## Pantheon Reviews
  ### 1. Takes the worry and stress out of Hosting and DevOps

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

The DEV / TEST/ Production workflow makes deploying and testing easy.
Having Multi-dev environments so multiple developers can work on a busy project is invaluable.
AUTOMATIC backups of multiple environments!
AutoPilot makes routing maintenance less of a burden. It allows us to bring in non-technical people to do the visual regression checks.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

amount of memory per container especially on image intensive sites.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMS hosting that is reliable. This has helped us spend more time developing than managing hosting platforms.

  ### 2. Incompetent support and account management means you can't use what you're paying for

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

When you can use the product, it works OK.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

No support, even if you're paying for it. Account manager is a ghost. Sales promises everything, puts it in writing, and STILL the company cannot deliver what they've said they'll deliver.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our previous site host was solid but slow. We were looking to improve performance and leverage a dev/test/live site capability. I'd used Pantheon before and this worked well, so when I came to my new company, it seemed like a good move to bring Pantheon in.

**Official Response from Pantheon Platform:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are very sorry to hear that you didn’t have the best experience with us. We aim for much greater satisfaction than you described in your review. If you are willing, please reach out to us at PantheonPeerReviews@pantheon.io and give us another chance to address it.

  ### 3. Phenomenal Partner

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anice B. | Marketing Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

We have been working with Pantheon since 2018 and we are extremely happy with the service. It is extremely rare that we experience downtime on prod or dev. The support team is incredibly responsive with tickets and responsive

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

There is not much I dislike about Pantheon, however my only complaint is that there is no managed services for login attempts and all of the reporting and vetting of IP addresses is on the client

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hosting, content management, web ops

  ### 4. Easy interface and great customer service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony J. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Ease of Administration, Site and Platform related notifications, Technical Support Quality.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Feature limitations. One example is we can not currently delete workspaces.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing us a neutral hosting service distinct and separate from other Web Partner relationships. Local ownership over hosting account.

  ### 5. Horrible company

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Nothing to like at all. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

I am a professional developer and I work with dozens of servers. The Pantheon set up is horrible and very buggy. Customer service is inept and takes way too long to diagnose / solve issues. The dev-test-live workflow does not work well, and neither does multidev. I am stuck with dealing with them since my enterprise client has a contract with them.
Avoid at all costs.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing. They are horrible and I would not recommend them at all to anyone.

  ### 6. Mindful workflows, automation for scale

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

As a developer, my favorite feature is the Terminus CLI. We were able to use this to create automation that is specific to our product needs.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

In my opinion, they've placed too much emphasis on headless websites, which feels counterintuitive when their focus is on Drupal and WordPress. My organization would also love to see a HIPAA-compliant hosting option.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pantheon allows our team to function without needing a dedicated DevOps engineer.

  ### 7. Intuitive, versatile and simple software for hosting and administration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anne S. | Data Research Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

It is one of the best SaaS providers, where multiple development environment is supported for efficient teamwork. I love that it provides mini documentation on the dashboard and the step by step guide is really helpful. The code can be written in an introductory style without requiring any high technical knowledge. It offers significantly improved efficiency and ensures excellent uptime. Automatic backups that take place on a regular basis are a great help. I like that the servers are quite promising and work great during product launches. Their support team is also knowledgeable and efficient and provides perfect support in a timely manner.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Using the Pantheon environment can be confusing for new users or customers who want to verify and directly participate in the editing process. The price is a bit high, especially for mid-tier companies. May not be the best option for businesses or smaller websites due to hosting costs. It can be a bit challenging to get started, but there are plenty of tips and tutorials to help you understand the workflow.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pantheon keeps our work free from cyberattacks, which is one of the things that we will consider a determining factor any day. It provides us with a complete hosting solution that helps to efficiently manage multiple websites and ensures automatic updates and upgrades over the Internet. The data analysis tool is quite brilliant and helps us to analyze the company's database quite well. The server administration part is completely done by pantheon software and therefore our products become fully scalable automatically. Thanks to this tool we optimize the website on a monthly basis and the software even helps to provide better security to the database and other important credentials.

