**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stijn S. | CTO, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2024

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

OutSystems in Carrefour is highly valued for its speed in application development, enabling teams to build and iterate quickly with minimal hand-coding through a user-friendly, drag-and-drop interface. It supports robust integration with legacy and third-party systems which is beneficial in our landscape, offering flexibility for complex environments. The platform enables cross-platform development, allowing the creation of web and mobile apps from a single codebase, and provides enterprise-level scalability and security. OutSystems’ strong community, extensive documentation, and marketplace, empowers my development teams to innovate efficiently and respond rapidly to changing business needs which is exactly what we need

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

We at Carrefour believe the main drawbacks aboutOutSystems relate to cost and platform limitations. For enterprise-grade projects, the pricing can become prohibitively high, especially for larger teams or projects with heavy integration needs. Additionally, while OutSystems is great for rapid development, the low-code approach can limit customization, which can be frustrating for experienced developers who want more flexibility and control over the code. Some of our developers also note that the performance of OutSystems apps may lag in highly complex applications or where advanced features are required, and it may not be ideal for apps that need frequent, intricate updates. next we also have the ODC roll out which is pushing us back since a shift in focus and finally, the learning curve for understanding OutSystems’ specific logic and architecture can slow down teams unfamiliar with low-code platforms.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

the main problem is time to market. with outsystems we are managing to outpace our competitors with time to market for new apps giving us a big strat benefit.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** MIKHEIL O. | Lead Software Developer / Chapter Lead / Tech Lead, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

With about 9 years of expirience with using OutSystems platform in TBC Bank I can say with confidence that it significantly reduces business application development time, costs and simplifies the development process.

With power of low-code language of OutSystems development team is focused on key business feature implementation and important architectural consepts rather than on technical details and bring value to business in shortest and easiest way. Platform simplifies business fieature implementation on all levels of software, integration with external systems, data, logic, user interface, business process. Single developer can cover development of all parts of the solution, therefore OutSystems developer is full-stack developer.

Fundamental parts of entire SDLC and CI/CD processes are easely managed with platform tools. LifeTime takes care of entire application deployment process from development to production and also privides rich API to customize deplyoemtns with custom CI/CD pipelines.

Platform allows you to extend its capabilities with custom .NET code, therefire giving almost unlimited possibilities.

Has sufficient versioning and collaboration functionality for cuncurent development.

OutSystems out of the box provides all cababilities not only to implement business application, but also tools to monitor and manage them.

Platform is used daily to by approximately therteen dedicated agile teams to deliver new features to mission critical solution.

The customer support service meets our expectations, we are getting help we are expecting.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

Actually there are few thing that I can list here.

First, relatively it is more complicated to find competent OutSystems developer or motivate existing one to switch technology, the last one is more related to mindset. During my practive best way was to tech traditional developers.

Second is challenge with implementing listeners to integrate with message brockers on the server side, like RabbitMQ, you can implement pull requests but not subscriber. Similar applies to UI communications with the server, it is not possible to use web sockets like commonucation.

Third issue is related to more advance source control features like branching to support isolated, idepended parall development. Because of the nature of the platform it uses different approach rather than branching - Feature Toggles, but this forge component is not supported.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WIth OutSystems platform we have implemented Loan Origination Solution for all lending domains and succesfully achieved goals with less resources that in case of traditional technologies.

  ### 28. "OutSystems: A Rapid Development Platform with a Strong Community, however choose wisely "

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2024

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

Nr 1 is of course the speed at which one can develop and share results with the business Nr 2 is the community around the platform, good service and forum next to the Forge which is great as well Nr 3 would be the evolution of the platform itself, being on the top of things (companies cannot keep up with the pace though)

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

Main issue is the point at which OutSystems has to be used in an existence (legacy) IT landscape. It just is very hard to fit in OutSystems in an existing end-to-end process where other (older) technologies are deeply involved. Then the trouble it takes to migrate for example from O11 to ODC, it's just very time consuming Also, the licenses for the platform and the fact that you' re not totally flexible in how you build and maintain your apps is quite a scary thing. If OutSystems decides to do things differently, you cannot just opt out

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSystems can help solving a wide variety of business cases. It's performance is well enough for almost all use cases and the adaptability is great. The best part is that the steps from business process to IT process are relatively easy and don't take much time, leaving room for iteration and communication with the business to make the customer experience better.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bas d. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2024

