## Opal Reviews
 ### 1. Concept, Design and Showcase all in one place

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Catrina G. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

The best thing I enjoy about Opal is the ability to showcase websites and animated content all in one place and the team all being in one place, organized the way we need to be in sync with the business.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Initially I had high expectations for Opal and although it has gotten easier to navigate, my biggest concern was being able to learn the system and utilize it the way it was intented, which is still a work in progress.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem we solve now is being able to align in a more visual way before work on any given campaign begins. Its useful for our team to coordinate early on in the project in a way that aligns the greate business needs.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> We're delighted to hear that Opal's ability to showcase websites and animated content all in one place, while keeping your team organized and in sync, has been a highlight for you. We understand that learning and utilizing new systems can present challenges, and we appreciate your patience as you continue to get acclimated to Opal. Thank you for taking the time to write a review!

 ### 2. Social Media Coordinator's Perspective

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I like that Opal mocks up posts in the same interface that each social platform uses.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Opal has a lot of glitches, such as not saving notes, reloading, taking long to upload files, etc.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to keep track of posts in the past and future planning.

 ### 3. Gets the job done, but can be buggy

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kate M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Opal allows the various teams I work with (a brand team, my client team, and myself) to engage pretty seamlessly. I can be confident that all relevant team members have been able to review.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

The biggest downside is how buggy it can be. There are times when it isn't possible to upload any content, which obviously has implications on timelines. Other times, certain channels (Snapchat more frequently) are unable to upload, or certain features aren't available for hours on end. This can set back schedules and timelines.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal allows several teams—none of whom share a central Sharepoint/Drive—to access and collaborate, ultimately allowing us to get assets posted and live. Without Opal, we would be bouncing between various platforms to get assets approved and posted.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Firstly, we apologize for any inconvenience you've experienced due to the occasional bugs in Opal. I have made a note of this for our product team. We're thrilled to hear that Opal has enabled seamless engagement and collaboration among various teams, including the brand team, your client team, and yourself. Ensuring that all relevant team members can review and contribute is a fundamental aspect of Opal's functionality, and we're glad to see it meeting your needs. Thank you for writing a review and for using Opal.

 ### 4. Opal - Great for social management and clear communication across large brands and corporations

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Opal is incredibly user-friendly. It's an easy platform to navigate, manage, and provides seamless communication across one of our global clients!

The most beneficial feature for our use-case is the Opal Boards. Allows us to efficiently streamline and execute a fully global social strategy from the briefing to go live stages.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

At first the opal tagging was a bit hard to fully understand. However now that we know the purpose and best use cases for tagging, it makes it easier to identify and organize content.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal is helping our agency successfully manage and run a fully global social campaign for our client. With the creation and posting of global content that is set to go live across multiple markets and various social platforms, we value that opal allows for seamless communication so all members of our brand's large corporation are fully in the loop with our strategy each quarter.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Glad to know Opal has been a valuable tool for your agency in managing and executing global social campaigns. Managing content for a global brand is one of the specialized uses of Opal. Thank you for using Opal – and for the review!

 ### 5. Opal is a great way to organize your social strategy.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesse L. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

The calendar is very helpful in having a clear overview of your scheduled posts. In a company where there are many teams uploading content, it's nice to see everything across the company that is scheduled to release.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

The help search and online resources to answer a question leaves much to be desired. Additionally, it can be difficult to remember some functionality (such as send to review) without frequent use.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal is a clear way to upload the content I create, receive approval on the work, and ensure it turns out exactly as planned. I love that it is a central hub for multiple teams and collaboration is so immediate.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Great to know that Opal's calendar feature has been a valuable asset for you, providing a clear overview of scheduled posts and content across various teams. Streamlining communication and collaboration is at the heart of our platform's purpose. We understand the importance of easily accessible help resources – and we’re sorry to hear that you’ve had difficulty with our help resources. Thank you for taking the time to write a review and thank you for using Opal.

 ### 6. Love Opal!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gillian W. | Social Media Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I am able to see what other channels have planned for certain dates. It makes creating a unified brand story so much easier! Plus, I can brief and upload content in one place.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Sometimes Opal bugs out. If I move content around sometimes all of the moments will disappear (which often gives me a heart attack lol). I have to refresh my browser for everything to appear again.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal is allowing me to do my job almost all in one place. Rather that using 8 google docs to get one week of social content out, I can brief content, brief copy, and go through approvals all in Opal!