  ### 8. Excellent customer service, excellent hosting, opaque pricing.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Customer service is always responsive and helpful. Multidev environments and git workflow make development and collaboration easy.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Pricing tiers are opaque and based on a hidden analytics method that fails to match the results of any other analytics platform.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By incorporating the Git workflow, Pantheon has integrated our hosting needs with our development workflow. This saves us time and makes collaboration among developers easy.

  ### 9. Very professional and awesome service for building websites

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stefan Z. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

It's very professional, it has all the features you need to build a professional, well-maintained website and if you don't have time it also has great automation features to take care of the site for you!

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Nothing, I like everything! The only that might be a downside for some users is that it's very dev. So if you are not a developer or someone who is familiar with code, git and these concepts, you might have a hard time using some of the features. And in general, even the non-dev features seem more professionally oriented and might be more difficult to use for basic users(who have never made a website and have never coded). But then again, as I can see, it's made for developers and business customers, I don't think it's aimed at basic users, so if you are not a professional user or if you have never done this before, it might not be for you, but otherwise, it's one of the best I have used, it's amazing!

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Well, I am not solving a business problem right now, I am building a website for my university, but one business problem I can see it solves is the maintenance of the website if you are a busy business professional. As I said, it has great automation features that can take care of the website for you if you don't have time for maintenance but still want to keep the site properly maintained.

  ### 10. Incredible platform for creating web content

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chester W. | Business Data Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

I love the ability to set up redirects. It is a powerful tool that facilitates design and development. I like how I can create and reuse classes. The platform also offers a robust set of options. The tool has been excellent.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

The loading time is high when there are many changes going on. I would like to see more capabilities that serve a variety of customers. Some much-needed features are missing.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The software is incredibly powerful and intuitive. It has several functions that allow users to create solutions. It provides one of the best platforms for developing sophisticated web products. It is very simple to build new pages on existing sites.

  ### 11. Abusive Billing Tactics

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

I'm struggling to find something positive to say. The service was more than we needed, and they seem to respond to customer emails with typical response times, so I guess there's that.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

We canceled this service months ago. We even received an email confirmation from our Pantheon account representative that states no further charges would be made to the account. Now, they are claiming we failed to use the proper method to notify them of cancellation, and since it's now past the 90 day renewal notice period, they're trying to charge the client thousands of dollars for a whole year of unwanted services. This is very aggressive and abusive behavior.

Buyer beware... once Pantheon gets its hooks in you, they intend to make it very hard for you to end the relationship and position their contractual language not to protect themselves from unforeseen circumstances but to extract payments from their customers.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They provide website hosting.

  ### 12. One of the slowest, most over-priced, weakest support hosts I've worked with.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher S. | Partner Coach, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Their concepts around webops are solid. I just wish their implementation of the process was anywhere near as good as what they advertise.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Our site literally runs 10 times slower on Pantheon than on Kinsta yet costs multiple times more. We went to Pantheon for the webops and support but have been significantly underwhelmed by the experience.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pantheon provides hosting for a social learning platform. Very few benefits have been realized relative to their competition.

  ### 13. Best Option for Easier Website Management And Maintenance.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Protus I. | IT Senior Project Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Pantheon is a Very comprehensive product that is widely known for it great performance in website management processes. It easily automates all the repetitive web development processes in a effective way. With this product, bothe drafting and publishing the content is very instinctive and no technical skills needed. I like its integration with other powerful applications like Jira,Asana and slack.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

This product pricing subscription is not that friendly, wish positive action can be taken to favour both large scale nad small scale businesses.
Customer service team need to up thier service and be more responsive once contacted.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our operations and services are fast. It delivers awesome website hosting speed to meet customer expectations. Our entire organisation performance has increased by more than 10%.

