## Orbus Software Reviews
  ### 1. Attractive Interface, but With Potential for Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Augusto P. | Digital Adoption Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Orbus Software?**

I like the design and the look & feel of Orbus Software. I also appreciate the user interface and the ability to generate dashboards through easy interaction with the inclusion and management of data.

**What do you dislike about Orbus Software?**

Notifications to users about changes in portfolio data are not efficient. It is difficult to lock the inclusion of objects and models for specific user niches. There is no user management module to designate master users and allow them to make changes and manage teams. There are no fields to filter and search data in the user and permissions module. There is no tree view for products and digital platforms and their respective relationships. Furthermore, the initial setup was not easy as there was no option to perform a batch load.

**What problems is Orbus Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Orbus Software provides robust information on digital portfolio management and facilitates the creation of dashboards through easy interaction with data.

  ### 2. OrbusInfinity: A Powerful “Source of Truth” for Strategic Portfolio Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave S. | Enterprise Infrastructure and Applications Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Orbus Software?**

OrbusInfinity enables our organization not only to view an inventory of the applications and technologies in our environment, but also to understand which business capabilities they support and how changes may impact the business. It helps elevate our information into a true business asset.

Its integration with the Microsoft suite of tools gives us a consistent interface on a high-performing platform. By using Orbus as a “source of truth,” while still leveraging familiar interfaces for senior management and individual contributors, we’ve been able to cut down on duplication and depend on fewer overlapping tools. This helps reduce our total cost of ownership and, in turn, improves our ROI.

With any tool of this type, the value is in the quality of the data you enter.

There have only been a couple of times where we have used support but those instances have been prompt in the responses. The knowledge base is well written to allow for 'self-service'.

As an Enterprise Architect, I would recommend this tool for any company looking at a Strategic Portfolio Management tool.

**What do you dislike about Orbus Software?**

The main drawback of Orbus is that it doesn’t automatically discover the assets in your environment, such as applications and technology. That said, there are areas where Orbus is making strides to improve this. Azure and the emergence of Flow

**What problems is Orbus Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Orbus has helped us move from an inventory-based system to a platform that lets us make decisions based on business impact.

  ### 3. Centralised, Flexible Modelling That Enables Our Large-Scale Transformation Programme

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Annetta S. | Principal Enterprise Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Orbus Software?**

Infinity provides a centralised, integrated model that connects our processes, applications, and other components. It allows us to visualise these through views and reporting functionality, and to share them with colleagues outside the architecture community.

The tool also offers flexibility in how diagrams are created. Our organisation uses both Visio and Draw.io, and Infinity supports both.

Adopting Infinity has helped us move away from spreadsheets and has driven greater consistency across our solution design practices.

**What do you dislike about Orbus Software?**

There is not yet parity between Visio and the native diagramming (Draw.io) capabilities within the tool. That said, the native diagramming features have developed a lot within the last year and have an active roadmap.

**What problems is Orbus Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are progressing a large-scale transformation programme with multiple workstreams and concurrent design activities happening at pace. We are using Orbus as the central repository to coordinate these design activities on the programme.

  ### 4. Intuitive, Comprehensive, and Seamlessly Integrated

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simon D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Orbus Software?**

I find Orbus Software incredibly intuitive and easy to use, even for the most uninitiated user. The user interface is exceptionally good, which makes it easy for anyone to use the software meaningfully. I really like its native Microsoft integrations, such as with Azure, SharePoint, and other Microsoft enterprise applications and solutions, which integrate quite seamlessly. The visualizations and reports from Orbus Software are absolutely brilliant and allow us to share critical, meaningful information to large audiences with ease. The level of service quality from Orbus as a company is exceptional, with customer success teams and account teams working really hard to understand and help overcome business problems. Their communications, including webinars and knowledge bases, build a whole community around the software that enhances the experience. The roadmap planning workshops and webinars are brilliant as they help us plan improvements and take advantage of developments within the solution.

**What do you dislike about Orbus Software?**

I think the ability to move data around models a lot easier could really do with some improvement. This is especially important when using it in a change in transformation capacity, where transitional states of architecture become baseline when projects go live. Additionally, if you could include project and program management functionality, it would really have an all-in-one business change and transformation solution.

**What problems is Orbus Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Orbus Software matures our disaster recovery and provides a digital representation of the company, aiding in cyber incidents. It serves as a source of truth for processes and supports application and technology rationalization for better change planning, using real architecture data evidence.