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Thank you for this stellar review, and thank you for being a customer! I will be sure to pass your feedback along to the team. Hearing that Opal is helping you collaborate better for managing and planning content is tremendous – that is such a crucial part of what Opal was built to do.

 ### 7. User Friendly Platform

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miriam M. | Director of Events & Marketing, Europe, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Very useful to see overall work and to find projects, and campaigns. It helps us to be organized and know what's coming and who is responsible.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

I would love for it to be integrated with our email marketing platform and social media so we could pull performance reports from this platform and not manually input.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With the marketing calendar we can glance what is happening within the organization and we can group projects which we find really helpful. The tagging helps us to provide reports internally and to our partners and keep everything organized.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> It’s great to know that Opal has provided a clear overview of work, projects, and campaigns, along with helping your team stay organized and informed. We're thrilled to hear that Opal's marketing calendar, project grouping, and tagging features are effectively addressing your needs. Opal integrates with a wide range of marketing platforms. Please reach out to your CSM to discuss integration possibilities to pull performance reports. Thank you for the review and for using Opal!

 ### 8. Organized way to review marketing briefs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Opal is an excellent cross-functional communication tool for understanding historical and future marketing campaigns/assets. I enjoy the "visual" aspect of being able to see all the imagery of the campaigns lined up next to one another.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

I would like to be able to see TY campaigns lined up against LY campaigns instead of having to click back to the date range from the previous year.
I would also like to be able to see the revenue & ROAS that each campaign generated to understand the history and utilize it for future planning.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal is solving the problem of organizing all of our historical and future campaigns in a portal/system vs. having to manually store assets in Google docs or excel.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Thank you for your tremendous review – I’ll be certain to share your thoughts with the team! Being able to see the imagery of your content in the context of the campaigns is one of the things that really sets Opal apart. In addition, it’s great to know that it is a source of truth for your content – as opposed to storing assets in excel or Google docs.

 ### 9. The BEST tool for Social Media teams!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Judah H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Opal's software is world class. From the setup process to content delivery, not only is Opal visually pleasing, but also an incredible tool for organizing our social department. The templatized board features allows our social team to understand their daily/weekly assignments and the calendar view is better than any competitor in the space.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

No specific dislikes for Opal. Most everything works great!

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal solves our content management problem and allows us to organize social media content easily and effectively through the calendar and board features.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Thank you for your fantastic review – I’ll make sure to share this with the team! We're thrilled to know that Opal's software has met your expectations and that you appreciate its setup process, visual appeal, and organizational capabilities. It's fantastic to hear that the templatized board features and calendar view are providing value to your social team by enhancing assignment understanding and overall organization.

 ### 10. Communications and Social Media

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abbie B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

We use Opal to send social media calendars and assets to our customers. I love the feature what they are able to download anything straight from the link and the link automatically updates and you don't need to make a new one. This works great for us and is our most used feature.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Set up was really hard - it took almost 2 months to get everything set up and ready to use the site. The required labels were really confusing. I think the required items should be very minimal.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were looking for a way to send our social media calendars to customers (over 800 people). Opal allows us to send the link with all the assets and our customers and they are able to download right away to use on their sites. Helps us stream line our promos and brand.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> I’m sorry to hear that implementation felt difficult – I’ll certainly pass your feedback about required items to the Product team. It’s great that you’re using the platform to stay connected with your customers. Managing social media content is one of the key benefits of using Opal. Thank you for being a customer, and thank you for writing a review!

 ### 11. Great for organizing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Opal has been great for organizing social media campaigns and scheduling content posts. It's very easy to schedule posts as well and make sure there is a clear understanding of who owns what tasks.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

The functionality could be a little more user friendly. There almost seems to be too much optionality. I would recommend simplifying some of the options on the content side or allow for a simple/advanced mode.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal is solving the problem of content consistency. It allows us to plan for posts in a timely fashion and ensure everything is submitted out on time. As a result, our social media channels have seen an increase in engagement.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> It’s great to hear that you’ve been able to boost engagement on your social media by scheduling in Opal! Keeping everyone organized and accountable is a crucial part of how Opal helps with workflow. Thank you for taking the time to write a review, and thank you for using Opal!

