What I love most is how easy it is to use! When I’m at home and need to access my company’s internal network, it takes just a few seconds to connect. Unlike other software products we use, the licenses aren’t tied to the number of employees, but rather to the number of concurrent users. Since our employees typically work from home just one or two days a week, this approach makes much better use of our licenses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I remember that installing and getting it to run for the first time was quite a hassle, but that was over six years ago. I’m confident they’ve made significant improvements since then. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It works well on all platforms where as competors products are not universally compatable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Cost has gone up but the support and updates are also frequent and clear. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to setup, very reliable. OpenVPN clients are easy to setup too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It works well, but requires commercial licenses. It would be nice to have an Opensource version of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
After the initial setup, little work. Runs stable and fast as a VM in Microsoft's failover cluster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing in the German language. Different levels of support staff at OpenVPN. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's easy to impliment and set up. Being able to connect users to secure network remotly, quickly and easily is a time-saver and efficiant. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If a user has a differnet device used for authentication, the user and profle has to be wiped and re-created. It would be nice to re-authenticate without having to delete users and profiles and then re-adding them again Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can be configured with Terraform and bash scripts Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not easy to re-create the instances without losing existing data for a single instance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best thing about OpenVPN access server is how easy it is to spin up a new VPN server and use the client to connect to it.
We have several people using the server every day and there has been very minimal issues.
The integration for an SSL certificate is also quite nice as you can install an SSL directly from the access server's portal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do not like the admin portal within OpenVPN, the support isn't the best, and the documentation can be out-dated. Also, the last time I checked they were not being audited for SOC2 Compliance which can be a big no-go depending on your organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
OpenVPN of course is founded on OpenSource. Which means the VPN is mutli-platform and easily compatible and maintainable among many endpoints. SAML integration is great, and provides our required secured access. Its a simple streamlined VPN product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have honestly never had any issues aside from the occasional security flaw we need to patch, but that is not unique to OpenVPN. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Once it is set up, it's super easy to use, seamless, almost invisible yet effective. The customer support is excelllent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Really nothing to dislike. As for most services, direct customer support is slightly hidden as they "encourage" the user to make use of docs, faqa, and automated assistants. But once you do get to customer support it is outstanding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