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

I really like the abstraction of creating code without all the hard or annoying parts. It makes creating business value way easier or faster, and allows you to adapt to the ever changing requirements quickly.
The OutSystems 11 product is so feature complete that it has all the tools to fully replace a .NET stack in a company, and i can recommend the companies considering outsystems to do so.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

ODC is a great new product with a great vision, but in my opinion it is not feature-complete enough because outsystems did such a great job on creating O11. It's almost unfair to compare it with that but that's how reality is. I see outsystems is on a quick path to improve this but sometimes the change comes a bit too soon. However all the AI infused capabilities are now released on this platform, so it creates value in that specific way that O11 cannot do right now.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Technical debt, quick changes to requirements and fast prototyping.

  ### 43. because it is a very reliable platform that allows you to develop solutions very quickly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

Very reliable
Very easy to learn
Rapid development and maintenance of applications

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

The availability of more UX/UI components to speed up development

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

integration with other systems which facilitates the digital transformation of organizations

  ### 44. Very innovative and a good community where its very hard to not succeed.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2024

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

Its very user friendly, its easy to use. Also the integration from back end to front end is simple you have all acces in 1 application.

And another big pro is that the time that it cost to build an application is way less then building it in high code.

Last but not least the community is very good. You can ask your questions and you will get fast replys, a lot of people are ready to help.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

The only thing was its sometimes less flexible with building things in your front end.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its very efficient in time. And that means we got more money to spend. Because now we can build applications in less time we can guarentee more productivity to our business.

  ### 45. Evaluating OutSystems: The #1 Low code development platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Muhammed Ibrahim H. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2024

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

OutSystems's rapid development capabilities and ease of use are among its best features. The platform has excellent application lifecycle management, especially with its CI/CD features. Easy-to-use templates, comprehensive guidelines for style, the TrueChange Panel for instant feedback , and robust error monitoring are just a few of the features that OutSystems' user-friendly interfaces offer for easy imlementation. It also enables easy integrations, as well as a vibrant community for assistance. All of these characteristics combine to create OutSystems an extremely effective and developer-friendly platform for creating modern and enterprise applications.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

From a management prespective, cost is a primary factor. Its expensive for small to medium sized enterprises. OutSystems mobile applications tend to be quite large in size, even when the requirements are minimal.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When it comes to mobile applications, the wide range of plugins and resources helps avoid significant costs associated with physical devices. The platform's enhanced security and full control over data helps in easy migration and integrations from legacy systems. The predefined templates enables easy and robust application creation, helping clients release their products to market quickly.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rapid web and mobile application development

  ### 48. The Future is now! Ai is there, and it's Outsystems is on the boat!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David A. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2024

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

Fast Delivery, Focus on the Business (if I don't spend time on coding, I can have more time to my business), Adapt to reality (the world is changing every second, we need to follow the change: Inovation (always a step ahead)

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

The only thing In don't like it's on the technical view. I'm used to have all fast on OS, but when we join the features and the best practice, I don't see them match. I'm specific speaking about the CRUD best practice (create our own CRUD's in order to manage all and put the Enitities as read-only. I would really like to have an accelerate for that :) Maybe mentor is already giving me this feature.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time is money! Easy to adapt to change requests.

  ### 49. With OutSystems we can bring value to our customers sprint over sprint

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2019

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

With this platform we can quickly develop and improve our solutions. This way we can take the customer feedback and act upon it right away. This platform allows us also to integrate with a lot of other solutions used by our business.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

Pricing change from O11 to ODC was not clear. Support is quick but sometimes feels like they reply something generic just to buy time. Even though the community is evolving, not always can we find answers online to more complex problems.

**Recommendations to others considering OutSystems:**

Check which type of solution would suit you best, On premises or cloud. You should also check all the potential of the platform and possible integrations, because with outsystems it is very likely that it is possible to quickly develop some internal solutions that are currently being done in some other paid platform.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In outsytems we are building the customer area of another application, built with another technology. The way that outsystems was able to fit in the solution we already have was a major benefit. The other benefits come from the speed at which we can evolve and grow our solutions.

  ### 50. OutSystems: Fast and Secure, but Pricey

What I like most about OutSystems is that it's fast, secure, meets various compliance requirements, and allows for complete and rapid development.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

What I dislike about OutSystems is the high license fees and the limited number of users.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSystems solves the business problem of rapid development, allowing us to quickly adapt to market changes. Building within the platform is also intuitive, which enhances our efficiency
