You don't need to be an expert in many languages to create a functional application. Most features are available out-of-the-box, which is great for fast delivery. **What do you dislike about Oracle Application Express?** PWA features for offline use are still not great. If you need a serious offline-first mobile app, other frameworks are probably better. Also, team development and CI/CD can be tricky. Oracle added 'Working Copies' recently to help with this, but it’s still not as easy as standard Git workflow in other languages. **What problems is Oracle Application Express solving and how is that benefiting you?** It solves the problem of building professional tools quickly using a low-code approach. I can use many ready-made components based on the Oracle Database, like interactive reports, charts, and maps, which look great without much effort. I can also implement complex workflows and advanced data filtering modules very easily. What’s more, integration with other platforms is very simple, and the built-in ETL tools make data loading easy. You basically have everything you need in one place. The biggest benefit is that clients can modify these reports and filters by themselves without contacting a developer. This 'self-service' approach saves me a lot of time on maintenance and allows me to deliver more features in less time. ### 2. Thanks to a vast number of built-in components, creating both simple and complex applications is a breeze. **What do you dislike about Oracle Application Express?** Oracle APEX isn't particularly well-suited for offline application development; unfortunately, it requires a constant database connection. Mobile applications aren't the tool's strong suit either. **What problems is Oracle Application Express solving and how is that benefiting you?** I've often created applications for numerous clients that began with the phrase, "I have an Excel spreadsheet that does this and that." My task was to transfer the functionality from that spreadsheet to Oracle APEX. Thanks to the ability to import such a file and build, for example, an interactive report based on it, the first steps of such an implementation were quick and simple. ### 3. It’s still possible to achieve what you need, but it requires deeper knowledge of JavaScript and CSS. There are a few very good blogs but overall when you google for an issue on Oracle Apex you don't have a lot of choice. Besides Oracle documentation is quite difficult to understand. We do have other Oracle applications but as of today we are still working on some projects so I cannot say of we are going to integrate APEX with those other applications in the future. One of the great things is that in case of simple access this is a great tool that can spare us a lot of time and money **What problems is Oracle Application Express solving and how is that benefiting you?** I needed fast access to data for some users, e.g. query only and I could create an application in just a couple of hours for them. It allows me to easily deploy the the ORACLE APEX solution across my client's business. In the past the cost of developing application using oracle Forms and Reports was so high that it was dificult and expensive to develop business solutions based on Oracle. Oracle APEX has given us more opportunities to develop solutions in last time with less costs for application development. I love the Quick SQL function it's an awesome feature that enable me to build the modal of the business logic that I'm implementing in the design & development of my Oracle APEX Solution. **What do you dislike about Oracle Application Express?** It would be good to have some advance sample application included as APEX Demo that users can study to develop advance Oracle APEX solutions. Allowing oracle APEX to connect to other Databases such as MYSQL or MSSQL would set APEX apart from all Low Code Platforms. **Recommendations to others considering Oracle Application Express:** I highly recommend Oracle Application Express APEX. Oracle APEX has allowed us to develop robust solutions that satisfy our customers requirements. **What problems is Oracle Application Express solving and how is that benefiting you?** With Oracle APEX I'm able to create Finance Solutions much quicker then before. I was able to develop a Beneficiary Management System that has been paying land owners here in PNG.
