We needed an inexpensive way for remote workers to connect to our customers via an ipsec tunnel network established at Google. This does that. The client is lightweight.
I like how there are multiple endpoints that we can connect to. It's taken some experimentation to figure out which endpoint works better than others. Periodically we need to change from Chicago to Boston, Dallas, or Los Angeles when one of the nodes stops working. Would prefer that it manage all that itself, but at least it's not a one-node-and-done solution.
2024-12-12: The stability of the nodes has improved substantially. We haven't had any node inconsistencies for quite a while now. We've actually dropped most of our GCP networking connections in favor of OpenVPN because of cost, ease of implementation, and stability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Licensing is by device, so if you have multiple machines for a single person, it costs more. Seems that since the rebranding, the service hasn't been nearly as stable as it was before. Often times our guys will get caught in a reCaptcha loop, unable to login.

Easy to set up. With some brands is easy to link using the .ovpn file. With others is just a matter of using the .ovpn to create the certificates. I have been working over 3 year as a techinal support in my company and some often I have to ask for help. OpenVpn has provided one of the most fast&eficient support I have recieved. I use CloudConnexa to support my clients. The process of installing openvpn is simple and secure. Once loaded I can connect to their system whenever they need help. It's pricing is fair especially considering the time it saves and the ease of connecting. Their portal is clear and easy to understand. Customer support is also quick and helpful. Speeds could be a little faster. I dont seem to get more than a couple of MB/s but thats generally enough. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
OpenVPN has shown to be very reliable for our current needs. Their support team's responsiveness and expertise stands out the most. The few times that we have encountered an issue, their support has been quick and accurate. I am very big on not just how an app functions whena ll is well, but how is the support when reaching out to their helpdesk. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I haven't encountered any drawbacks from OpenVPN. Their admin console is pretty straightforward foward and I have been able to use their documentation without issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Installation is super simple, for both the service and the end clients. Connection is very very stable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only two downsides are:
* the creation of a virtual machine on any VPC in our cloud infrastructure, but even that is super simple
* EVERY connection opens a new default browser tab to authenticate, and if the browser is closed it opens them. For me, a new browser comes with all the previously used tabs, so it might take a long time to open
* Lately we have limited the service to 3 devices per user - and people started having failures to connect. They actually needed help from our admins to delete their profiles and start over on all 1-3 devices based on their usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I appreciate most is that every time the VPN is activated, the user must authenticate through Single Sign-On (SSO). This enables us to link all our critical systems to the VPN, and if necessary, we can easily revoke access by deactivating the user’s main account using the SSO. I find it frustrating that it randomly requires reauthentication throughout the day, which opens my browser and disrupts my work. I wish it could handle this silently in the background. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The implementation team at CloudConnexa was a cut above. They were able to precisely guide me in configuration of IPSEC VPN tunnels using Unifi gateways. The system has continued working very well, providing reliable inter-cloud connectivity using SD-WAN.
We use this daily in Production right now and feel comfortable depending on the customer support team for help. The system was very easy to integrate into our existing infrastructure.
