What do you like best about ONTAP Data Management Software?

The layout of the GUI, especially the networking tabs, is fabulous. It has been organized in such a way that is very straightforward and easy to navigate. The utility of the features for CIFS & NFS make creating Windows shares hosted directly from the array a breeze! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ONTAP Data Management Software?

For CIFS shares when you click "Stop Sharing" it actually deletes all of the share settings and disappears - this was an unwelcome surprise, as the description is not indicative of such an irreversible action. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Runs on all FAS filers and can also be a virtual appliance. It's versatility with multiple protocols such as NFS, CIFS, iSCSI and FibreChannel make it a very powerful product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It takes a bit of a learning curve to know what options do what, but most things can be done from the GUI. The command line is difficult but very powerful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
