Panorama is a solution offered by Palo Alto Networks, which manages and controls the Firewall centrally. Below is the best part of Panorama :
1. We can centrally manage and controls the connected Palo Alto Firewall
2. We can collect logs from various connected firewalls to Panorama
3. We can configure the connected firewall centrally by Panorama Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My overall experience with Panorama is very excellent, but there are some points where there is a chance for improvement :
1. In log collector mode, we can't get GUI access of the firewalls.
2. There is no option of dual-homing where we can use IPv4 & IPv6 together on the management port.
3. There should be some default template and device group that the user can use for the basic configuration of the firewall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With the help of Panorama, we can manage multiple firewalls at a time and change the configuration of any firewall and also see the logs of all firewalls on a common GUI which is Panorama GUI. and also collect long-time logs of multiple firewalls and reduce the risk of losing logs with the help of deploy panorama in a log-collector mode and forward all logs of firewalls to log-collectors & manage those log-collectors from panorama which it may be in only Management-mode either Panorama mode ( Log-collector + Management mode). The thing I don't like about Panorama is that many times after an upgrade either panorama or firewall reachability breaks due to a particular pan-os bug.
for ex from Pan-OS 10.0.1 to 10.0.5 if you integrate the firewall with panorama you will require auth key which is generated from Panorama and pasted to the firewall through the command line.
Also on that version, if you import firewall configuration to panorama you must be enabled the feature of import object tab configuration in Panorama as a shared object and due to this existing firewall data storage must be full or high. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
