**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2025

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

I appreciate OutSystems because I can develop quickly and it is easier to understand. I often use the built-in functions, and the loops and list appends are very handy.

OutSystems helps me to develop quickly and is easier to understand.

  ### 2. Low-Code Citizen Portals Made Easy with Strong AWS Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph V. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

Integration with other technologies, such as AWS, is important to me. I also like being able to create customer experiences and a citizen’s portal in a low-code/no-code environment, which makes building and iterating much easier.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

Pricing could be more competitive, and I’d also like to see far more technology integrations.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the Philippines, Outsystem is redefining the development experience through a low-code/no-code environment. It helps our government deliver a citizens’ portal that everyday users and readers alike appreciate and can use with ease.

  ### 3. Fast, Future-Ready Platform with PWA and Agentic AI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abeer E. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

Fast, and it keeps up with new features and technologies like PWA and agentic AI.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

There are sometimes limitations, but honestly not many. The main thing is having to wait for new features to be released.

  ### 4. From Native Development to LowCode

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Omar A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2025

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

The helpful aspect is that it becomes easy to use and allows you to implement difficult tasks in a short amount of time.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

The implementation is more technical and focuses on the hardware aspect, where every byte matters. However, there is still room for growth.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So far, this has helped me manage my time better, allowing me to concentrate on quick and efficient development. As a one-person company, this means I can now dedicate more attention to other important areas of my business.

  ### 5. Accelerates Enterprise App Development, But Debugging and Customization Can Be Challenging

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ross J. | OutSystems Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2025

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

What I appreciate most about the OutSystems low-code platform is how it accelerates the development of enterprise-grade applications without compromising architectural control. The visual development environment simplifies the handling of complex logic, yet still allows for extensibility through integrations and custom code. Its built-in features for deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management help reduce operational overhead and enhance delivery speed. The platform also ensures consistency across different environments, supports scalable design patterns, and allows for rapid iteration with minimal technical debt. This effective balance between abstraction and control makes OutSystems well-suited for both quick prototyping and the development of long-term strategic systems.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

One aspect I find frustrating about the OutSystems low-code platform is how it often abstracts too much of the underlying implementation. This can make it difficult to identify performance bottlenecks and can complicate the debugging process. Additionally, the reliance on proprietary constructs restricts both portability and the ability to deeply customise solutions, particularly when working with non-standard systems. I have also noticed that the IDE tends to become sluggish when handling large modules, and the version control integration does not offer the level of granularity typically found in traditional development environments. Altogether, these limitations create challenges when trying to scale complex applications or maintain strict engineering standards across distributed teams.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSystems addresses the challenge of slow and resource-intensive application delivery by supporting rapid development cycles that require little manual coding. By minimizing the need for large development teams, it makes integration with existing systems more straightforward and eases deployment across different environments. As a result, businesses can respond to requirements more quickly, all while maintaining scalability and ensuring long-term maintainability.

**Official Response from Erin Koerpel:**

> Thank you for your 5-star review, Ross! We appreciate your feedback on the benefits of OutSystems in addressing slow application delivery and supporting rapid development cycles. OutSystems is dedicated to addressing the issues you mentioned in order to provide a more seamless experience for our users. Your input here helps us focus on areas for improvement.

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

One of the best feature that I liked about outsystems is that it provides a user interface where we are able to create different type of apps according to our need just by customizable and visual drag and drop options. None of us has a professional knowledge of coding but we have created 6-7 applications for our business for growth and customer retention.

The main challenge that we face while using outystems is that all the apps that we develop through this software cannot be launched to other platforms if you want to change the core of these softwares. The quality and range of these apps are very basic and standard in nature for creating complex applications you will have to choose another platform only.

What i actually do not like about this is some times if we want to fetch a data in multiple scenarios we need to write a SQL query in Advance SQL and if we want to write a complex code we need to write in dot-net language so these two things i think need to optimize else its good.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Purusothaman N. | Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

What I value most about OutSystems is its model-driven architecture, which accelerates full-stack development while still enforcing strong structure, scalability, and maintainability.

OutSystems stands out to me because it abstracts repetitive coding through visual models while still allowing deep technical control over integrations, performance, and architecture.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

One limitation of OutSystems is that highly complex customizations can sometimes require workarounds outside the platform’s visual abstractions.

While OutSystems is very productive, performance tuning and deep debugging can be less transparent compared to traditional code-first environments.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSystems addresses the complexity and slow delivery of traditional enterprise development by offering a model-driven, full-stack platform with built-in architecture and lifecycle management. This benefits me by letting me deliver solutions faster while focusing on design, performance, and business logic instead of repetitive technical setup.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rafael P. | OutSystems AI Specialist / OutSystems MVP / OutSystems Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2025

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

I've been working with the OutSystems Platform for the last 19 years, and one thing they consistently pursued: To remove complexity from the entire Software Development Lifecycle. Things have just gotten AMAZINGLY better now with their AI initiatives, especially OutSystems Mentor and OutSystems Agent Workbench. If you work for a large enterprise, and you are not looking to bring Agentic AI to your business, you will be smashed by the competition that will soon adopt it... Go Fast or Go Home!

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

The truly exceptional OutSystems Partners are not easy to find, so my suggestion is to look for experience, instead of size. Partners like Digital Alchimia in Brazil, with a team of over 19 years of experience, can really make all the difference.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Besides all the speed on building critical core & scalable solutions, the way they are bringing AI to the game, especially for the Agentic AI part, is just amazing. Agentic AI with governance, with security in place, so everything that a large enterprise is looking for now.
