Pages is much more simple to use than Microsoft Word. It is true that Word has more features, but most of which you will never use. This amalgamation of useless features turns Microsoft Word's interface into a cluttered mess. In comparison, Pages feature set is simpler yet powerful, providing us with a more organised interface and thus a better experience. I did my entire Master's dissertation and also my PhD thesis using Pages, and have not missed any Microsoft Word feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The way Pages count words is different than Microsoft World does it. This can become problematic for students. For example, according to Pages, my PhD thesis was 99,000 words long, exceeding the submission limits. But the same document, now converted to Microsoft Word, was -10% shorter. Such discrepancy hurts students because we are required to honour academic conduct; thus, we should not lie about word length, etc. Both companies (Microsoft and Apple) should agree on a common formula. Pages facilitate you not only to just type Word documents but also design incredible pages, including amazing cover pages with a variety of options. Its quite smooth and sleek and provides a modern look. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The original format of the pages cannot be opened on other platforms, which means it is not very friendly for sharing purposes. The conversion to Microsoft word will lose a few design features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The only thing I dislike about pages is the fact that it's limited to Mac devices. Sure, you can use Pages via iCloud in a web browser on a PC, but the fully featured app is native to macOS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Great for free software included with Mac. Has all the features you'd expect for a word processing application. Feels very similar to Microsoft Word Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I prefer using cloud-based apps such as Google Docs instead as it's more collaborative. I also don't like the 'save' / 'save-as' options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Simple to use. Clean interface. Can create beautiful documents. It can create professional looking documents in a short time and requires little skill to navigate the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Being limited to iOS only can be limiting for some people. It does not integrate with other applications. There are some formatting difference with moving from microsoft word to Pages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to open, connected to all Mac user interfaces as that's the favored type of operating system for the companies I work for Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some typefaces are not cross-compatible or automatically included that match the default typefaces in Windows-based computers, when working with clients or others not using Mac systems Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The way Pages works seamlessly across all my Apple devices (iPhone and iPad) as well as solid functionality on the web browser-based version which I use on my PC. Especially well- integrated with the Apple Ecosystem and iCloud Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One challenge I have had is that the icons for the tools, document controls, and options menus are often a bit opaque; i.e. they don't always tell you what they do or what sub-menus are hidden behind them.
Also, compared to MS Word which I use a lot on the job, I miss the ability (or just haven't learned how) to run macros for massive document re-formatting and content find-and-replace. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