 ### 12. Very Adaptable!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I like that depending on the project or role, one can keep Opal simple, or take advantage of the dynamic functionality to make it work best. For as much as it does, its pretty intuitive and straight forward.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

That you can't upload .pdf files as creative. PDFs is what I work with 99% of the time. Having to create additional files in a .jpg or .png file just to upload to Opal so that the creative shows up feels cumbersome.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For what I do, none. Opal was introduced into our organization to help our Integrated Marketing team keep track our Marketing department's creative and projects.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> While Opal may not be solving immediate challenges for you personally, we're glad to know that it's fulfilling a role within your organization by helping your Integrated Marketing team track creative and projects. Streamlining project management and creative collaboration are key goals of Opal, and we're excited to be contributing to your team's efforts in this area. Thank you for writing a review!

 ### 13. Convenient content management system for large cross-functional teams

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I appreciate the ease of many users acessing the content at any given time, the way the content is displayed, and the no-frills layout. The drop-down menus are easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

I dislike after uploading content when the page with all of the previous uploads shows up for you to confirm the asset you just uploaded, especially given that occassionally the same asset needs to be uploaded several times for different needs and platforms.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal has created a unified location for creative content creators and social media managers to work together to get the end content out the door with minimal file handoff concerns.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Providing a seamless and user-friendly experience is a priority for us, and we're thrilled that Opal is providing that for you. Thank you for sharing your feedback about your experience with Opal.

 ### 14. Great social review tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Opal is great tool for reviewing social media content created by our design team, in particual for leadership. The calendar function is also a great way to plan our content.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

It is a shame that once approved you can not post to the social media platforms firectly from Opal. Requiring multiple tools for our social workflow is in efficient.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal is solving the review process for our leadership team. Allowing them to approve content without acually entering to tool and moving on is a great benifit to us. The calendar is also great for planning our content in a collaborative fashion.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> We're thrilled to hear that Opal has proven to be a valuable tool for your team, particularly in the review of social media content and content planning. Enabling efficient content review, especially for leadership, is a key goal for us. We're glad to know that our calendar function is aiding your content planning efforts as well. ### 15. Opal product review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Calendar view. Flexibility with tagging and workflow

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Lack of depth in flexibility with tagging.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Calendar view of efforts to avoid duplication and enable visibility

 ### 16. A great app, but an even greater team.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin D. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Constant innovation without the platform and obsession over the customer experience. With additions like boards, the upcoming AI text feature, etc.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Many small bugs that create bottlenecks in workflow on platform.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our go-to for asset creation and approval. Presentation feature is huge for our large team to approve social posts (except video is still slow in pres mode).

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Right off the bat, we apologize for any inconvenience you've encountered due to small bugs affecting your workflow. We're thrilled to hear that you appreciate Opal's commitment to constant innovation and customer experience! Our goal is to provide you with cutting-edge features and tools to enhance your workflow. ### 17. I like using Opal but could be improved and explained better to users to increase efficiency.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I like Opal's calendar view and how it is easy to see all content in that. I also like that Opal has a chat and stores assets in one place.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

I don't like that Opal doesn't have a YouTube Shorts template, or that is sends an email about every chat. I also don't like how repetative it is sometimes in creating posts. I also think there should be a fill-in section for things such as titles, descriptions, audio names, first comment, etc.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal helps us organize our calendar and see all posts before they are released.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your experience with Opal. Offering an intuitive way to visualize content, communicate within your team, and manage assets are key goals for us, and we're thrilled that these aspects are contributing positively to your experience. Your input about the repetitiveness in creating posts and the suggestion for a fill-in section for various content elements is noted.

 ### 18. Great for Visibility - Difficult for Project Management

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

The calendar tools as well as the transparency and visibility for our teams has been great. You can easily see what is coming down the pipeline and it's helped a lot in long term planning.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

As we've begun to integrate approvals and comments/feedback, I have found that it's not very user friendly in this way. Comments and approval status are very small and hard to read / navigate to on the site.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transparency within our marketing channels and teams. It's benefiting me by having one place to share information and updates regarding our upcoming campaign work.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Fantastic to see that you’ve found the calendar has enhanced transparency of your marketing organization. I will make a note of your UI suggestions on the comments and feedback – thank you for sharing. We are currently deploying new features meant to provide additional value when managing projects in Opal. Please reach out to your CSM to learn more!

