**What do you like best about Okta?**

What I like best about Okta is how it simplifies identity and access management without adding unnecessary complexity. The platform is intuitive, integrates with a wide range of applications, and makes user provisioning and Single Sign-On seamless. Multi-Factor Authentication is easy to deploy and provides strong security while maintaining a smooth user experience. From an administrator’s perspective, centralized user management and detailed reporting save a significant amount of time, especially in enterprise environments with large numbers of users and applications. Overall, Okta strikes a good balance between security, scalability, and ease of management.

**What do you dislike about Okta?**

While Okta is a powerful platform, the licensing model can become expensive as organizations add more features and users. Some advanced configurations, particularly around custom identity workflows and integrations, have a learning curve and may require technical expertise. The admin interface is generally good, but navigating certain settings can sometimes feel overwhelming due to the number of available options. Reporting and customization could also be more flexible for organizations with complex requirements.

**What problems is Okta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Okta helps us centralize identity and access management across multiple business applications, eliminating the need to manage user accounts separately for each platform. Single Sign-On improves the end-user experience by reducing password fatigue, while Multi-Factor Authentication strengthens security without creating unnecessary friction. Automated user provisioning and deprovisioning save administrative effort, reduce human error, and ensure users have the right level of access throughout their lifecycle. Overall, Okta improves security, streamlines IT operations, and helps maintain compliance while increasing productivity for both administrators and end users.

**What do you like best about Okta?**

I can see all the tools I have access to from our organization right in the Okta dashboard, which makes it easy to reach everything from one central place.

 I’m also able to create app categories and organize the tools in a way that improves convenience and productivity. Integrations with our organization’s applications work seamlessly, so the overall experience feels smooth and unified. 

Signing in and authenticating with the Okta FastPass app is quick, secure, and hassle-free, which translates into strong overall performance and a consistently fast login experience.

**What do you dislike about Okta?**

Although Okta supports thousands of integrations, some custom or legacy applications still require extra configuration or even custom development to get everything working smoothly.

The mobile app is reliable for authentication, but it feels more limited than the web dashboard when it comes to managing applications and adjusting settings.

**What problems is Okta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Okta’s password management feature is very helpful in my day-to-day work because it reduces the need to remember multiple passwords. The Okta dashboard is also easy and convenient to use, giving me a single place to access and launch all of my applications.

Its a great aggregator of all your apps. Its very easy to access everything at one place. I use it daily. It also goes thru 2-3 layers of secured access which is important for the safety of my data

Steep learning curve for advanced features – While the core UI is intuitive, unlocking the full power of Okta (e.g., custom policies, API integrations, and advanced SSO flows) requires diving into dense documentation and a steep configuration process that can be frustrating for new administrators.
Limited native reporting flexibility – Okta’s built‑in reporting is useful for basic audits, but it lacks granular, export‑ready dashboards. Customizing metrics or pulling detailed logs often forces users to rely on third‑party tools or export data manually, which slows down compliance and troubleshooting efforts.

**What problems is Okta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralized identity management – Okta unifies user authentication across cloud, on‑premise, and mobile applications, eliminating the need for multiple login portals and reducing password fatigue for both end‑users and IT staff.
Streamlined onboarding/offboarding – Automated provisioning and de‑provisioning ensure that employees get instant access to the tools they need and are promptly removed from all systems when they leave, tightening security and cutting manual effort.
Zero‑trust security – By enforcing adaptive MFA, contextual access policies, and continuous authentication, Okta protects sensitive data from credential‑based attacks and supports compliance with regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2.
Scalable SSO & API access – With a single sign‑on experience for hundreds of SaaS apps and secure API gateway capabilities, Okta reduces IT overhead, speeds up application adoption, and improves user productivity.

**What do you like best about Okta?**

What I like best about Okta is how it makes security feel simple rather than complicated. In a fast-paced organization like iQor, employees need quick and reliable access to the tools they use every day, and Okta delivers that without sacrificing security. The single sign-on experience has been a major benefit, reducing password fatigue and minimizing the number of access-related support requests. From a leadership perspective, it's reassuring to know that strong security measures such as multi-factor authentication are working in the background while employees can stay focused on serving clients and driving business results.

**What do you dislike about Okta?**

If I had to point out one drawback, it would be that Okta can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming when you're dealing with more advanced configurations or complex integrations. While the platform is very powerful, there are occasions when troubleshooting access issues requires digging through multiple settings and logs, which can be time-consuming. I also think the user interface for some administrative tasks could be more intuitive. New administrators may need some time to become fully comfortable navigating all the features and policies available within the platform.

**What problems is Okta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the biggest challenges for any organization is making sure employees can easily access the tools they need while keeping company and customer data secure. Okta has helped us address both. It has simplified how we manage user access across multiple applications, eliminating a lot of the frustration that comes with forgotten passwords, login issues, and manual access requests.

