but we're happy to hear that our Support team has been helpful to you).