 ### 19. Simple, efficient content platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I love how intuitive and streamlined the platform is, allowing us to develop, stage, approve/revise, and collaborate in one place with ease. They're highly receptive to feedback and are always looking for ways to improve the experience.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

As with most other platforms, there are certain limitations that require workarounds, but the reps are great about taking in feedback and implementing updates.

**Recommendations to others considering Opal:**

Ensure you get a full walk through of its features/capabilities to help you and your team work smarter.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing visibility into our upcoming initiatives to individuals outside of our core marketing team.

**Official Response from Donna Schultz:**

> Thanks for your time and feedback! As the head of Customer Success, I want to first say how much I appreciate your kind words about our customer service. I’ll pass your compliments along to Product, as well, regarding the intuitive UI and responsiveness to user feedback.

So glad to hear you’re boosting visibility and collaboration with Opal! Thank you for being a customer.

 ### 20. A Visual & Simple Solution

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

- how visual the tool is, even when you zoom in and out at different levels, its very easy to visualize the entire social timeline.
- Like that there are different layers for all the different stakeholders, so the can layer on top of one another and show you the full picture
- Training is also very thorough

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

- a bit hard to navigate at times, especially when you're new. There are so many buttons/icons and they are not all intuitive, especially when going through the review process.
- limited to organic and not paid content, so not telling the full picture

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us on the license brand side find opportune times to post organic content amongst the main brands content, and also get approvals right there and then.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Making it easy to visualize your social timeline and provide a clear overview of stakeholder contributions are key aspects of Opal's design, and we're delighted that they're meeting your needs. Your feedback about the review process and the number of buttons/icons is noted. Thank you for taking the time to write a review!

 ### 21. Developing coordinated approaches to content

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jim W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Opal has helped us conceptualize the coordinated campaign concept for a nonprofit organization that doesn't traditionally think in those terms about legal content.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

It's a little clunky. Sometimes hard to find what I'm looking for. Icons are not totally intuitive.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us illustrate the abstract concept of integrated marketing and content campaigns.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> We're delighted that Opal has facilitated the development of coordinated campaigns. I’m sorry to hear you’ve experienced struggles with the icons and UI. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your experience with Opal – and thank you for using Opal!

 ### 22. Opal is Great for Large Companies and a Little Overkill for Small Ones

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Opal's support and onboarding team are fantastic and help you in whatever ways you need during setup. The ability to share calendars and presentations with people outside of the users is an invaluable tool that is hard to find in other places and drew us to the platform initially. They have a lot of customization options and are great for cross-departmental work. They also have a nice asset library for different marketing teams to utilize.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Opal is, unfortunately, a little confusing, and there is a learning curve when first starting. Because it is such a powerful tool, it takes time to utilize it best. As a smaller company (5ish people utilizing this tool), it's a bit overkill for us. We signed up to communicate marketing plans to board and co-op members on a large scale. And it can provide this for us, which is great! But we don't really use the rest of the tool.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primarily Opal solves the issue of communicating our marketing plans to our members and board members. Being able to export easily to these groups is a huge help for the company.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Great to hear you had a positive experience with our support and onboarding teams. I will be sure to pass this along to them! Presentations are one of the most popular features of Opal – I’m glad that you enjoy using them as well. Thank you for taking the time to write a review – and for being an Opal customer.

 ### 23. Great services but can be slow and buggy

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I like that it allows me to see all of the content going out and collaborate on posts across platforms and teams. Being able to have a week by week view is useful!

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

The biggest problem with opal is that is can be unreliable and slow. Sometimes it takes way too long to load opal moments and move around the website/app. Also the content library can be so buggy and take dozens of attempts to unload or replace a piece of content before it works/sticks. There is some serious back end work that needs to be done to make that work.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal hosts everything in one place and allows multiple teams to comment and edit across and synced post and calendar. It benefits me to be able to know my whole team is looking at the most up to date piece of content.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> While I’m glad to hear that Opal is delivering powerful collaboration and visibility, I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing technical issues. I encourage you to reach out to the Opal support team: support@workwithopal.com. They would be happy to look into these issues!

