"Centralized User Management with Stellar Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Okta?

I love that Okta provides a single pane of glass for both users and admins managing users, which has been a great boon. The 2FA user management feature is the best because it's intuitive and simple to see and fix issues. Okta's ability to pull in multiple vendors and services into one authenticated login is great. I also find it fantastic how Okta integrates with Active Directory and our ManageEngine platform. Okta support has been amazing, with the team always willing to help onboard outside vendors who aren't compliant with 2FA methods, integrating them into the Okta dashboard. Switching from Duo Mobile, Okta has been a fantastic, more fully-featured product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Okta?

User and group management is a bit cumbersome and takes some digging and relearning of how Okta's containers work to use effectively. More function buttons or in-dashboard info explaining functions would be a great addition. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like most about Okta is the seamless Single Sign-On (SSO) experience, the strong security features, and the wide range of application integrations. Together, these make access management much simpler while also improving security and boosting user productivity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Okta?

What I dislike about Okta is that troubleshooting complex integrations and custom authentication workflows can be challenging at times, and the licensing costs can become significant as deployments grow larger. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Okta Makes Identity and Access Management Simple, Secure, and User-Friendly"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Okta?

What I like most about Okta is how much it simplifies identity and access management without adding complexity for end users. The single sign-on experience is fast and reliable, allowing employees to securely access multiple business applications with one login, which saves time and reduces password-related issues. Multi-factor authentication is easy to configure and provides an extra layer of security without creating unnecessary friction. I also appreciate the centralized admin console, which makes user provisioning, deprovisioning, and access management straightforward. Okta integrates well with a wide range of cloud applications, making it a great fit for organizations using multiple SaaS tools. Overall, it has improved security, streamlined onboarding and offboarding, and significantly reduced the workload on IT teams while providing a smooth experience for employees. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Okta?

One downside of Okta is that the initial setup and configuration can be complex, especially for organizations with many applications or custom integrations. Some advanced features also require higher-tier plans, which can increase costs as the business grows. Occasionally, troubleshooting authentication or integration issues takes longer than expected because there are many configuration options. While the platform is generally reliable, the admin interface can feel overwhelming for new administrators who are still learning how everything works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Clean Admin UI, Seamless Integrations, and Reliable Enterprise Identity Security"
5/5
What do you like best about Okta?

After two years using Okta, I appreciate the clean admin UI, seamless integrations with Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and AWS, plus reliable performance. Adaptive MFA and Lifestyle Management have streamlined onboarding and access reviews. Support is knowledgeable, and pricing feels reasonable for enterprise value, and AI-powered Identity Threat Protection adds useful security insights. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Okta?

My main frustration is with advanced policy configuration and troubleshooting. can become complex in large environments. Some integrations require extra customization, and pricing increases with additional modules, and AI capabilities are still evolving. Support is helpful, but resolving complex enterprise issues can sometimes take longer than expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Access and Secure SSO, but Setup and Policy Configuration Take Time"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Okta?

What I like best about Okta is how much simpler it makes managing user access as a company grows. During my time at a startup, new employees often needed access to multiple applications from day one, and having a centralized platform helped streamline that process. Instead of managing accounts separately for every application, we could control access from one place, which savd time and reducd the chances of someone having unnecessary permissions.

The Single Sign-On experience also made life easier for employees because they didn't have to remember different passwords for every tool they used. On top of that, Multi-Factor Authentication added an extra layer of security without making the login process overly complicated. Overall, Okta gave us a good balance between security and usability, which was especially valuable in a fast-paced environment where efficiency mattered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Okta?

One area where Okta could improve is the initial setup and policy configuration. While the pltform offers a lot of flexibility, confguring authentication policies, application integrations, and user permissions can feel overwhelming fr teams that are new to identity and access management. There is a learning curve before administrators become comfortable with all the available options.

Another challenge is that troubleshooting authentication or integration issues sometimes requires digging through logs and docmentation, which can take time. Once everything is configured, the platform is reliable, but making the setup process more intuitive and providing clearer guidance for complex configurations would improve the overall experience. "Flexible Risk-Based MFA and Intuitive UI That Strengthens Conditional Access"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Okta?

We love the flexibility of being able to create MFA policies based on risk and device type. This has helped us improve our conditional access and gives us the ability to control authentication strength based on the login. We have never seen any performance issues that we okta's fault. The integration catalog includes most common applications and the UI is intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Okta?

The thing we dislike most is the cost. It often feels like each new feature is treated as an add-on rather than a true enhancement to the core product. We also find the logs difficult to interpret at times; for example, a failed password attempt can show up as a failed MFA, which makes troubleshooting more confusing than it needs to be. "Great UX and a Single Dashboard with FastPass and Passwordless Access"
5/5
What do you like best about Okta?

What I like most about Okta is how simple and reliable it is for managing identity at scale. It offers a clean, intuitive approach to single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and lifecycle management across both cloud and on-prem applications, with minimal friction for end users.

From an operational standpoint, Okta stands out for quick integrations, a strong security posture, and useful automation. Its extensive app catalog, flexible APIs, and event-driven workflows make it straightforward to onboard and offboard users, enforce conditional access, and cut down on manual effort. Overall, it delivers a solid balance of security, usability, and scalability, which is essential in modern enterprise environments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Okta?

What I dislike about Okta is that it can become expensive at scale, especially once you start adding advanced features such as adaptive MFA, privileged access, or workflows. The modular licensing model is flexible, but it also means costs can ramp up quickly as requirements mature and more capabilities are needed.

From a technical and operational perspective, more complex use cases can be difficult to model cleanly particularly when you get into fine‑grained access governance, deep role modelling, or non‑standard lifecycle scenarios. Debugging authentication issues or unexpected policy interactions can also be time‑consuming, largely because native troubleshooting visibility is limited. And while Okta integrates well with many applications out of the box, custom or legacy integrations often take more effort than expected and may require stronger JavaScript/API expertise to implement and maintain. "Secure Identity Management with Minor UI Complexity"
5/5
What do you like best about Okta?

I find Okta very useful for identity-based access management. I like that it's a security layer on top of most apps, making it possible to identify who logs in and accesses a specific application. The fact that only enterprise users can access the apps is great because external users won't have the enterprise login created in Okta. It's very important for an enterprise to secure tools and their access, and Okta makes it possible to add identity to both human users and non-human users like agents or systems. I also appreciate that it's accessible via mobile, which is very convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Okta?

I think the admin dashboard could be simplified as it's a bit complicated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
