You will not find a better proofing software than PageProof. Their software is amazing (user-friendly, well-designed, creative) and their customer service is revolutionary. When our team was looking for a new proofing system, PageProof gave us a free trial period and then extended our trial period until our subscription with our previous software expired.
PageProof gave us training to make sure we fully understood how to use PageProof. They also fully understand the technology our designers and video editors use and have the knowledge and tools to help us.
When we started using PageProof, there were a few features we liked about the previous software that we didn't have with PageProof (simple things like including having reviewers' comments in the notification emails, having a default time for proofs, etc.). We asked them if it would be possible to include these features in PageProof, and they made it happen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ability to collaborate, make suggestions for changes, and look over every detail of a project is vital to ensuring its success. The review process of a work-in-process is much faster and much more efficient. Getting multiple eyes on the project is highly valuable and this lets everyone review it at the same time or as they are available to get to it. There's no shortage of branding changes, grammar edits, quote extensions, rearranged sections, and copy rework that's much easier to communicate and accomplish with PageProof. Nothing specific comes to mind. PageProof is a great business tool. I suppose if I dislike one thing about the tool, it's that I can't edit my comments after they are posted. Sometimes I write a comment and would like to change it after I've posted it, but right now I'm left to either leave it or delete it and rewrite it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ability for team members to be involved in the proofing process but maintaining a degree of control by having one person (typically the editor) making the final decisions on what gets changed or what doesn't. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
