Orchard is a leader in the laboratory information system industry and offers a variety of laboratory system solutions, including a SaaS model. Orchard serves more than 2,000 laboratories across the country, helping them improve efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance integration. Orchard’s products are installed in physician groups and clinics, hospitals, independent reference labs, student health centers, veterinary labs, public health organizations, universities, and retail facilities. The design and development of Harvest LIS, with ongoing input from a diverse user base, results in a multitude of powerful, flexible features capable of handling a variety of laboratory workflows and business situations. Harvest LIS is designed to be used for both clinical and environmental test data, and it contains special case management tools and configurability for multiple types of laboratories. ## Orchard Harvest Reviews ### 1. There are a lot of features that come with the package that are missing in other platforms. The test dictionaries are easily navigated and the system can be customized to you lab pretty easily. My experience in using this system is in a small rural lab, and it has been great so far. We have no issues training new employees on it's use. Many of them comment on how easy it was to learn and use. We have few issues interfacing to other vendors as well. This is a big deal in today's electronic based healthcare records. **What do you dislike about Orchard Harvest?** The main issue I face is the nightly downtime that the system requires. This could be caused by our current version not being completely up to date though. The downtime is a turn around time killer in the middle of the night. A big negative in a LIS in 2019 and is quite frankly unacceptable. **Recommendations to others considering Orchard Harvest:** I would recommend looking into it as a possible solution for those in the market. It most likely would not be a great solution for a network of labs within a health system though in my opinion. **What problems is Orchard Harvest solving and how is that benefiting you?** Utilizing Harvest we are able to track and mange our STAT times with the Emergency Room. Being able to upload data into Excel formats allows for easy report building. ### 2. Orchard allows us to print weekly reports that helps us with our weekly benchmarking. ### 3. But does not have the latest and greatest technology out in the market place.
