## OpenComp Reviews
  ### 1. Not worth it - job data accuracy and search limitations need improvement

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2026

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

It gives data insight for the ranges and you can search for different jobs

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

1. Some of our most common jobs were either not in open comp at all or the data was totally different compared to actual postings we found online, so it was definitely not accurate and we had no idea where they were pulling from
2. there was a lot of overlap for titles/descriptions and so we pulled from sometimes 6 different data points and had to try and figure out what was most accurate for our positions. In some cases there were two different job titles with the EXACT same description, but the pay range was totally different.
3. You cannot search by job description, only title. For stuff like IT we found that we had to search for IT, information security, Help desk, and more, because job descriptions that aligned with our title were all titled a bunch of different ways. For us to get accurate data we just kept searching different titles. We might as well have done the same thing on Indeed.
4. For the price, it didn't really help our process all that much and was definitely not worth it.
5. The fact that a few jobs also did not match what we find in the market and were vastly different made it hard to trust any of the data at all, so we ended up cross checking with our own research anyway.
-- overall - waste of money.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It really did not help us solve what we were hoping to. I still had to do a bunch of my own research

**Official Response from Natalie Persico:**

> We're sorry to hear that you haven't had a positive experience using OpenComp. We would really like to hear more about your specific experience and discuss it with you. Please feel free to reach out to your customer success team at any time so we can ensure you're getting what you need out of our data and tools.

  ### 2. OpenComp Made Compensation Simple—Quick Setup, Comprehensive Features, Great Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erin S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2026

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

We vetted numerous compensation platforms, and OpenComp stood out as the most comprehensive option for a company of our size (200). Mapping positions across various geolocations and tailoring our compensation strategy was quick and straightforward. We were able to get up and running within weeks during implementation, and we’re now already in year two of using OpenComp for new positions and our focal review process. Compensation is no longer a headache for us, and we have a great team at OpenComp to answer questions and provide the support we need.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

We are not able to create hybrid roles to fully capture the scope of some of our employees. This would be a great improvement if we could design our roles to get a fuller compensation picture that reflects all that they do.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed reliable compensation data for our global population, data we could feel confident in and that was also user friendly for our team. OpenComp enabled us to quickly map our employees to the appropriate geo location, and it also made it easy to pull data quickly for promotions and relocations. Overall, it has made our team more efficient and helped eliminate manual, time consuming work.

**Official Response from Natalie Persico:**

> Thanks for sharing your positive experience with OpenComp! We're happy to hear that OpenComp has been able to simplify your compensation process and provide the support you need. We appreciate your feedback about the need for creating hybrid roles and will take that into consideration for future enhancements to our platform.

  ### 3. Easy-to-use platform for compensation benchmarking

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Veronica T. | Director of People, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2026

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

OpenComp is very easy to use and makes compensation benchmarking straightforward. The platform gives us quick visibility into market data so we can sense-check salary ranges and make more informed pay decisions. It saves a lot of time compared to pulling data from multiple surveys or spreadsheets. The team has also been responsive and helpful when questions come up.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

There are very occasional times when we want to compare very specific roles or levels that do not map perfectly to the available benchmarks, so some interpretation is still required. That said, this is fairly typical with compensation data and the platform still makes the process much easier than doing it manually.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OpenComp helps us benchmark compensation quickly and confidently so we can stay competitive in the market. Instead of piecing together data from different sources, we can review relevant benchmarks in one place and make informed decisions about salary ranges and offers. It has made our compensation planning process faster and more data-driven.

**Official Response from Natalie Persico:**

> We're thrilled to hear that OpenComp has made compensation benchmarking straightforward and saved you time. Our goal is to provide quick visibility into market data to help you make more informed pay decisions. We appreciate your feedback and are glad to hear that our team has been responsive and helpful.

  ### 4. OpenComp: Empowering Small Teams with Fast, Accurate Compensation Solutions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melissa E. | Sr. HR Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2025

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

What I appreciate most about OpenComp is its remarkable speed and accuracy in helping us develop fair, equitable, and market-aligned salary ranges. As a small organization with a People Team of only two, we simply don’t have the time to create compensation plans from the ground up. OpenComp has truly transformed this aspect of our work, providing us with instant clarity and confidence—something that is truly invaluable.

