The only real downside to Onsen at the moment, is with the documentation. Due to Onsen still being developed, the docs are a work in progress; however, that downside is rectified by the amazingly active Onsen community in which you can engage with the actual Onsen developers with rapid response. The framework is beautiful and everything runs smooth which is very important to deliver an organic user experience in a mobile application.

The entire UI is fully compatible with both Android and IOS, I had no problems with touch gestures, even on older and slower devices, and the entire framework uses a simple and intuitive markup.