  ### 14. Pantheon High: Service quality and promising performance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott C. | Program Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Pantheon's many strengths lie in its features, but I find that its workflow enhancements, such as multi-dev environments, provide the most value. The multi-dev environments, live development test settings, as well as transferring content and code between them have significantly improved my team's workflow. Furthermore, Pantheon provides developers with excellent tools, comprehensive documentation, and responsive support. Pantheon is committed to serving the WordPress community; this commitment is evident through their weekly webinars, designed developer tools that make working on their platform easier ), and participation at various community events.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

I dislike Pantheon because once the platform collapses, you have no control over the situation. You must submit tickets and wait for engineers at Pantheon to resolve any issues. This cannot be very pleasant because the platform is more expensive than its rivals. Due to the lack of control afforded by self-serve plans and the prohibitive cost of Enterprise-level service, I migrated some of my most important sites to a different platform.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pantheon has been a tremendous time saver for me as a freelance WordPress developer. It is much simpler and quicker to automate the export and import of content and code between environments using Pantheon than before I had Pantheon.

  ### 15. Friendly and Digital Solutions for Program Development

Also, Pantheon has the ability of speeding the launch of sites, making the whole process simpler.

Super strong and informative

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Pantheon helps in many matters related to website, from hosting, traffic management, backup, and even launching.

Again, the software helps in managing traffics and backup, making our sites more efficient and responsive.
Lastly, Pantheon facilities the web hosting roles.

  ### 16. Pantheon is the best hosting provider for WordPress and Drupal

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zachary B. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

pantheon is my favorite hosting platform because it offers excellent support for using content management systems like Drupal 8, Drupal 7, and WordPress. I love the user interface that provides a variety of different deployment options. The three distinct environments available (development, testing, and production) help ensure the code is perfected before going live. Multidev streamlines procedures even further - everything about this host makes web development easier!

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

I wouldn't say I like Pantheon's inability to support modules within modules. This makes it challenging to create plugin repositories compatible with Pantheon's version control system. I overcame this issue by mapping a local environment for these plugins, preventing code duplication.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Pantheon is a problem for clients who need help with their development, testing, and production environments. The security of our servers is questionable, and we're not exceptionally skilled in DevOps. Our genuine interest lies in programming.

  ### 17. Pantheon is excellent to developers

Idislike that you can't manipulate the server the way you need to sometimes. The price is Abit high especially for mid_ tier companies. Everything l have used so far worked out well.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need to have a secure system to develop in with outside agencies.Single environment for managed WP.hosting.Longtime support should be easy and fearless to .The pantheon is a problem for clients who need help with their development. And we're not exceptionally skilled in development.

It has helped me to easily scale and create websites and this process would take me dozens of hours but now everything seems to be working within a fraction of time.
I like its speed when it comes to launching new websites, a process that takes very short time to complete.

  ### 19. Review of a powerful platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Donovan L. | Engineering Manager - Support Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

I've been a fan of Pantheon for multidev environments for years now, and while it's always been very enjoyable to work in, it's only gotten better over time. Flexible, straightforward and very easy to use while creating and maintaining sites.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

For the site that I'm maintaining, I don't dislike anything - any issues I've had have been a result of the CMS in use and getting it to work properly within Pantheon itself. That's no knock against the platform at all.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Look no further than Pantheon if you need multi dev, amazing hosting and quick, knowledgable support

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Taking the guesswork out of a proper workflow is a huge benefit to myself and the client. Ensuring there are always backups to pull from is key. Stellar hosting that is solid and reliable.

  ### 20. My 1+ years of experience with Pantheon.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

  ### 21. Excellent flexibility & effective service generation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan M. | Data Analytics, Online Media, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Remote help for host users can be initiated  directly from Pantheon. It turns financial files into XML files, saving us the trouble of copying forms and doing duplicate  work.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Pantheon's online help and forum are poor, and  getting support from the help desk takes too long. During rebuilds, Lando Dev loses some data.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Pantheon for our ERP programs, and we  use PAAS to generate very useful performance  reports. The Pantheon Automation Server  database excels at displaying user reports from  the WEB light Interface, which can be  downloaded in PDF format for our analytics. It's doing a fantastic job of securely and flexibly  hosting our six websites.