A major highlight for us has been the smooth implementation process and the seamless integration with Paylocity. The automatic data flow ensures we never have to manually update salary ranges or worry about inconsistencies, saving us significant time and removing the stress of redundant work.

Overall, OpenComp has been a game-changer for our team. It brings transparency, consistency, and fairness to our compensation strategy, making our small team feel empowered with the tools and capabilities of a much larger HR department.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

While OpenComp has proven to be highly valuable for our team, we have encountered a few challenges along the way. One issue is that some of our roles are quite specialized, which makes it difficult to find robust benchmark data. In these cases, the data available often feels limited, making it more challenging to establish salary ranges with the same confidence we have for more common positions.

Another area of difficulty is the lack of filtering options for compensation data by company size or industry. As a smaller organization that does not compete directly with large tech firms, it would be extremely beneficial to narrow benchmarks to companies that are more similar to ours. Without these filters, some of the compensation ranges can be skewed higher than what is realistic or competitive for our particular market.

Overall, these challenges are not dealbreakers, but having access to more detailed, role-specific data and additional filtering capabilities would make the platform even more precise and useful for companies like ours.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OpenComp is solving several major challenges that small People teams like ours face. With only two of us managing compensation for the entire organization, we simply don’t have the bandwidth to build market-aligned salary ranges from scratch or spend hours tracking down reliable data. OpenComp eliminates that burden by giving us fast, trustworthy benchmarks and clear, ready-to-use ranges.

It’s also solving the problem of consistency and equity across the company. Before OpenComp, updating or adjusting compensation required manual research and spreadsheets, which made it difficult to ensure fairness and transparency. Now, we have a central source of truth that helps us maintain structure, reduce bias, and communicate compensation more confidently to both candidates and employees.

The seamless integration with Paylocity has also solved the problem of double work and stale data. Since everything syncs automatically, we don’t have to worry about version control or manually keeping systems aligned.

Overall, OpenComp is helping us work smarter—not harder—by giving us accurate data, a scalable process, and the reassurance that our compensation practices are fair, competitive, and aligned with the market.

**Official Response from Natalie Persico:**

> We're thrilled to hear that OpenComp has been able to provide you with fast and accurate compensation solutions, saving your small team time and effort in developing fair and market-aligned salary ranges. We appreciate your feedback and are glad to have been a game-changer for your organization.

  ### 5. Great Visibility Into Pay Ranges Across U.S. Cities

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meegan R. | Human Resource Business Partner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2026

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

OpenComp has given us the ability to view compensation ranges across cities throughout America. Its helped us tremendously as a startup.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

Data for Latin America hasn’t been accurate for us, and it’s made it hard to rely on the results.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This has been helping us reduce pay inequality within our company, especially with employees located across the US.

**Official Response from Natalie Persico:**

> Hi Meegan, we're so glad to hear that OpenComp has been able to help with your ranges and to reduce pay inequity within your company! While it is difficult to get accurate pay data in many Latin American countries, we're always happy to discuss best practices to get you as much information as possible.

  ### 6. User-Friendly Benchmarking with Excellent Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erin T. | Catering Director and Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, Food & Beverages, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2025

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

I find OpenComp to be user-friendly and intuitive, which makes it easy for me to navigate and perform benchmarking analyses. The ability to pull data in an executive summary format is a feature I particularly appreciate as it streamlines my workflow and enables efficient reporting. Moreover, my experience with the OpenComp team has been excellent; they are great to work with, and I have encountered no major obstacles while using the tool. As someone relatively new to compensation analysis work, I am impressed with how simple the initial setup was, and I haven't faced significant issues, reinforcing my positive sentiment towards the service.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

I wish I could benchmark all my active positions based on job title. Since we benchmark based on the US country average, I don't need to do everyone individually.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use OpenComp for benchmarking analysis, particularly for market data and total compensation. It's user-friendly, intuitive, and presents data in an executive summary format, streamlining my compensation analysis tasks.

**Official Response from Natalie Persico:**

> Thank you for your positive feedback! We're glad to hear that OpenComp has been user-friendly and efficient for your benchmarking analyses. We are actively working on a solution to your feedback about benchmarking all active positions based on job title, and we will share the product release notes when available within the next couple of weeks.

