"PRTG detects problems before they are noticed by employees."
5/5
What do you like best about Paessler PRTG?

PRTG raises an alarm before problems affect our ongoing operations. This helps to avoid outages, shorten response times, and use IT resources more efficiently.

By centrally monitoring network devices, servers, services, and applications, outages can be avoided and response times significantly reduced.

The setup is easy and quick thanks to auto-discovery sensors!

We use the solution at multiple locations and are extremely satisfied!

Customer support has always been able to help so far and is quickly reachable for all questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paessler PRTG?

The least helpful are the internal tickets (we already use a third-party tool here to create tickets due to the email notification from PRTG) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Wonderful monitoring software for managing large number of sites remotely"
5/5
What do you like best about Paessler PRTG?

PRTG makes it easy to monitor a large number of sites remotely. We have 50 sites across the east cost and a small IT staff. Before we were using PRTG, we relied on users reporting outages, which could be hours or sometimes even days. They are also easy to set timing of alerts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paessler PRTG?

It can be a lot to set up all the network probes when first starting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Critical Piece of My Network Monitoring"
5/5
What do you like best about Paessler PRTG?

PRTG has allowed me to create an at-a-glance status overview of the key components of my network so I can be certain everything is up and running before the doctors start seeing patients each day. In addition, the alerts I have set on those and a few other devices in the network notify me 24/7 if there is any king of outage, often letting me address it before the users even know it is happening. I could not do my job nearly as well without it. Rollout and setup were easy. PRTG scanned my network and found the devices that I needed to manage and using several techniques can present me with an almost overwhelming number of things to monitor for each device. These are easy enough to turn off so that seeing what is important isn't a needle in a haystack situation. Any questions I have had have been quickly resolved in their support forums. I am a one-man show, so PRTG has effectively given me an extra set of eyes that I desperately needed. I'm both the admin and the user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paessler PRTG?

About my only complaint is that there is one hassle in managing maps (the dashboard tool) that hasn't been addressed yet, though it has been an issue for several years. But there is a workaround for this, and it is literally my only complaint, so there is not much to dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Using PRTG since 2017, evolving from PRTG1000 to PRTG Enterprise, consistently met my expectations."
5/5
What do you like best about Paessler PRTG?

What I like most about PRTG is how easy it is to use. Setting things up is straightforward, sensor integration is simple, and building dashboards with Maps is easy. Reporting is quick, network analysis with NetFlow works great, and the alerting system covers everything from email to custom sound alerts. It just works well. The setup was smooth, and I use PRTG regularly for monitoring. Paessler’s customer support is always helpful when needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paessler PRTG?

Honestly, I don’t have many complaints about PRTG. But if I could suggest a few improvements, it would be great to have performance monitoring through telemetry, and maybe an integration with Prometheus. It’d also be awesome to have more interactive dashboard panels, like what you get with Grafana. And it’d be perfect if we could set custom sound alerts directly from the web interface, not just from the PRTG desktop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Highly customizable and incredibly useful monitoring"
5/5
What do you like best about Paessler PRTG?

PRTG is extremely customizable, providing insight where it's been needed the most. While the out of the box deployment helped pull in 90% of the metrics and insights we were looking for, the ability to get into the granular details of everything else is amazing. It's extremely easy to setup and use making it a great product over all. It's used daily to ensure a smooth running network. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paessler PRTG?

Only complaint I would have would be a better built in tie in to more robust graphing tools like Grafana Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good enough"
5/5
What do you like best about Paessler PRTG?

It's great to have a tool that notifies every disruption or degradation of devices or services. But sometimes I think should be upgraded to a modern paradigm, not just notifying, maybe automating actions or a better algorithm to define what is really critical, because not everything needs attention in the specific, sometimes we need groups of events to define a real critical alert. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paessler PRTG?

I think its overwhelming, it causes some anxiety because its logical to notify almost everything, but it was great when notifying used to be one time a day, by an email, not now when we have notifications every minute. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