 ### 24. Flexible and Strong Platform, But Requires Full Adoption

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam K. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

A simple user flow, with a variety of options, customizations, and connection points. I love that it works across screens and devices.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

This isn't an Opal thing as much as it is where Opal isn't as valuable. If you don't have everyone using it, the value erodes quickly.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

An integrated view of all things Social Media across different teams, team members, and roles being played by team members. From planners, the creators, to publishers, etc., we can all see the same thing.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Your observation about the importance of full adoption for maximizing the value of Opal is spot-on. A collaborative platform's effectiveness often relies on the participation of all team members. We're pleased to hear that Opal is effectively solving the challenge of providing an integrated view of social media activities across different teams and roles. Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for using Opal.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrick Q. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

The most helpful tool in Opal is being able to stage social posts and tag collaborators in the chat to assist in delivery, approval and confirming live.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Navigating very specific functions can be complicated at first. I found Opal support extremely helpful to troubleshoot or assist in the learning process.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal allows our team is easily collaborate across multiple departments and companies. It's a product that's been extremely benifital in eleviating time spent on projects and keeping teams organized.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> First of all, thank you for the stellar review! It's great to see that Opal's features, such as the ability to stage social posts and collaborate through chat, have proven to be highly beneficial for your workflow. ### 26. Reliable asset manager with some UI complaints & a bit of a learning curve

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Being able to see all of the assets available to the brand in one location, across every kind of campaign and upcoming moments by time. It's helpful to be able to deep-link to specific assets.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

The UI is slow, often making it difficult to differentiate between similar assets (ie just changing out a product). The content planning connection with Sprinklr is unreliable, and even with our & Sprinklr's help, this hasn't been resolved in over 6 months. The folder system (moments, etc) is confusing and not intuitive to new users, which means more time spent onboarding them.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to see all brand campaigns in one location - a single source of truth & location for final, finished assets. We do not use the platform for collaboration as often because it can be cumbersome.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Brand is at the heart of the Opal platform – so it’s phenomenal to hear you’re using it to see your brand in one place. Using Opal as a single source of truth is a popular way to make use of it.

I’m sorry to hear about your frustrations with the configured integration in your Opal. I’d love to see if there’s anything we can do – please reach out to me via support@workwithopal.com so we can connect on this. We want your experience in Opal to be seamless and efficient.

Ability to customize features with the Opal team that best fits our business calendar and needs. We have a very complex integrated planning cycle with multiple tools and dependencies, that the Opal team is working on customizing the tool for our business.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Nothing at this time - I anticipate more feedback directly from the key stakeholders/users that we can share.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One source of truth for all campaigns and collaboration on asset delivery.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

 ### 28. Really helpful way to see all of our creative assets and how they would appear on social media

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I like how easy it is to work with the whole team and see all of our social media touchpoints in one place. It was also really easy to update assets as new feedback came in.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Some of the UX was a little clunky. If there's any way to make the product a little more seamless (in terms of finding different assets and returning to existing comps) that would be amazing!

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal helps the whole team see all of our social posts in one place. That way, we can all move forward confidently, knowing that all of our touchpoints match each other and add to the overall campaign.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Thank you for your input about the user experience. We understand the importance of a seamless and intuitive experience, and we appreciate your feedback. We're glad to hear that Opal is effectively solving your challenge of coordinating social posts across different touchpoints. ### 29. helpful for working with external teams and tracking dates and assets

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Each request has it's own moment so you can track communication, assets and timelines.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Chat feature within each moment could be a little more user friend and sometimes I have trouble uploading / accessing all files that are within a moment.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing us to submit briefs in a timely manner to keep projects on track. Allow all assets in one place per request which is helpful from an organiaitonal standpoint.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> The ability to track communication, assets, and timelines within individual moments can certainly aid in keeping projects organized and on track – glad you’re seeing that benefit. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having difficulty with accessing files within a moment. Have you reached out to our support team regarding this issue? Thank you for writing a review and using Opal.

 ### 30. Excellent tool for the editorial calendar

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonello C. | dottore, Apparel & Fashion, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I have been using the Opal platform for 2 years and I really appreciate the work done by the Opal team to keep the platform updated when requests come in. The multiple views and spaces allow my staff to keep different brands separate when necessary, but to have a holistic view of the content that goes out through the channels.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

I would like the presentation and deep dive features to be easier to use. I constantly encounter problems while using them.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal is a vital part of my daily work. So much so that I definitely couldn't do my job without it. I live in the monthly calendar view, which is essential for helping me plan content across all channels month after month.