  ### 7. Finally... a global solution at your fingertips

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jorunn C. | Global SVP People and Culture, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2025

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

As an HR executive overseeing compensation across multiple organization in multiple countries with 20+ years experience- I’ve experienced firsthand the challenges of keeping pay practices aligned, current, and equitable. OpenComp has been a game-changer, especially when you start to cross geos.

It truly serves as a one-stop shop to align global compensation across the globe, giving leaders, managers, and HR teams a single source of truth for pay decisions. The platform eliminates the constant back-and-forth and guesswork that comes with outdated or inconsistent data.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

Opencomp is currently working on the few remaining geos that have more complex compensation structures. Even when we ran into this one snag, the team was more than willing and able to help us jump in on a solution for more complex variable pay and special allowance situations.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the most immediate benefits of OpenComp was no more managing messy and outdated spreadsheets. Instead, OpenComp provides real-time, accurate, and structured compensation data in an intuitive interface. This not only improves decision-making but also saves countless hours previously spent reconciling disparate files. An added bonus, it can catch pay discrepancies before you do, saving you both time and a legal headache.

Beyond functionality, OpenComp delivers exceptional value—it’s much cheaper than going to the big names in compensation, without compromising quality or depth of insight. Our tool was up and running in a matter of a few weeks, which meant a fast return on investment and minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

A standout feature is its compensation philosophy tools, which provide both HR and Finance with shared visibility and alignment. This makes it easier to remain competitive in today’s market, supporting fairness, transparency, and strategic decision-making.

By centralizing and streamlining compensation management, OpenComp helps ensure fairness, competitiveness, and transparency—critical factors for attracting and retaining top talent in today’s global landscape. For any organization looking to modernize and simplify compensation practices on a global scale, OpenComp is hands-down a smart choice for any size organization.

**Official Response from Natalie Persico:**

> We're glad to hear that OpenComp has been able to streamline your compensation management and provide real-time, accurate data, saving you time and improving decision-making. Thank you for choosing OpenComp for your global compensation management!

  ### 8. An HR Partner's Dream

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan M. | Head of People, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2025

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

I've used a number of different tools over my 15+ years as an HR Partner and Leader in the Tech Space. Constantly battling the over-inflation of titles (and the comp that goes with it), Open Comp has given me the tools to fight tough battles with my Executive-level partners to assure we're both recognizing our talent, without blowing out market-level compensation rates. Specifically, the job-family leveling is concise, actionable, and has actually helped my managers navigate promotion conversations. The tool has been powerful for both day-to-day use (job and comp matching during recruiting) and annual planning (both for budgeting purposes and compensation reviews).

On top of that, the support from the OpenComp team has been incredible. They're always fast and insightful, often hopping on a call to discuss any challenges within 24 hours to make sure we're getting the most out of the product. I can't recommend the team highly enough!

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

While incredibly helpful for 99% of the job matching I've had to do, there are some HIGHLY specialized (namely Compliance) roles in my company that don't yield enough data to really be actionable.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Assuring there is alignment between market compensation rates and our internal practices.

**Official Response from Natalie Persico:**

> We're grateful for your recommendation and are pleased to hear that OpenComp has been powerful in helping you align market compensation rates with your internal practices!

  ### 9. Comprehensive Compensation platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David J. | VP of Human Resources, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2025

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

Ability to analyze comp data for entire organization and create salary ranges. Is a very strategic and user friendly tool that adds greatly to my capability. Great tool for me, especially as an HR leader in a non-profit with limited resources. The support team is also very customer focused and reaches out to me periodically to ensure the platform is working well and that I am achieving my key objectives.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

No downsides really. Perhaps not as much data for the non-profit sector but was able to upload our own survey data as an enhancement to the platform's data.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing me to think strategically about how to help my organization move in the direction of pay transparency and a clearer, better understood overall comp philosophy

**Official Response from Natalie Persico:**

> We're thrilled to hear that you find OpenComp to be a strategic and user-friendly tool that adds greatly to your capability. Our support team is dedicated to ensuring that the platform is working well for you and that you are achieving your key objectives.

We have a robust non-profit dataset and are happy to discuss it further with you any time!

  ### 10. Great tool for a growing startup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda Z. | Director of Human Resources, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2025

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

I'm able to control the benchmarking based on our total funds raised & funding stage in addition to our geographic location by comparing our comp to actual market data (and not a bunch of algorithmically calculated info that's based on the bay area).