  ### 22. Pantheon has made my job a lot easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** LeighAnne T. | Digital Marketing Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

I am fairly new to Pantheon but I have been able to create, iterate, and scale websites rapidly and easily with the Pantheon platform. This process used to take me dozens of hours, but now takes me a fraction of the time. I can now focus on strategy and analytics as opposed to doing what normally takes hours.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Nothing. Everything that I have used up to this point has worked very well and has made my job a lot easier to accomplish.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our biggest challenge was how to scale up from one website to many once we got the basic layout set up. Pantheon has made this possible. Again, Pantheon has dramatically reduced the time and effort in this regard.

  ### 23. Review for pantheon

  ### 26. High recommend for others working on Drupal

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Monica S. F. | Technical Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Pantheon has been our go-to since 2014, and I've done both Drupal 7 and Drupal 8 and Wordpress on the platform. It is easy to understand and has a straightforward "dashboard" to allow you to spin up new sites. The dev, test, and live environments come with any hosting plan and you can "sandbox" by trying out the tools prior to getting a paid hosting package.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

It can be a bit of a challenge to get started; however there are many tips and tutorials to understand the workflow.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

It would be wise to reassess current budget and track against pricing plans to see where your organization lands in terms of usage.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're deploying multiple Drupal 8 websites on Pantheon and its ease of use, ability for the client/end customer to view items in test mode (prior to going live) and access to support team has been so helpful.

Another tip is the upgrade paths, for many clients doing a Drupal upgrade is difficult and time-consuming, Pantheon's automatic upgrades allow them to make the change as soon as updated code is available.

  ### 29. Not Ready for Prime Time

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Their dev, test, live environment was good.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

If you are using woocommerce do NOT use pantheon. We launched and our site went down with 200 concurrent users. The fix? Oh yeah we have a known issue distributing your site along our architecture, try and fix it this way. Also want support? Pay $500 per month or we wont help you. 30-50 minute chat wait times are all you have. I do not recommend mission critical sites be hosted here.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

If you need hosting you can rely on for wordpress, choose another host. They do not take responsibility for their lack of planning. While they did give us a solution to THEIR hosting environment issues, it still had to be implemented by our in-house developers.
They touted that the site would be fast and spread across servers and reliable, we deployed a site and everything was fine. The trouble came when we started running ad traffic to the site. We hit between 150 and 200 concurrent visitors on the site and our website went down. At that point we reached out to their (Chat only) support and had to wait 50 minutes to get something changed. Once it was changed and the traffic died down the site came back up. Great. The solution from the chat agent was to upgrade our plan. So we went ahead and changed to the 'performance medium' and eventually the 'performance large' plan. Well that caused a whole other set of issues where the site went down again. What happened is that Pantheon could not properly serve all the resources to visitors of the site. So they sent us a link to github for some issue from 2018 that they said they knew about, but did not bother to let us know would affect our site until another 30 minute wait to get in contact with their chat support.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Used as a web host for a woocommerce site.

  ### 30. 1250% price increase

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

2 + years as a pantheon customer and it has largely done what we needed.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

We've recently been auto-upgraded twice in quick succession due to the number of page views we have. Their records are more than double everything we can measure and their support team has not been helpful in the slightest. Since signing our contract our pricing has increased 1250% and our page views have increased 2-3x.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Be concious that the pricing tiers are opaque and costly

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Purely web hosting/webops

  ### 31. Highly professional with advanced tools

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Frank D. | Ceo, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

I love how easy the Pantheon platform is to use for more advanced deployments. The tools are incorporated in such a way that it just works and I don't have to worry as much about issues on my live site because I've been able to throughly develop and test code changes. Automatic backups and Git integration are also second to none. The support I've received has always been top notch as well with as much handholding as I've needed to correct any issues.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

The price is certainly higher than most other hosts but I feel like I get a fair deal for as many tools and services that come with the platform. I would like to see Pantheon offer agency pricing for everyone.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

If you are looking for the best quality Pantheon is it. If you are looking for the cheapest price I would look elsewhere.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a one man show 99% of the time but occasionally I will bring a contractor on for a specific task. Pantheon allows me to give them specific access and to get them up to speed quickly. I can deploy quickly using the best backbone I can get.

