I found it useful to use OpenOffice Base when for a search I had a huge amount of data with information referring to different subjects. So it was convenient to create records for each subject and then add the various information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Microsoft office is expensive and switching to a yearly fee from one time made me look for alternatives and that is where OpenOffice comes in. It covers all the basic functionality you need and is free to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Open Office is one the best free software for your office work. It has most of the features available to use just as Microsoft office. You can create documents, worksheet, presentations and it does satisfy your needs with minimum features. It is a good alternative to Microsoft office. The user interface is simple and customizable. The software does not have as much features as other software does but you cant complain as it is free to use. The updates are not quite frequent and have to be manually done.