Market data is adjusted quarterly, so I feel confident knowing the information is aligned to true conditions, actual current payroll data, and real inputs from companies like mine.

Its a great price-to-value as well for early stage startups!

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

I wish there were more comprehensive jobs to benchmark against - knowing there is some variance in job functions, there should be a more established list for SaaS companies. The team DOES do a great job though of helping when there is a job missing or to confirm/clarify which job to use as a direct benchmark.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Real-time accurate payroll data to companies in my geo location that are the same size / funding round.

**Official Response from Natalie Persico:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with OpenComp! We understand the importance of comprehensive job benchmarking and will continue to work on expanding our database for SaaS companies.

  ### 11. Great platform with real data.

Open comp is a powerful tool for organizations looking to optimize their compensation management process. Its combination of user-friendly design, robust features and insightful analytics made it an excellent choice to my organization. Since implementing OpenComp, we have seen improvements in our compensation strategy. I highly recommend OpenComp to any organization seeking to enhance its approach to compensation management.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

We have been using Open Comp for almost a year, and we are still impressed with everything.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing at the moment.

**Official Response from Natalie Persico:**

> We're thrilled to hear that OpenComp has been a powerful tool for optimizing your organization's compensation management process. Thank you for recommending us!

  ### 12. OpenComp Makes our Benchmarking Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Krista M. | HR Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2025

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

OpenComp helps us stay on top of salary benchmarking trends across multiple states, which is essential for our fully remote organization. Their platform makes it easy to set and maintain clear, competitive salary ranges for each role, ensuring our compensation strategy stays aligned with market standards.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

More job roles would be helpful specific to cloud computing.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Benchmarking, retention and job leveling.

**Official Response from Natalie Persico:**

> We're pleased to hear that OpenComp is helping you with benchmarking, retention, and job leveling. Your feedback about the need for more job roles specific to cloud computing is valuable, and we will certainly consider this as we continue to enhance our platform to better meet the needs of our users. If you ever have questions about specific roles, please don't hesitate to reach out to your customer success team, as we can often assist in finding data related to niche positions.

  ### 13. A game-changer for comp management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maggie H. | Recruiter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2025

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

Easy to use

HRIS integration

Robust knowledge base with helpful resources

Responsive and knowledgeable comp consultants

Custom pay and geo strategy

Visual offer tool

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

There's not much to say here; some roles haven't been created yet, but you can send job descriptions to their team for feedback, and they will provide recommendations. Data for some international locations is also limited, but they are consistently adding roles, market data, and functionality, so I expect this will improve over time.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pay equity and benchmarking: we can confidently benchmark salaries and align pay with market standards.

Compensation strategy: we can customize our approach as a global company with multiple employee locations.

Offer approval workflow: OpenComp's offer tool enables us to streamline the approval process and track the status of our offers.

**Official Response from Natalie Persico:**

> We're delighted to hear that OpenComp has been beneficial for your company's compensation management. It's fantastic to know that you appreciate the ease of use, robust resources, and custom pay strategies. As you noted, we're committed to continuing to enhance our market data and product features, which you can learn more about in our customer newsletters!

  ### 14. Perfect for a growing startup

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bridget M. | Director of People Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2024

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

It's very easy to start using OpenComp right away. I started using their free version when my company was <25 people. As we grew, I liked the platform and so it made sense to move to the paid version, which I found very competitively priced. Through it all, their team has been available to support my continuous learning and supported me in configuring it as to meet my goals.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

They lack data for some very industry-specific roles. Their data seems to be pretty great for the average SaaS tech startup, SMB, or enterprise, but they lack market data for certain types of positions in gaming or more creative industries.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Small businesses often end up with messy compensation that needs to be fixed later because they did not spend time early on building a compensation strategy and investing in tools that will provide market data to inform decisions on salary ranges, bonuses, and equity. Especially within the tech industry where small companies are competing with each other, as well as larger enterprise companies for talent, it's extremely beneficial to be able to understand how competitive your company's salary ranges are compared various labor markets you compete with. The market data provided by OpenComp has helped me feel more confident negotiating externally (when hiring) and internally (proposing promotion increases).

  ### 15. Great tool, easy to use, great UI, support and sales were great.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cailean B. | HR, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2024

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

I use OpenComp every day.