  ### 32. Best-in-class Managed Wordpress Hosting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Not your average Wordpress hosting. Provides advanced workflows for managing sites (multidev environments, integration with github, daily backups, etc.). Hosting is reliable and fast. Amazing customer support--always available, very friendly, and the most helpful support team out there.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

They aren't the cheapest option. The value is definitely there for the price for many sites, but for clients looking to put up a very basic Wordpress website it's sometimes hard to sell them on the sticker, particularly if they have multiple sites.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Setup a sandbox site to test it out and get started

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managed hosting for our website and for many client sites. Excels with complex and high traffic sites that need updating with 100% uptime.

  ### 33. Amazing web administrations and content administration Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Muhammad Waqar A. | Business Sales Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

It gives a very intuitively and Highly functional dasboard It manages the updates automatically. It also takes responsibility for the security, scalability, and stability of our websites and their contents. Their support team responds very actively.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Initial setup of website is exorbitantly complicated and deployment process was also bit diffcult.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Recomended to colleagues and friends for accessible web hosting and with no hassle of managing the server.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It conveys an entire facilitating arrangement bundle that upholds us to deal with different sites effectively and give programmed updates and improvements on the Internet. Its help group is likewise learned and effective and offers impeccable help immediately.

  ### 34. Great WordPress Managed Hosting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danny H. | Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

It makes it super easy to set up WordPress along with being able to have multiple environments to make testing super easy. I also like the requirement to actually commit code to install a plugin which requires a little more knowledge and adds a little barrier to add code to the site that is not custom-built for the site.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

The quality of support has gone down a little over the past year. There is still a fair amount of help it just seems like Pantheon has been going through a growth spurt and I've been through this with other similar companies in the past hopefully it will pass and everything will get better. Pantheon is still a good choice.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

If you need a decent amount of scale, multiple testing environments, or Drupal support along with WordPress Pantheon makes a good choice. It is fairly expensive comparatively but you get what you pay for with Pantheon.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problems would be scale and security. Some of the other managed hosts have had issues keeping up with some of the sites, especially around e-commerce. Pantheon has never had any issues.

**Official Response from Adam Arthur:**

> Danny, thanks for reviewing Pantheon. Great to hear that you're finding value in our WebOps Platform for your WordPress hosting. We appreciate your feedback on our Support and would love to get more information from you to understand how we can improve this for you.

  ### 35. Pantheon is my favorite hosting platform for client WordPress sites

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

The Pantheon dashboard is exceptionally user-friendly compared to other hosts. They have made backup creation, branch creation, merging of code, and migration of database and files as easy as I could see it ever being. The added value of Terminus and easy use of Lando for local development makes automating simple tasks or making batch edits to sites on a network a breeze.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

My main issues with Pantheon have been in migrating existing client sites from other hosts. The migration process itself is easy, but due to Pantheon's considerations and limitations of the network, many client sites come with plugins that assume write access or have other conflicts with the platform and either need work arounds or entirely new solutions. The innability to make changes to the server configuration is also a bit frustrating, but understandable.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Based on the limitation of my role within my organization, I don't have much feedback in terms of Pantheon solving business problems.

  ### 36. Great Overall Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

I love the workflow with Pantheon. The user interface is very straightforward and easy to use for both developers and clients. There is great user support documentation that helps and their customer service is great for answering questions timely. The multi-dev environments make it great to do continuous work on. The fact that the live environment is locked from direct changes is also nice for staying up to date with code where clients also maintain their site.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Pantheon can be an expensive platform to use, but it comes with many good security benefits for the price. It may not be the best option for smaller businesses or websites because of the hosting costs.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Pantheon is great for easy user management and provides tons of great features but can be a costly option for smaller tier clients.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pantheon helps keep the workflow very clean and the developer environments are super helpful when creating new features.

  ### 37. Pantheon works great for hosting and website management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Pantheon goes above and beyond standard web hosting tools. They provide editing tools that give multiple editors a more efficient means for making shared edits. We can assign various roles to users and set a clear path for edit approvals. I like Pantheon's staging tools. They allow us to experiment with design and functional website changes without publishing live pages.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Pantheon is more expensive than common shared hosting plans. Using the Pantheon environment can be confusing for new users or for clients that want to check out and get directly involved with the editing process.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our pages load reliably and quickly. We have a unified editing and website management platform that lets us collaborate and make changes in a streamlined way. We can perform trial and error tasks in a safe and complete environment. Some sandbox environments don't always allow for complete code execution, but Pantheon's staging environment is mostly true to the live environment.