  ### 5. Simplifies Business Architecture with Intuitive Visuals

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Polly C. | Business Solutions Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Orbus Software?**

I like using Orbus Software for business architecture because it helps us visualize our estate effectively. The capability landscape views and the relationships between objects are really helpful. The relationships feature makes complicated things simpler to understand and allows us to relay this information clearly to business SMEs. The landscape view provides a simple and clear perspective for high-level stakeholders. Additionally, I found the initial setup of Orbus Software to be very easy.

**What do you dislike about Orbus Software?**

I think the drawing capabilities could be improved so we're less reliant on the clunky Visio add-in. It would be great to have custom colors and shapes, and more intuitive relationship creation from drawing links between objects.

**What problems is Orbus Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Orbus Software helps us visualize our estate and simplifies complex relationships for business SMEs. The capability landscape view is a simple view for high-level stakeholders.

  ### 6. Robust for Enterprise Architecture, Slightly Clunky Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David M. | Senior Business Analyst and Low Code Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Orbus Software?**

I like that Orbus Software is relatively inexpensive. It's built on Microsoft Office 365, which is pretty handy because it allows me to use Excel to coordinate diagrams and datasets. This integration makes it easy for a broad group of people in my organization to interact with the product, even if they don't have a license, as they can comfortably use Excel spreadsheets to manipulate data which we then import. It's user-friendly in that way.

**What do you dislike about Orbus Software?**

Trying to put together some models that use a variety and mix of different objects can be a bit clunky. You've got to engage their help desk staff. It's still just a little bit clunky, but that's probably more because of the way that Visio works compared to some of the other modeling tools I've used in the past. One of the things that is a little bit frustrating in terms of the use of it is it sits on top of SharePoint. We haven't really organized SharePoint well, so it's something that we need to revisit to clean up and get a lot more intuitive. It also uses American spelling. I would prefer that I can select proper English.

**What problems is Orbus Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Orbus Software solves the problem of having an organized repository for process artifacts.

  ### 7. Streamlined Enterprise Architecture with Intuitive UI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Orbus Software?**

It remains the same great user experience and tool

**What do you dislike about Orbus Software?**

I just do not want to mention in my review specific cities or countries only the continent name, so it would be updated to:
For some colleagues who are in Oceania, they have reported a higher latency to access Orbus Software. I'm not sure if the issue comes from the Internet connection, but they don't complain about other services.

**What problems is Orbus Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Orbus Software to organize enterprise architecture, helping us clarify relationships between technology and applications, map capabilities, and assess our application landscape's maturity. It offers structured views to understand data flows, align business goals, and facilitates stakeholder collaboration.

  ### 8. Great Microsoft Suite Leverage, but Performance Issues Hold It Back

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shamron A. | Cell Culture Operations Associate Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Orbus Software?**

I like how it leverages Microsoft’s suite of tools.

**What do you dislike about Orbus Software?**

Performance issues seem to detract from its promised features.

**What problems is Orbus Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's useful as a repository for our application portfolio and business architecture, and helps us maintain high level relationships.

  ### 9. iServer Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Orbus Software?**

Our organisation has traditionally used Visio to maintain technical and architecture diagrams. iServer allows us to maintain a central repository of objects, meaning any changes can be quickly updated across multiple diagrams without the need to manually update each one. In addition, the impact analysis features allow us to focus in on areas of change within the organisation and then identify the impact of those changes. Previously we relied solely upon the knowledge of our architects and subject matter experts. But now, this information is easily accessible and stored in a single, central repository.

Technically, iServer is a very stable product and we have never experienced any major issues, even during product upgrades. The support team is very responsive and any minor issues and service requests are usually resolved within a matter of hours.

**What do you dislike about Orbus Software?**

The speed of the application when checking in / out documents can be slow sometimes. But the iServer 2021 upgrade, which we only recently implemented, does address this and brings about some performance enhancements in this area.

**What problems is Orbus Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

iServer has been instrumental in our quest to document our organisation's enterprise architecture. The tool allows us to capture all of our technology and application architecture, but also show the relationships with our business processes and capabilities. Initially used only within the Architecture team, iServer is now regularly accessed by the wider IT and Business Change community, to support decision making and impact analysis.

