What do you like best about Open Studio for Data Integration?

This is open platform tool for many ETL users to try to experience. It is simple to use whether you are in ETL line of field for the first time or have used it before. It is similar to Informatica, but much less complex than it. Since it is an open platform tool, it is also less expensive than other ETL tools. Another good feature is that you don't have to open separate tools for designing your map, workflow, and monitoring, as you do in Informatica. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Open Studio for Data Integration?

There is really not much you can dislike about it, except that there is still more features to be added to it, before it can be more similar to Informatica or other ETL tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Open Studio for Data Integration:

I recommend getting this tool just because it is less complex and it is cheaper than other tools. If you take time to understand how to use the tool, you will simply love it. Also, you don't have to worry about any ODBC connections for each job / map you create. All you have to do is establish the ODBC connections once, and there are components for the DB you are using to open or close the connections you made. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Open Studio for Data Integration solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are slowly using Talend with Big Data and advancing further in the same operation. We are able to organize data much better with Talend, in that sense that it is cheaper and becoming more popular. We can better extract information from other databases, with simple components within the Tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Make sure that you have a person on staff that knows this tool well, it works well most of the time but when you hit an edge case you really need to know how to dig into this tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Git integration is a bit slow.Sometimes, it is difficult to connect to databases.
