## OutSystems Reviews
  ### 1. Great Tool for Building Applications Quickly and Efficiently

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ahammed A. | Principal Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2025

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

One of the most noticeable improvements recently is the stronger focus on AI-powered development. Features that support automation and intelligent workflows make it easier to build smarter applications with less effort. Along with this, the mobile development experience has improved with a more modern runtime and better-performing UI components, making apps feel smoother and more native.

Another thing I like is the increased flexibility in workflows and UI customization. The platform now feels more mature with better support for reusable logic, improved integrations, and stronger governance and security features. Overall, these updates help speed up development while still giving enough control to handle more complex enterprise use cases

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

There are still a few areas where OutSystems can improve. The biggest one is pricing and licensing transparency—costs can be quite high and sometimes confusing, especially as applications scale or for smaller teams. Many users also feel that while the platform is powerful, it can become complex to manage for larger or more customized applications.

Another area for improvement is flexibility and customization. Since it’s a proprietary platform, there can be limitations when building highly specific or niche solutions, and some integrations with external or specialized tools can be challenging. Improving debugging, source control capabilities, and overall developer experience for advanced use cases would make the platform even stronger.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSystems has helped us address the challenge of delivering applications faster without sacrificing quality. Previously, development cycles were lengthy, with frequent bottlenecks around integrations and UI consistency. With OutSystems, we can rapidly prototype, iterate, and release applications, which has significantly reduced our time-to-market. The platform also helps in modernizing legacy systems by connecting them with newer digital solutions, ensuring business continuity while still innovating. This has resulted in improved team productivity, reduced technical debt, and faster response to business needs.

  ### 2. Outsystems: The core shell for AI progress

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jorge L. | Lowcode Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2025

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

The AI features they have been introducing these last months have given a complete revamp to the image the platform has. They introduce a new world of posibilities and change the paradigm: Outsystems is not an AI competitor, but an AI companion and accelerator.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

For sure they can improve their training paths (the technology would greatly benefit from having more experts on it) and their overall communication about upcoming features, specially in such an uncertainous season we are living in

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Right now, Outsystems allows us to mitigate a big gap that exists in our company: The adaptability to new requirements in a business-demanding way. It is common for our businesses to have to adapt to new requirements due to changes in the environment, regulations or market environments, and therefore they need a sufficiently flexible solution that favours time-to-market.

  ### 3. I love how fast OutSystems can develop and their customization is also top notch

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter B. | Managing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

The Data Fabric is what finally won me over - as opposed to having to migrate data out of your CRM or other API’s or Legacy Databases, you simply create a virtualized representation of all of the data types you want to work with and then use SQL to query it as if the data were already merged together - sounds too good to be true but it generally works. Development Speed - Yes It Is Real - The amount of boilerplate code and compile times have been removed and you simply login and begin developing and something functional appears quickly.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

The UI Components are the weak link and it is really a major issue if your company has strict Brand Guidelines - you can create something functional quickly, but creating it to look “exactly” like the application you would have created using a real Web Framework is really painful and takes a lot of time. Petty One - In Expression Rules, the Input Parameter Boxes Are Tiny And You Can’t Resize Them Which Is Just Annoying Daily Inconvenience For Developers.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We basically had Processes Living In Excel Spreadsheets and Email Chains and Someone’s Head And None Of It Was Tracked Or Audited Or Scalable. OutSystems Replaces That With Actual Applications That Manage The Workflow Enforce The Rules And Keep A Proper Record Of Everything Without Needing A Full Engineering Team To Build And Maintain It. The Time From “We Need This Process Fixed” To “It’s Running In Production” Is Genuinely Shorter Than Traditional Development And That Is The Core Thing It Delivers.

  ### 4. Rapid Development with Robust Tooling

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hiren R.

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

I use OutSystems primarily for rapid application development and delivery of ERP-grade web and mobile apps. I have leveraged it to build scalable internal tools, automate business workflows, and efficiently integrate with existing systems. What I like most about OutSystems is the speed of development combined with strong built-in tooling. Features like visual development, one-click deployment, and seamless integration capabilities make it easy to go from idea to production quickly. These features directly improve both productivity and reliability in my day-to-day work. Visual development lets me design the UI, data models, and workflows in a single interface. The integration capabilities are especially valuable because most ERP apps don't exist in isolation. The setup of OutSystems was quite straightforward. Since it's a low-code platform, most environment setup, configuration, and deployment steps are streamlined. I would rate it 9 out of 10, as OutSystems is highly effective for rapid development as well as for deployments.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

Debugging complex issues can sometimes be less transparent compared to traditional coding, especially when abstraction hides underlying behavior.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use OutSystems for rapid app development and delivery of ERP-grade apps. It addresses slow development cycles and complexity, simplifying UI and backend integration. Visual development, one-click deployment, and seamless integration boost productivity and reliability.