  ### 38. Started out as a boon for noobs and small business, mutated into an Enterprise level tool

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

I love the DevOps tools and the Documentation feature. It teaches you how to get into the nuts & bolts of web development.
If you're an enterprise-level org and you want to treat your WebDev to a good time, get Pantheon.

The free sandbox is great for drafting sites and learning how to manage them.

When you learn how the DevOps tools work, you realize how powerful the platform can be.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

The pricing.
We have been bumped up to a ridiculously expensive tier because of our site traffic even though we're a small organization. Extremely difficult to justify the cost come budget season.

The support.
It's a lot like a therapist. They will walk you through the process of solving your issue instead of... solving it. They're pretty hands-off on helping you get your site up after your code goes out of date. When you have analytical folks breathing down your neck due to a 504 error on a page, you need a fix, not a tutorial.

The (lack of) Onboarding
I've never used New Relic before. So imagine my confusion when trying to figure out if my site has any PHP issues. What's a Redis? Let's google/check the documentation on this instead of working.

Mission/Scope Creep.
Pantheon was marketed to us by our site-builder and it looked like we were in a perfect tier with the right features. With time, that niche got consumed into the enterprise ("Organization") tier and many of the features I anticipated got subsumed into a premium service.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I learned a lot about web development and creating the optimal environment for web development. It's a great learning tool but a pricey hosting solution.

  ### 39. Awesome Software for Web and Business Development

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mona K. | Software Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

The websites are deployed with such a mechanism that there is auto scalability ensured every time. Our websites remain functional throughout the year and thus never go down. The server environments are pretty good and report us with the server load and other details required so that the quality of service is never compromised. The customer care executives are charming people who assist us with the required features and help us going through the documentation to ensure a variety of features with each update and better web design. Pantheon takes good care of query algorithms, and everything seems smooth.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

The servers are quite costly even though there isn't colossal traffic to handle most of the year. Other than this, everything is fine till now, and we hope we get better pricing plans to maintain the quality of the website while we don't incur high expenses.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

We should better go for the initial trial period before shifting to premium plans and analyze the improvements quantitatively before taking a significant decision since this product is costly.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The system seems quite robust and in place, thanks to the beautiful software. The benefits are reflected in our sales, which has improved a lot after we started using this, since the support ticket system and responses are pretty fast. We have a lot more time to analyze the data and incorporate customer feedback.

  ### 40. Agile Approach based deployment system

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jubli K. | Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

The best part lies in the continuous feedback system inbuilt in the software during all stages of website testing and deployment. It helps in a drastic change of your website by suggesting the latest web designs and integrating well with the existing pipeline resources. Further, the testing part is beautifully carved into the software as there are plenty of testing algorithms that work with expected results before deploying the changes into the final website. Not to forget the consistent customer support who help us day in and out manage the website well during peak season—a great product in conclusion.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

I think the price is something way more than expected which I feel should be the common ground of disappointment for every customer. The features are really good but somewhat over priced, which is why I couldn't give it a 10. But no other disappointments for this product honeslty as it works like a charm.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Thanks to the variety of plans provided by the company, you can choose the relevant plan and benefits as per the company's needs.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This product is a suitable replacement for AWS, as the features are mostly the same except for the excellent automation environment offered to us by the company. The data analytics tool is quite brilliant and helps us analyze the company's database quite well. It also helps us in setting quarterly targets and managing bonuses for the employees quite smoothly.