 ### 31. Lauren Boots Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren B. | Experience Strategy Manager, Social, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

The UX and simple interface, I loved the organization and UX on Opal. It was very clean, easy to understand and helpful with content management.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Minimal capabilties. I did feel a bit constrained on what I could actually do with Opal other than content management and approvals. If it were able to publish to channels, that would help.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Content management and approvals

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Building an organized and user-friendly experience is a core focus for us, and we're delighted that you found it clean, easy to understand, and helpful for content management. ### 32. Visually, a great addition

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsey M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I like that my teams notes are all in one place. It feels like I'm getting the most and current updates.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Some of those updates... some of those notes are apart of UI elements that you cannot zoom or expand. You should be able to expand elements/palettes just like in photoshop.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can tag as many people as possible and get eyes on design elements for emails going out. It makes it easy for me to see the end result as a developer. Copy included.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Thank you for this great feedback. It sounds like Opal has become central to how you work as a developer. Glad to hear that the platform is delivering the full context of your work for you and your team!

 ### 33. Super easy to use and functional

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I love the different views and how easy it is to see everything, collaborate and get the work done. It's super efficient and such a great user experience. Highly recommend.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Haven't seen any downsides thus far! I think the main frustration is not being able to directly post from Opal -- but honestly, there are so many channel-specific things, that we would probably want to post separately anyway.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed viz into what was going out on our social channels so I can have a full view for when I'm planning our comms strategy and marketing strategy for the year. It's helpful to be able to keep up to date, and easily gut check that everything is tracking towards our larger goals.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Thank you for this glowing recommendation – the team will definitely be hearing about this! Efficiently collaborating with your team in Opal is one of the best uses. **Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I love how intuitive the functions are even when I first logged into the site.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

At the time while I was working through the platform, there was a missing function for organic ads.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gave everyone on my team and across the enterprise, a way to visualize all the work we are doing across functions, making us more productive.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Great to know that you find the platform's design to be intuitive and user-friendly right from the start. A user-friendly interface can greatly enhance the overall experience and make it easier for teams to collaborate effectively. ### 35. Opal is unrivaled for social media planning

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

The best thing about Opal is being able to manage social media programs across multiple markets, languages, and stakeholders efficiently and in bulk. When looking at competitors, they have a one-post-at-a-time workflow, which is just not feasible for the scale at which we manage content.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Opal is not as strong in publishing multi-channel campaigns, but it's getting better.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal is solving the problem of managing social media workstreams for ~20 global markets. It allows us to centralize production and approvals, tag and track content in-platform and through to our social publishing tool, and give stakeholders real-time visibility into their local content calendar. Managing content in this way also allows us to enforce social best practices and brand style guidelines.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Handling content in bulk, while empowering a high standard of quality, is one of the reasons that many marketers love Opal. Glad to hear you're experiencing that as well. Localization is one of the things that the Opal platform is built to facilitate, so it's great to know you’re using it. Thank you for taking the time to write a review!

 ### 36. A solid social media management tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I love te calendar view that Opal offers so I can easily look at the month ahead and see all the planned posts. It's also really easy for individual teams to own and edit their own channels without disrupting planned posts from other teams.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

I wish Opal can automatically detect the type of post once I upload or assign the post's content. I have to often double-check those settings when I can't figure why I can't save my post, it happens regularly.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need many people to be able to access posts and to create, edit and approve content. Opal makes it easy for everyone to access this information with one central location for all our needs.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Fantastic to hear that Opal empowers you to see your entire month of content planned out at a time. Also, I love that Opal empowers your whole team to create content and manage their own channels.

 ### 42. Opal Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I like the weekly view Opal offers to show moments in our marketing calendar. I also like how easy it is to add new or edit moments within the platform. Opal moments seem to be on par/equal to other types of competitors.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

In our company, we also utilize Sprinklr and the connections between Sprinklr and Opal are not great. While it's easy to link the platforms together, we have quite a bit of difficulty when it comes to having the Opal information feed into Sprinklr correctly.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal helps our company keep track of marketing beats across multiple teams to ensure we are always aligned on our projects.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**