The UI is very easy to use. Data is easy to pull and organize. We've used several different comp tools during my time here and this is by far the easiest to use. It also links seamlessly to our HRIS system to organize and benchmark current employees. We have already renewed and don't plan on changing anytime soon.

Support is very good as well. They are quick to respond with answers to my questions.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

It would be great if you could merge two positions, however, I can do this manually on my end. It's not a huge deal, but other tools have done this.

Overall, not too much I dislike. Some positions don't exist yet, but they allow you to share feedback and things get added as they continue to grow.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

quick and easy access to accurate salary data. Not just base comp, but also total package including equity.

  ### 16. Love OpenComp

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vivek P. | Head of Talent & Executive Recruiter, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2024

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

With the sea of comp tools out there, OpenComp strives to be the best. I've used them both at my last company + current company and as a Founder, I constantly find myself needing the best comp tools to ensure our Teams are taken care of. OpenComp does an excellent job making a UI and intuitive software that is easy to use.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

The comp field is competitive, and constatly requires new data to be imported to be accurate. I'd love if OpenComp updated their job families on a more regular basis.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OpenComp gives my clients the confidence that we are paying people competetively and fairly.

  ### 17. Amanda

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

Open Comp's UI is super user-friendly. Pulling Data is extremely easy and you have the ability to run multiple scenarios at once. Open Comp's real time data is an awesome way to stay competitive in the market.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

I have found a bug in the comp data in which ligher levels had lower pay, however, in speaking with the support team, we were able to get this fixed quickly.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OpenComp provides me with the data I need to help our company stay compeitive in the hiring market as well as retain top talent.

  ### 18. Comprehensive, Easy to Use, and Accurate Program

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The price is right for a growing start up
Great starting point for building a compensation strategy

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

Very little I dislike about this product. Maybe more comp data.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping us have a more data driven strategy to our compensation stuctures

**Official Response from Natalie Persico:**

  ### 20. Best (and growing!) Compensation Tool on the Market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jess F. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2023

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

OpenComp has transformed our compensation strategy and administration. Its user-friendly interface, wide range of features, and amazing customer support + CSMs make it one of our most valued HR + Finance systems. We're super excited to see how the tool continues to evolve in the future and we're confident that it will continue to meet our strategic and operational needs.

It's been a game-changer for us, and we couldn't have evolved our compensation strategy OR provided seamless pay transparency and equity without our parnership with OpenComp. The DEI tool is a must-have for any compensation team.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

Their product team is very open to feedback on the user experience as well as any feature/enhancement recommendations - this is a huge plus for us! They've been super receptive to our feedback so honestly the only current product downsides are 1.) OpenComp does not sync with our HRIS which means no realtime updates, and 2.) no ability to terminate employee in the system and then essentially create a backfill that preserves the leveling. Would be awesome to create a position ID of sorts that assigns level to roles.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple salary benchmarking, customized compensation structures, and comp cycle management. It's very, very easy to intuit pay disparities and range penetration or compa ratio. The DEI analysis gives us an opportunity for data-driven pay equity.

  ### 21. One Source of Truth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy B. | Human Resources Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2024

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

The platform allows me to maintain employee benchmarks for all employees with our updated information thanks to the connection with our HRIS. No manual entry! And my comp benchmarks are update whenever I need them. Rather than pour through data in a ton of other resources, I use OpenComp as my source of truth.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

So far I haven't found any dislikes about the platform.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I would have to compile salary data from multiple sources before. Now, I don't have too.

  ### 22. Excellent Comp Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allie M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2023

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

OpenComp is very user friendly and implementation was top notch. Very thorough and customizable. I found you get more bang for your buck, meaning more features for the same cost as competitors. Their DEI/pay equity analysis is also very helpful and an important tool.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

We are new customers and haven't found any dislikes thus far. It is a very comprehensive tool.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were looking for a tool that was easy to navigate and would allow other managers or leaders access to their employees as well. We needed to build out our pay ranges, which OpenComp is solving for. We also wanted to use a tool for merit cycles, which we'll do in a few months time through OpenComp, moving away from manual work and spreadsheets.

  ### 23. Great product and continuing to develop

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2023

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

The data that OpenComp contains is incredibly valuable for us to build our comp philosophy and perform appropriate benchmarking for all of our roles. There is a great user interface that facilitates our use case and makes it easy to get what we need out of it.

