My experience with OpenText has been nothing short of a corporate disaster. Despite never using their services and facing unavoidable inventory issues, they refused to offer any flexibility on their contract terms. Their responses were a parade of scripted, unhelpful jargon, and their only suggestion—find another retailer—was completely irrelevant given our situation.

To make matters worse, the outsourced onboarding process was a disaster. It felt like dealing with a disconnected, untrained team that had no real understanding of our needs or situation. The lack of empathy and support from this outsourced team only compounded our frustration. Attempts to escalate the issue were met with stonewalling and repeated boilerplate responses.

OpenText's handling of this situation has been a textbook example of how not to manage client relations. Their rigid contract terms, coupled with ineffective outsourced onboarding and a complete lack of real customer support, make them a company to avoid if you value responsive and effective service. OpenText products knowledge is tribal knowledge. There portal is accessible to the vendors and partners. Due to this finding, the practitioner is a great challenge. OpenText does lot of acquiring lot many smaller companies and for the same use, they have multiple products. For example for Document Management, they have a content server and Documentum. This confuses the client to which product one has to go.