  ### 10. iServer: The Versatile Tool for Business Architecture, Business Analysis and Knowledge Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Orbus Software?**

I like the ease of use with which iServer integrates with Microsoft Visio, the templates, and the excellent service provided by Orbus. iServer favorably compares with another well known requirements management tool I had the opportunity to try out.

**What do you dislike about Orbus Software?**

I dislike that the out-of-the-box TOGAF framework forces the user to create certain diagrams within their folders for each TOGAF step. This unnecessarily hinders iServer adoption outside of the Business Architecture realm, because it gives users the wrong impression that certain diagrams are not available to them at all, when they are, in the appropriate folder.

**Recommendations to others considering Orbus Software:**

Choose the proper iServer solution configuration for your purpose; there are four of them. Enterprise Architecture comes with a TOGAF framework and iServer will expect you to follow it. But there are three other 'flavors': Strategic Portfolio Management, Enterprise Business Process Analysis and Integrated Risk Management. Also, choose your integration modules from the start: Data Exchange is most likely the most valuable since it will allow you to import items you already have, instead of having to recreate them manually from scratch. Explore the other seven integration modules: BI Connect, ServiceNow Connect, SharePoint Connect, Project Connect, BPM Connect and (REST) API.

**What problems is Orbus Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

iServer replaces individual business analysis models in separate folders in a shared drive with a single repository library containing all individual objects within those diagrams. Establishing relationships (traces) between those elements provides the added value of displaying interdependencies in real-time in a graphic format when something changes. Add governance to regulate how and by whom shapes can be edited and you have a workable framework for collaboration on a model of the enterprise processes, systems, and strategy.

  ### 11. Joins the architecture dots...and more!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Orbus Software?**

We are creating, accessing, and sharing a blueprint of our organisation using easy-to-use tools. This information provides value to service owners and customers alike by seeing our services landscape and associated technology at a level that suits them by using customisable 'views.' Information can be created and aggregated once, in one standardised repository, but used many times in various diagrams, making updates easy and quick to manage. iServer is the repository we use to capture our architecture at all levels, which in turn supports decision making, helps us identify potential gaps, enables better risk management, and supports future developments by enabling us to understand the present state.

**What do you dislike about Orbus Software?**

The templates seem relatively static; I'd love it if Orbus could apply theme options/graphics to make them more aesthetically appealing to users/customers. It's something I spend quite a while amending if I want a diagram to appear less technical/complex and clearer or more presentable for colleagues in business service delivery areas.

**What problems is Orbus Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can move towards rationalising our estate further by interrogating the whole picture. Having access to architecture data potentially provides options for more enterprise solutions, especially as we can view our partnering authorities landscape who use the same system. Information and ownership are transparent, which benefits contract management. Business colleagues can view our application catalogue and discuss suitability and capabilities with owners before contacting suppliers or requesting a new system if they have an identified need. We can be more efficient in saving money and time by increasing self-serve options beyond IT. We're a small Architecture team, so providing 'views' of information not only shares the knowledge but also inspires increased collaboration and positive change.

  ### 12. iServer is a cost effective EA tool which brings transparency across our organisation.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris T. | Lead Technical Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Orbus Software?**

1. iServer provides for Visio Integration and familiar Microsoft UI for modelling and provides a web portal to view artefacts which is key for involving business stakeholders.
2. Querying, drilling down through the enterprise stack to enhance decision making.
3. Great customer support, always willing to help and a knowledgebase.

**What do you dislike about Orbus Software?**

1. Advanced customisation (custom visual iconography) should be simpler - a wizard would help increase productivity. The current method requires several steps that takes time which adds up.
2. Would like some system connectors out of the box e.g. ITSM.

**What problems is Orbus Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cost management,
Create internal/operational efficiencies,
Enhance decision making,
Improve business process outcomes,
Improve customer relations/service,
Improve business process agility

  ### 13. Enables Strategic Management of IT

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeffrey L. | Executive Director, Information Systems, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Orbus Software?**

The underlying database, and ability to customize attributes have become more useful than I first anticipated. I spend most of my time updating data in the underlying database and then having that feed Power BI reports.

**What do you dislike about Orbus Software?**

We currently have the on prem version, which requires people to VPN in to work in the product and requires Windows for the client and the diagramming tool, which is Visio. We will be switching to the 365 version which will solve these minor inconveniences.

