I appreciate the ease of adding/uploading assets and I find the user-friendly interface makes it easy to quickly locate what I'm looking for. I work for a large company with marketing departments all over the globe that need to share high quality digital assets/accurate information in a quick, efficient manner and OpenAsset makes that possible. The ability to drag-and-drop between OpenAsset and InDesign with the plug-in has also been a game-changer! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Searching can be time-consuming. Although the search function is useful, sometimes accessing specific assets requires precise tagging; and, if the tagging/ categorizing wasn't completed correctly or at all by the uploader, it quickly becomes much less helpful. I LOVE that you can export project pages so quickly. I also really like that you can utilize it for storage for project photos, icons, stock photos, etc, and everyone our team has access to them. In addition, the AI feature for searching is amazing. I'm excited to lean more into openasset for proposal needs. Lastly, its very user-friendly. We use openasset on the daily.
Customer support has been amazing. They are always there to answer questions, help or fix anything that goes wrong. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So far I haven't run into any issues. It's just taking awhile for things to get up and running, mostly because we had a complicated template. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is easy to use and makes my work more efficient. I use OpenAsset frequently for most of my projects.
It is easy to search for and find photos.
It is easy to see a photo's access level and if it has restricted use.
It is easy to see the copyright holder and to add appropriate crediting as required.
The InDesign plugin makes it so easy to drag and drop photos into proposal/marketing material templates – without having to download or save the files elsewhere.
It helps me have access to photos/files that are outside of the teams I work directly with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do find that for files that are not images – sometimes they fail to download if they are not set up properly when uploaded. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have worked in AEC marketing for nearly 15 years. Until about four months ago, I did so without a DAM tool. I was always so jealous of my peers at other firms who had OpenAsset, and when we decided to solicit DAM providers, I knew I wanted to be involved. Throughout the selection process, OpenAsset made their understanding of our unique industry very clear. They answered questions so well and gave us relevant examples. Additionally, they provided a number of references for similar firms that we were able to speak with.
The implementation team was great, and made the process as easy as it could be. While there was a lot of work on our end, they made navigating the process feel achievable and kept us on track. They were, and continue to be, very accessible and ready to find solutions.
Now that our implementation is complete, OpenAsset's customer support continues to be great. They are truly passionate about their product and continuing to make it better. While it's a great product, it's really the people behind it that make it sing.
I use OpenAsset almost constantly now, and my efficiency is so much better. I'm not struggling to find photos, and it's so customizable for each user with albums, rankings, and more. It's also made sharing images with other stakeholders so much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish OpenAsset had more AI capabilities, but I know they're working on that. Also, it would be nice to have a bit more of a true solution for video that isn't as costly, as we continue to have more video assets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the project grouping feature. It's an easy and efficient way to categorize and hold similar assets together all under one umbrella. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish there was a better way to post duplicate assets. For example, if a certain project has an asset that is also relevant for another project, it should be able to live under both and show up under both. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
OpenAsset has been very effective for asset management. I am now able to sort through our projects efficiently, using filters to rapidly find relevant experience. My new favorite feature is the AI image search assist. I can describe a specific lifestyle image I know we have in our assets and it always finds it. Having OpenAsset has been a great time saver! Not a dislike, and I don't know if it is possible, but it would be neat to have numerical value sliders to filter projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I use OpenAsset daily and couldn't imagine quickly pulling together quals, presentations and brochures without it! A quick search (either by project or key word) makes finding images painless and there's no easier way to share assets quickly with others by using OA's portal feature. OA seemlessly integrates with InDesign, Deltek, and Knowledge Architecture's Synthesis platform (our intranet) which is key for our design firm. Customer support has also been great when needed. Like many programs, you get out what you put in. Taking the time to tag images upon upload can be time consuming, but definitely pays off down the road. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ease that Open Asset brings to my day-to-day saves me so much time, energy, and sanity-- three precious resources. It is so incredible and I feel so lucky to be on a team that supports and appreciates this spectacular product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I truly cannot think of a downside of OA. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The variety of categorization/classification options available. The ability to create Project specific collections is very useful. We transitioned from Cumulus to Open Asset years ago and never looked back. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The initial setup/migration can be a bit daunting, and certainly requires planning and a fair bit of work. BUT, Open Asset support during implementation is fantastic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love that there is a product that has the AEC marketer in mind. OpenAsset gets our sales process and understands how we approach our pursuits with regards to content, images, and the software used- which is very different from B2C and different from most B2B sales. Love the integration with Adobe Creative Suite and Unanet. Also appreciate the ability to create heat maps and the ways to customize the taxonomy of our assets and tags. This is the only DAM that is tailored to AEC. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only challenge is the onboarding process and migrating all of the assets. It takes time and its important not to rush the process and have a dedicated person or team to help. This is an issue with any DAM - its important to take time in the beginning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
