What do you like best about OpenReel?

Excellent features -- allows me to see the featured speaker, and for them to see me. Fast transfer of files. High quality capture -- ability to adjust lighting, etc. Clear training and follow-up support. Pricing model is easily understood. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenReel?

We have run into an issue where OpenReel conflicts with some company-required security applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering OpenReel:

It's a great way to capture remote subjects for statement or interview-style videos, and allows us to make the subject feel more comfortable (seeing the interviewer). It's also helpful to avoiding issues such as distracting background or poor lighting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenReel?

This powerful interface allow a director to remotely capture a subject on their own device. Multiple directors can join on the directing/watch side of the app, while the remote subject can view the director(s) on their own screen. Directors are able to control device video settings and monitor device features such as battery life and internet connection. Another amazing feature is the ability to load scripts into a teleprompter that allows the subject to read their script. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenReel?

As of the writing of this, we could only us Apple devices, although a desktop version in Beta mode, and an Android version in the works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This could truly elevate your business IF you have the right application scenarios. It is on the pricier side of apps and could easily cost you a lot of money if it's not used often. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenReel solving and how is that benefiting you?

OpenReel allows any company to capture video remotely on a mobile phone. This could be great for shooting client testimonies, marketing videos for dentists, realtors, etc.

The ability to stay at home base and remotely direct a video shoot save both time and money. The interface allows many powerful features, such as remotely controlling the subject's device features like lighting, front/rear camera, and constant monitor of remote device resources (camera, internet connection, etc.). What do you like best about OpenReel?

I like that the platform is pretty easy to use. It is pretty intuitive and does not require a lot of training. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenReel?

I wish that you could edit your video within the app (more than just trimming). You have to trim the video as soon as you are done filming - you cannot trim once uploaded. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Consider your needs - if you need full video editing software this product is not for you. If you need software that will shoot decent quality, short videos then this product will likely work for you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