**Recommendations to others considering Orbus Software:**

Start with 365. This started as an internal IS project, but the potential for using it to communicate throughout the organization makes the cloud version of great potential value.

**What problems is Orbus Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are leveraging the tool now for Business Relationship Management, Strategic Portfolio Management and general Enterprise Architecture. We're still developing our program at this point, so there is an extensive "wishlist" of things to for us to fully implement.

  ### 14. Enterprise Architecture Catalogue and much more...

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nuno O. | Chief Executive Officer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Orbus Software?**

All the community around the Enterprise Architecture concept. From good articles and insights from other persons in the same area to free assets that everyone can use! With self-explanatory videos and demos, the consult community always willing to 'show their face', its clearly a partner to take into consideration. The market segment approach is always very good to showcase benefits.

**What do you dislike about Orbus Software?**

Sometimes, Enterprise Architects are not able to communicate appropriately, and tools should be able to simplify their vision. Trying to put many different topics into a single tool is not easy but the best tool should also aim to simplify the communication and bridge the gap between different stakeholders. iServer should continue to move into this direction.

**What problems is Orbus Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The major challenge is always to 'sell' the concept of such tools internally. With iServer and its different viewpoints, all types of architects and technical leads can have a centralized platform to 'tell the history' of a company. If you are looking for a central catalogue of systems, processes, operations and technology, you should consider iServer; even more if you belong to a market segment, they are already deeply engaged since they candrive you.

  ### 15. Great working experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bruno A. | Enterprise Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Orbus Software?**

the supporting team are very helfully. the tool is very user friendly and very close with the microsoft experience. the fact that the tool as a fully integrated capability to integrate with microsoft environments is also a very good point.

**What do you dislike about Orbus Software?**

Since the 365 version of the tool as less years under development there are a few features that are not available yet (compared with the onPrem version). The fact that the tool is so "close" to microsoft evironement there cold be a few features that could be more dificult to explore.

**What problems is Orbus Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem is to creat a single repositori of truth, with the identification of the dependencies bettewn business layer, application layer and technology layer.

  ### 16. Very useful tool to support digital transformation processes.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paulo C. | Consultant - Service Area Leader, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Orbus Software?**

Power BI packages and solution templates.

**What do you dislike about Orbus Software?**

In iServer365 data should be more democratized. The licensing of viewers is something that can be a show shopper.

**What problems is Orbus Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Digital Transformation roadmap is more accurate because we can have a central repository. The benefits are a centralized cockpit for KPIs that are useful to support decision making.

  ### 17. Architecture Enabling Product

  ### 23. Flexible, Efficient & Simple Implementation.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Troy M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Orbus Software?**

What makes the product useful is the function of efficient data modeling by generating simple graphs for easy comprising. You will easily use the Visio-based interface. Many videos and training materials online are available for beginning.

**What do you dislike about Orbus Software?**

Visio integration is often clunk and raises the curve of learning. A beginner can take a while to get comfortable with the device. There can be little change with respect to visualization.

**Recommendations to others considering Orbus Software:**

This software offers excellent graphs with respect to your reporting results. It is easy to use and I would suggest anyone who searches for show devices.

**What problems is Orbus Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

He has used iServer to create a business map of physical and logical data components as one of a number of tools. This is also used as a folder for the institution's applications.

  ### 24. Strategic Enterprise Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carrie G. | Senior Project Manager , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Orbus Software?**

I enjoy the ease of integration with the Microsoft tools that I currently use to tranfer data and create visuals or reports; it maximizes time and prevents me from having to duplicate work.

**What do you dislike about Orbus Software?**

Functionality is limited for process mapping so additional tools like Visio are still preferable. The iServer tool is somewhat complicated and required formal training in order for my team to begin making progress using it.

**What problems is Orbus Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My agency utilized iServer as one of several tools with the main goal of creating an as-is enterprise map of physical and logical data components.

  ### 25. iServer Experience

**What do you like best about Orbus Software?**

Supports different object types and also allows us to create custom types. Being able to click on the objects and getting the information of that object on the portal.

**What do you dislike about Orbus Software?**

Not customizable in general. Some tasks requires manual work such as comiting objects within a visio diagram. Portal is also not customizable.

**Recommendations to others considering Orbus Software:**

There are some other open-source applications that you can consider

**What problems is Orbus Software solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used it as a repository that contains the applications that the institution is hosting.