As a scaling company, I also appreciate their willingness to both engage with customers and solicit feedback, but then also act on said feedback. I don't expect that what I say will automatically translate into features, but I have already seen instances where I have provided information and that has translated first into roadmap items for future development and then ultimately into actual features.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

There have been several times where I have struggled to use some of the ongoing Human Capital Management aspects of the platform. While the data integrity is high and offers great value, running comp cycles through the platform is more cumbersome than it should be (and as a relatively new feature for them, they're working on it). There are some minor things that speak to them wanting to paint a broad brush with their approach and appease most use cases, but not allowing flexibility for individualization and customization - for example, the default for most things is the 50th percentile, but since we use different percentiles, we find that we have to view multiple screens to get what we want.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is solving my compensation management and benchmarking challenges. As I mentioned, it's been great from a data management and lookup perspective and I think it's been critical for our alignment on compensation as an organization.

  ### 24. Huge time saver

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael S. | Head of People, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2024

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

Open comp allowed me to get very sofisticated very quickly with compensation at our startup. Their platform is clean and intuitive. The customer support team was great and the onboarding was smooth.l

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

There are some nuanced gaps around what type of business model you have that I think change comp research but all in all it's solid.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marketing reasearch and paybands were the biggest goals we focused on

  ### 25. Flexible,Robust, and Efficient :- ERP System Simplifying Operations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2023

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

Tailoring the system to fit our specific business processes seamlessly.
Detailed and customisable reports aid in strategic decision-making.
Consistent performance and uptime ensure uninterrupted operations.
Smooth integration with various tools and platforms we use within our organisation.
Granular control over user permissions ensures data security and privacy.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

At times, extensive customisation requires deep technical expertise or coding skills.
The initial onboarding process might be overwhelming for some users.
Improved mobile functionality would benefit users needing on-the -go access.
Occasionally, upgrades cause temporary disruptions that impact productivity.
More options to personalise the interface coul enhance user experience.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OpenComp centralises and integrates multiple facets of our business, from finance to HR,inventory, and customer management.
This consolidation streamlines our operations, reducing redundancies and inefficiencies.

  ### 26. Simple, Powerful, Gamechanger.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samantha K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2023

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

I love the easy to digest visuals on each page and the ease of use of the whole system. I can get the data I need and feel confident about it.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

It can be difficult to match some of our positions to the benchmarked roles due to our specialized industry.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OpenComp solved the issue of having data we were confident in, at the any time we need it. We needed to build a compensation strategy and OpenComp made it possible.

  ### 27. Modern Tool for Compensation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2023

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

Opencomp helped me simplify our compensation practices by having one user friendly site to access and manage compensation. It gives a full picture of where we are as an organization, helped create our comp philosophy and helps us identify salary ranges quickly when recruiting across multiple states and in Canada. Opencomp has saved me so much time doing manual research and offers up to date market data. It's reporting is so simple and the visual tools are very user friendly for presenting and sharing with execs and managers.

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

One downside for us is that the equity tool in Opencomp is really designed to illustrate for privately held companies. We are not a privately held company so the data doesn't work well for our reporting.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Open comp has helped us create solid ranges and levels and gives me a quick and easy tool to post ranges on job descriptions across the US. It offers a quick reference when promoting employees and running merit cycles. It keeps all of the data in one place.

  ### 28. The product offering for start-ups is a near one stop shop for Compensation Planning and Market Data

Nothing. They are building out their suite of tools and what's on their roadmap is quite promising for anyone that is responsible for all aspects of compensation.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Real-time industry market data for hiring, promotions and merit cycles. The quick view by department helps us make strategic and tactical decisions about compensation.

  ### 29. Great Resource for Ensuring Equity

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2023

**What do you like best about OpenComp?**

Love how easy it is to use and understand - the compulator is an unbeatable tool that I haven't seen anywhere else. It is easy to customize your specific business scenario as well. And the integrations with various HRIS makes my job easier!

**What do you dislike about OpenComp?**

I think the lack of data source comparatively to other platforms could be the biggest detractor, other than that I can't think of anything.

**What problems is OpenComp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ensuring equitability with our compensation philosophy is incredibly important - having an accurate, accessible, and easy to use tool to help us get there is so critical.

Determining the best salary range for diverse locations and positions
