We have a lot of paid software for live streaming, video editing, video recording, but OBS is the best among all of them. As It is fully loaded with many features, is it free as well. We regularly get updates from OBS to use the best version.
We can integrate with many other software for live streaming, such as Facebook, YouTube, etc. And all this can be done by just entering the key that we get from our other streaming platforms. Here in OBS, apart from Live streaming, we can also edit the video and the audio too.
It has a large community, so we get help immediately from its community forum. Also, there are lots of tutorials available on the internet to learn. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While live streaming in any app like YouTube or Facebook, the video is lagging when using in low configuration PCs. I think this should be improved so that everybody can use OBS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Open Broadcaster Software is the best tool which I'm using from streaming video and recording video in one software and that is free as its open-source anyone can use this great tool without much knowledge about the tool but we can use the setup in 15min. and can start streaming very easily. Personally, I have not found any downsides in this tool as this is free of cost we don't have to pay anything and we are getting everything for free as this open-source great product loves it thanks to the Open-source community for creating and contributing to this great product. Like most that it is free and the video file is small. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is powerful and has a lot of settings. But you should look for a few manuals to set up it for your needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. The best thing is that we can capture video/audio in best quality and allow to mix as required
2. Easy to use and configure
3.Studio mode is very attractive as it allows to see the video mix before streaming it live Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. If someone is not aware of all the function then it would be less effective for them to create any video Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's hard to sum up all that is good about OBS (Open Broadcast Software) - there are other (paid) solutions that might look a little fancier or are a little more streamlined. However, if what you need is a good, workable solution to get broadcasting, OBS is the place to start. And for many of us, it's a fine place to stay - very little reason to "upgrade" to a paid broadcasting solution. What I use OBS most for is integrating with Facebook "go-live" function. Easily enter stream ket and go live in a few clicks. Audio meter right there, middle of the screen to make sure levels are good. I've run on quite a few computers, and it will run on modest equipment. I've even had good luck teaching it to other, non-technical people with a high success rate. The built-in recorder is also helpful for making backups of streamed events. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's hard to complain about Open Source (free) software. Yet, if I had to find something, the included font size is a little small, especially in the menus. As eyes are getting older, sometimes I wish they included an option for a larger font size. There are a few places where windows could be a bit more refined (like rounded corners, etc). But the esthetics aren't bad. There is a plug in to control PTZ cameras but it would be nice if it was natively a part of the program (wishes). Still, it's hard to fault open source software like this that works so well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One of the main parts of my job is to teach my coworkers how to properly utilize various software applications, such as Microsoft Office, Netsuite, etc. The BEST thing about OBS is that is extremely easy to install and set up, which can be the most troublesome part for many I.T. professionals. The software is free is also a tremendous bonus as many companies do not have the resources or inclination to purchase screen capture software. The software allows me to capture just audio, video, audio and video, gaming, displays, texts, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There has not been anything that I dislike with the software. Since I only use it for recording and not streaming, I am sure there are many more product features that I cannot speak about. I would have to say that the only issue that I had was when I first set it up and that was with me not knowing what I wanted to capture, since the display capture provides so many options for the user. I like the flexibility of being able to use my own overlays, my own commands, scripts, and plugins to truly make my streams my own. OBS is truly an incredible and invaluable software for streamers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It isn't so much a dislike as it is a... I guess a mistake on my part. I didn't know that the default stream settings were set to where my output would be less than favorable. So, knowing that now, my streams have reached the quality I wanted from the beginning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This tool is super cool I mean it is first of all free of cost and you can record your video as well as edit your video perfectly by using this software. So for me editing and recording both are good by using this software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Personally, I did not feel any drawback of this toll and yes it is free of cost because nowadays there are so many software's which is very costly so according to me only 1 limitation of this software is sometimes it takes too much time for processing rest all are good. First things first - it's free!!! Since it's open-source software - it's free. I was surprised to hear that some other paid softwares are built on top of this open-source version - just adding a skin, adding some UI elements, etc. When it comes to features you get everything you need from a screen & video capture tool. The video capture with slides, webcam & audio is awesome - very easy to use & most used by me. You can record your group video chat. You can stream live as well as upload to your youtube channel with just one click. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is a learning curve to using this tool. Sometimes if it's idle for a longer period of time it will hang/freeze. If the files are big then it will take a lot of time to process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The cost is very helpful in addition to the fact it is packed with features. Being able to set up a professional-level live stream at this price is great and it is fairly easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
the UI is a bit clunky and some features are buried deep within the application. With a simple interface upgrade and maybe some layout changes this would be unstoppable compared to competitors. The only competitor that I frequently use is Streamlabs which is based off of OBS and the open source code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