  ### 41. Awesome UX design for development environments

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sheetal B. | Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

The best part lies in the overall support of this product. It's difficult for companies to switch between development environments because of the tedious staging process that comes with updating the website. However, these things are taken good care of by this product, as it provides a mini-documentation in the dashboard itself and the walk through guide is really helpful. I would also like to point the helpful nature of the cusomter support, who encourage us timely to reap the actual benefits of the latest staging features and efficient server overload management. We optimize the website on a monthly basis and the software even helps provide better security to the database and other important credentials.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Cost is one factor which is somewhat high for this product. Secondly, the official documentation is a bit difficult to understand especially when we are lost exploring the GUI and cannot customize anything on our own. It demands a good amount of patience on both our and the support side in the initial days. I hope they come soon with dedicated help pages for some features as that would be helpful.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Code can be written in an introductory style without requiring any high technical knowledge, so I will recommend everyone to switch to this product.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits are really excellent for the money we pay for the software. The server management, especially in times of heavy traffic reload is handled efficiently by both the software and the support team making it highly useful for the tasks.

  ### 42. Amazing Platform - more than just hosting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsay W. | Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

The dev ops workflows that are available on the platform and the ease you can merge between environments

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

There really isnt anything to dislike about Pantheon

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dev Ops workflows built with Circle CI. Easily and efficiently pushing code changes to multi dev environments to quickly demo code changes to clients

  ### 43. Amazing WebOps platform for daily needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** NeetoAsha P. | Software Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Pantheon is quite an essential tool for a growing and closed community like ours, where we are trying to switch between technologies rapidly to ensure competitiveness throughout the sectors. It is one of the best SaaS providers, where a multi-development environment is supported for efficient teamwork. The automatic backups that happen periodically are such a boon! The customer support is quite helpful and helps a lot in the initial phase of integration with the existing coding environment and cloud restoration. The servers are pretty promising and work like a charm during product launches. One of the best staging environments and world-class service! Truly a gem in its domain

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

There's no limit on price discounts we feel are adequate for the tool XD. The price is a bit on the higher side, especially for mid-level companies like ours. There are cheaper hosting environment options available in the market, but the staging and integration parts of the shifting process are difficult to neglect. So all in all, nothing much to dislike here except the price and indeed, there will be better discounts with more years of usage as promised by the customer support, so fingers crossed!

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

I will recommend everyone to use this product if they are sure of scaling up their work with time; else it may be one of the most capital intensive factors

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Some of the main benefits include the smoothness of staging our work, timely backups, which are a good plus. The server management part is done wholly by the pantheon software, and thus, our products become entirely scalable automatically. Pantheon also keeps our work free from cyberattacks, which is one of the things we will consider a driving factor any day

  ### 44. Pantheon Managed & Moderate Hosting Solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rasool R. | Admin Staff, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Pantheon is being used in our organization for hosting. Many people in our organization use Pantheon as a modern end-to-end hosting solution provider to make sure they automatically update their feed and improve their online presence. It offers significantly enhanced effciency and guarantees excellent uptime. Source are update automatically. It also provides good performance.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

It seems to be a lack the available documentation, and also newbies are facing diffculties to learn the system and process.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

I highly recommended pantheon to my colleague and friends as a moderate and best hosting solution provider.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides us with a complete hosting solution that helps effciently manage the multiple websites and ensure the automatic update and make improvements over the internet. Their support team is also knowledgeable and effcient and provides perfect supports on a timely basis.

  ### 45. Web Dev and Hosting - awesomeness

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

I love so many things; it's impossible to list just one: "multidev" environments, git, SFTP, new relic, automated back-ups, easy support, great docs, clear process flow for dev -> test -> production. I could go on. :)

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

I want more "multidev" sites so I can have playgrounds for more clients (both company internal and external). Fine, I guess ten is enough, but they're super cool.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Spin-up a test account, kick the tires, look under the hood, and you'll realize there's a lot going on behind the scenes to make your job easier and to allow you to focus on dev and less on server management

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the past we hosted on AWS and had to deal with ELB (elastic load balancers) and multiple front-ends. Also the relational database server (RDS) and making our own back-ups. Lastly, patching our Linux OS and dealing with watching out for the latest security exploits. Plus, ensuring our SSL certs are properly deployed and using a CDN. Now, that's all handled for us.

We also had to spin-up our own dev and test environments. Now that's just part of the established workflow. Multidev support folds perfectly into the model making it easy for a multi-developer team.