  ### 5. OutSystems will save your team time, but their pricing model has left me feeling worried

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Olga G. | Chief Product Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

Honestly I love that I can stop writing boilerplate code all day. Dragging and dropping my logic is so much quicker than typing it in and at least for now I'm tired as hell. The automation features also make it easy to get rid of those boring manual data entry tasks and I'm happy with how active the community is as I have relied on the forum when the documentation does not make sense.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

Making the UI feel custom is really difficult. It feels outdated compared to other modern web frameworks and our marketers always complain that it doesn't exactly match the brand image. The licensing cost is pretty high for what it does and also I find that debugging can be frustrating when the error message is vague.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly automating the boring back office stuff and we use it to integrate multiple databases without moving all of the data which would be a huge headache. To eliminate the spreadsheets that everyone keeps sending each other via email. It allows us to build internal tools quickly.

  ### 6. Old software that functions as needed with my mess

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul A. | Associate Director of Information Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

Honestly I've been using this since the screen was orange on a Mac Plus back in 1979 or something. The flexibility of the software has allowed me to be able to add fields to a live database (without kicking users off) and I thought that would crash everything. Instead I could create an entire ERP system without a team of developers and I assume it won't disappear tomorrow since it's supported by Apple.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

It seems like they change their licensing model each year and I find it annoying to keep up with. In addition to everything mentioned before I also do not understand why there is no Android app available and I also find it difficult to make responsive designs in order to work on the web and I feel like the way it works is very clumsy and my back also hurts. Furthermore, the anonymous submission form we have has some issues as well.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We previously were dealing with "excel hell" (as you probably know). This has allowed me to automate many of the things we used to do manually with invoicing and shipping labels, etc and prior to this, we wasted a tremendous amount of time performing repetitive tasks. Now, I am able to develop a new feature and test it in real-time while all other users continue to perform their work and then determine whether or not what I developed will work.

  ### 7. Exceptional Support, Smooth Onboarding Process

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jackie H. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

I find OutSystems' customer service amazing. They are very good to work with, being very kind, responsive, and always quickly resolving any issues. It's impressive that they waste no time getting the right people involved to solve issues quickly and develop what we need rapidly. They are extremely fast with issue resolution, and any time a problem pops up, they escalate and solve it faster than any other vendor. I also appreciate that with the support from OutSystems' professional services team, even a complex setup process went smoothly. It's great that OutSystems provides automated onboarding, which shortens the manual work required and decreases the time to onboard an account, accelerating speed to revenue.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

There is nothing I dislike about OutSystems other than I wish I had them soner.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSystems provides us with automated onboarding, shortening the amount of manual work and decreasing the time to onboard an account, which accelerates speed to revenue.

  ### 8. OutSystems: Rapid Development with AI-Driven Capabilities

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2022

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

OutSystems continues to impress with its ability to rapidly develop scalable applications while following best practices and proper architecture. Its adaptability makes it easy for anyone to begin developing applications. Additionally, with the introduction of OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC), developers can leverage cloud-native capabilities and seamlessly build AI agents, further enhancing application intelligence and scalability.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

OutSystems can improve its development environment, particularly the IDE Service Studio. While it’s a powerful tool, the latest version has introduced some challenges, especially with screen development, which feels less intuitive. Developers often find themselves testing CSS in external tools like Chrome before integrating it into OutSystems, which could be streamlined for better efficiency. Smoother UI customization options within the IDE would make development more seamless.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With my previous experience of using JAVA Angular for full stack development, I had to develop the front end and backend seperately& then had to work on the integration, deployment and most importantly security. With Outsystems I don't need to work on these aspects as Outsystems itself provides all these aspects and that's the best part I like about it. Also,it makes it easier to concentrate more on the architecture and the best practices to implement.

  ### 9. Accelerates Production with Ease

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ron R. | Senior Software Engineer II, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

I appreciate OutSystems for its fast time to production, which makes it easy to create, test, and deploy applications quickly. I love that it's a full-stack solution that allows me to work within one environment to build and complete applications, as well as write mobile and reactive websites and processes. I find the drag and drop widgets particularly helpful because they build complexity into them, making complex tasks easy. Access to the Forge is another feature I value, as it provides almost anything needed for specialty projects.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

I find it hard sometimes to apply CSS to different elements.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSystems speeds up time to production and simplifies hard tasks with its full stack environment and drag-and-drop widgets, making it easy to create and deploy applications without leaving the platform.

  ### 10. Revolutionizing App Development with AI-Powered, Syntax-Free Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chirag T. | Software developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2025

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

Outsystems is a low code development enviroment platform which is syntax free and you dont need to follow a traditional syntax we need to simply write our logic . in outsystems we can also use a AI features "Ai Mentor" where we can simply monitor our application performance it will also provide a suggestions how to optimize our code and what are the best practices need to follow i personally love this application development tool.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

In outsystems the thing i dont like was to refresh a dependencies in Outsystems O11 version .but the good news is this issue is also resolved in in outsystems ODC version. so i have have nothing in my hand to dislike it .

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using a outsystem i was a Dot-Net developer so the main problem in that is to write a code with its syntax and logic take a lot of time and efforts but , while the outsystems came in market with this low code features then it had changes everything in outsystems you can easily write a code without any care of the syntax you only focus a logic part then you can easily achieve your project by this rapid development . I think this is really benefiting me.

**Official Response from Erin Koerpel:**

> It's great to hear that OutSystems has made a positive impact on your development process. We understand the challenges of traditional coding, and we're glad that our low code platform has provided a more efficient and rapid development experience for you, Chirag!