**What do you like best about Okta?**

This makes the process much more streamlined. I no longer have to remember the login credentials for the many tools we use internally. It also helps ensure that, by using Okta, the organization’s security protocols are consistently met, so I don’t have to keep worrying about it on an ongoing basis.

**What do you dislike about Okta?**

Okta keeps prompting me to save credentials on the personal side as well, which is a bit annoying. There should be a setting where I can specify once that I don’t want to save certain credentials, and then not be asked again. If later there’s a credential I do want to save, I should be able to choose to save it manually.

**What problems is Okta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organizational control: having a single place for employees to access tools helps keep things consistent and manageable. It also ensures that security measures, especially around password policy, are maintained. It’s much easier to enforce these controls in one tool rather than trying to manage them separately for every tool we need to access.

It also helps limit phishing attempts, since tools are accessed via Okta.

**What do you like best about Okta?**

We're using Okta to store our tools. It sorts out tool in order. Makes it easier for us employees to pull up the tools that we need to use at any time. It emails you when your password is about to expire and you can easily change it from Okta easily.

**What do you dislike about Okta?**

The fact that when changing your password, it already inputs an automated old password which you need to remove first and put your old password. It may be confusing to new users and may cause them to get locked out if they do not erase it and manually put their old password.

**What problems is Okta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves being unorganize. Easily to navigate, easily to find tools that we need for work and it is what I like. Plain and simple. Straight-forward tool that's exactly what we employees need.

**What do you like best about Okta?**

I love that Okta provides a single pane of glass for both users and admins managing users, which has been a great boon. The 2FA user management feature is the best because it's intuitive and simple to see and fix issues. Okta's ability to pull in multiple vendors and services into one authenticated login is great. I also find it fantastic how Okta integrates with Active Directory and our ManageEngine platform. Okta support has been amazing, with the team always willing to help onboard outside vendors who aren't compliant with 2FA methods, integrating them into the Okta dashboard. Switching from Duo Mobile, Okta has been a fantastic, more fully-featured product.

**What do you dislike about Okta?**

User and group management is a bit cumbersome and takes some digging and relearning of how Okta's containers work to use effectively. More function buttons or in-dashboard info explaining functions would be a great addition.

**What problems is Okta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Okta helps consolidate multiple vendors into one login and improves user management with permissions and lockouts.

**What do you like best about Okta?**

It’s an all-in-one platform, and I really love the integration. It also tracks location, which is helpful.

**What do you dislike about Okta?**

Nothing much looks good for now, even though all the features seem to be up to date.

**What problems is Okta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to struggle with manually provisioning developer access across dozens of internal tools, AWS accounts, and staging environments, and that often pushed new engineer onboarding back by several days.

Now we rely on Okta’s single sign-on (SSO) and automated lifecycle management to grant or revoke access immediately based on team roles.

As a result, onboarding time has dropped from about 3 days to under an hour. We also have centralized visibility into who can access our sensitive infrastructure, and we’ve seen a significant reduction in password-reset tickets for our IT and DevOps teams.

What I like most about Okta is how simple and reliable it is for managing identity at scale. It offers a clean, intuitive approach to single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and lifecycle management across both cloud and on-prem applications, with minimal friction for end users.

From an operational standpoint, Okta stands out for quick integrations, a strong security posture, and useful automation. Its extensive app catalog, flexible APIs, and event-driven workflows make it straightforward to onboard and offboard users, enforce conditional access, and cut down on manual effort. Overall, it delivers a solid balance of security, usability, and scalability, which is essential in modern enterprise environments.

**What do you dislike about Okta?**

What I dislike about Okta is that it can become expensive at scale, especially once you start adding advanced features such as adaptive MFA, privileged access, or workflows. The modular licensing model is flexible, but it also means costs can ramp up quickly as requirements mature and more capabilities are needed.

From a technical and operational perspective, more complex use cases can be difficult to model cleanly particularly when you get into fine‑grained access governance, deep role modelling, or non‑standard lifecycle scenarios. Debugging authentication issues or unexpected policy interactions can also be time‑consuming, largely because native troubleshooting visibility is limited. And while Okta integrates well with many applications out of the box, custom or legacy integrations often take more effort than expected and may require stronger JavaScript/API expertise to implement and maintain.

**What problems is Okta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Okta addresses the challenge of managing secure access across an expanding number of applications, systems, and users by serving as a central identity control layer. It replaces fragmented logins and manual access administration with single sign-on, strong multi-factor authentication, and automated user lifecycle management aligned to joiner, mover, and leaver events. This helps organisations reduce security risk, particularly from compromised or orphaned accounts, while improving compliance and audit readiness through centralised access policies and clearer oversight. It also lowers the operational burden on IT teams by streamlining provisioning and access changes. For end users, it provides a smoother experience with fewer passwords and quicker access, and for security and identity teams it supports consistent, scalable enforcement of zero-trust access controls across cloud, on‑prem, and hybrid environments.