  ### 46. Outstanding!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Teo G. | Principal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Uptime, customer support, workflow, great customer communication.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Workflow can be a little confusing until you figure it out.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Make clear to your client that you will be developing on dev server and moving from test to live. Some changes will have to pushed up from dev, so not always direct, but much safer.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With occasional client content owners on the client-side, we are totally safe with dev. Also, love the dashboard and backup scheduling so if a client messes something up we can just restore.

**Official Response from Adam Arthur:**

> Thanks for your review, Teo. Great to hear that Pantheon is proving to be reliable and that our customer support has been helpful when needed. Let us know if there's anything we can do to help you or your clients.

  ### 47. The best platform for WordPress!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric G. | Founder and Technical Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Pantheon makes the WordPress work both for me and my clients. I can easily manage core code across multiple clients as well as automate theme and plugin updates with AutoPilot. Git-based code and security of multiple dev environments, a testing environment, and a live deployed version complete with built-in CDN. performance is top notch, support very responsive, and serious uptime. It makes me look like a superhero.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Pantheon isn't the cheapest option out there, but I'm sold on the extra value.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Seek out a partner company to help get better pricing if you are an individual company looking to host a single website.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automated updates allow me to ensure my clients have secure sites without adding to my own overhead.

  ### 48. Thank you Pantheon for building a world-class WebOps platform for our Drupal sites

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bao T. | Director, Digital Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

We were fortunate enough to have world-class technical guidance on scaling our Drupal sites for performance and future version upgrades. Commandline-based tools were also extremely helpful in streamlining our workflow. The deployment workflow is very streamlined allowing for commandline based tools. We also took advantage of their Advanced Global CDN offerring and was able to significantly optimize the speed index our site. Pantheon continues to build new tools to improve the WebOps experience and we always look forward to the next tool in their pipeline.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

We would love to see more detailed video tutorials on leveraging their Build Tools command-line plugin to build a Drupal site locally and have GitHub, Circle CI, and Pantheon integration seamlessly set up, all within a few steps. We would also like to see more tools to streamline the migration between Drupal versions such as going from Drupal 8 to Drupal 9.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

Make sure you test drive Pantheon by leveraging their command-line-based tools such Terminus and Build Tools to get an idea of how streamlines the process can be.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were looking to streamline our deployment process and set up site monitoring and scale up resources to handle high traffic periods all in one place and have access to world-class technical guidance should an issue arise. Pantheon gave us the infrastructure, support, and technology to make it all happen. We also encountered site performance issues with prolonged load times. Once we adopted their Advanced Global CDN product, we optimized our images by generating the derivatives on the CDN layer instead of the server layer; therefore, adopting the Advanced Global CDN resulting in a considerable performance boost for our site.

**Official Response from Francois Nze:**

> Thank YOU, Bao! For contributing to making the open web a world-class platform.

  ### 49. Hands Down the best Drupal and Wordpress hosting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David S. | Lead Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

The platform is setup in a way that just makes sense; it's easy to use and simply works right the first time. The documentation and support are second to none. And the training is top-notch!

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

The pricing can be hard to sell to lower-end clients, and not everyone understands what hosting is and why hosting companies differ so greatly in price

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Continuous integration, automatic back ups and a streamline workflow are the most important features for and successful deployment

  ### 50. Great Platform for Agencies, Businesses and Developers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Pantheon?**

Pantheon has one of the few WordPress SaaS offerings. The best features are multi-dev support, integrated git handling, backups, and taking the maintenance out of the picture from managing a typical WordPress site. Their customer service is responsive; we've encountered no downtime thus far.

**What do you dislike about Pantheon?**

Pantheon user access levels can be problematic. If you are an agency, having a customer specify the billing. The system will want you to transfer the account, thus changing the billing practices. You can get around this by working with customer service. As a developer, the second aspect is the ability to utilize a 3rd party git hosting would be ideal such as the use of GitHub vs. their internal system.

**Recommendations to others considering Pantheon:**

If you do have multiple sites, consider getting an agency plan.

**What problems is Pantheon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main issue is keeping WordPress and the server it would have run in updated. With Pantheon, we no longer need to think about this. It provides significant cost savings in terms of our people and staff time.
