When it is unable to connect the errors don't provide much information. Also it does not have thin client to be able to use on any device Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ease of sign-in and deployment using SMAL SSO make OpenVPN such an easy product for end users to provision their own VPNs with limited IT knowledge. Its ease of Azure deployment made the whole setup process a breeze. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While it does support SAML, you still need to add the users manually (from my findings) to the OpenVPN server, it would be ideal if this pulled from the permissions on the enterprise app Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With the latest recent releases, the amount of modern integration with authentication services has been a treat. We specifically use Okta and the integration was quick and easy. Being a FOSS project and running on Linux means amazing stability and performance. With the ability to have a horizontally-scaled infrastructure and a central SQL DB makes this a great product for even larger organizations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I will say that the free license restriction of 2 simultaneous users for smaller use cases is a bit limiting. If you had 5-10 free simultaneous users with the free license, I think you'd attract more companies into the fold and they could grow into the product naturally. Easy to deploy and manage, great cost savings and saved us the certificate management overhead. Multi platform support is the best thing about it, client runs on all laptop and desktop systems without any issues, UX is pleasant. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Documentation is not very easy to manage and figure out. I had to rely on trial and error due to incomprehensible and overly complex documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It was very easy for our tech team to set up and configure , and for the end users it works perfectly with zero problems and gives us peace of mind Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There has been nothing that I have disliked. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to use and set up for required VPN connections to private subnets. MFA and user permissions were easy to set up and use. VPN profiles and the VPN client were easy to set up and use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
User management outside of SSO is cumbersome. Making changes also sometimes didn't stick and had to refresh the page and reapply the changes a multiple times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Cannot really think of any, other than pricing was very competitive until 2024, when there was a drastic increase, thus forcing us to decrease our licences compared to what we used to have, and then incrementally increasing licenses to fill our max needs versus having extras always available. What I love most is how easy it is to use! When I’m at home and need to access my company’s internal network, it takes just a few seconds to connect. Unlike other software products we use, the licenses aren’t tied to the number of employees, but rather to the number of concurrent users. Since our employees typically work from home just one or two days a week, this approach makes much better use of our licenses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I remember that installing and getting it to run for the first time was quite a hassle, but that was over six years ago. I’m confident they’ve made significant improvements since then. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
