OfferZen makes my life easier in terms of recruiting Java Developers I can quickly scroll through the CV's I like based on my requirements and speak to the candidate directly without any middle man.Its an awesome platform and they listen to comments/reviews and continously enhance the platform.The account manager Nicola Osman is always available and even helps me filter and go through CV's its an awesome Customer Support. At first there was no way to use multiple skills to filter candidate it was bringing cvs that are not related to what I need because of searching using a sigle skills they have since improved that.If there can be a way save filters such that a CV that rejected should not be showing in my next search.If there can be guidance for Devs to understand current market benchmarks some Devs outprice themselves and keep changing sallaries every week. OfferZen has been a great platform for me and my colleagues to find candidates across South Africa and Europe. It has made it easy for us to connect with them directly and quickly. I appreciate the feature that allows a candidate to indicate their availability in their calendar, which is visible to me as a recruiter or talent acquisition partner. The company page on the platform provides detailed information that helps candidates make an informed decision on whether to accept or decline our invitation to connect and have an initial conversation. As an hiring manager I have used Offerzen over the last two years and have successfully placed four team members of my current team. I even got placed through the platform myself, and I recall it was very easy to get onboarded, and as a candidate the support was great.
It's a consistent interface and makes it easy to review skills and CV's to drill down on the key aspects of the skills I am looking for. Getting the ability to see the relative popularity gives you an added impetus to know that you need to get a move on . The search and filtering features are powerful, once you get to understand how to use it well. I do find it easy to use and use it weekly to review new candidates, if I have current open roles.
The interaction via the messaging is usefull as well although the majority of the communcations post introduction happens off the site.

The platform is very strong on roles that are closely techical - development, quality assurance, product management and related staff, but for the upper and management levels it's not that packed. This is more a function of their focus, which has been on the development community - getting momentum and scale needed them to focus on that area, but they are expanding their reach in these other areas too. Offerzen simplifies the hunt for top tier tech talent. The platform provides user friendly features and an extensive database of qualified candidates. What stands out to me is the ability to interact with candidates within the app, favourite promising individuals for team review, and the convenience of leaving internal notes for colleagues. Our account manager, Nicola, is incredibly supportive and helpful. I can confidently say that if we had used the traditional recruitment method, it would have taken us much longer to fill our roles. I've enjoyed working with the team at Offerzen, particularly Lizzy. She is always helpful and responsive and will go above and beyond to lend an extra hand. Whether it's additional information or assisting with shortlisting, the team is always available to lend a hand. We are regularly asked for feedback and ideas which has made for tangible changes. With our open communication, we also let the team know when we need more of a particular skillset which directs their focus in order to help us. The platform is user-friendly and allows our recruitment team and hiring managers to communicate effectively on the platform. While our journey with OfferZen has had its high points and we have managed to make numorous hires, it hasn't been without its challenges. A major pain point for us has been OfferZen's approach to developer compensation. The platform promises developers significantly more than the average market value, which, while enticing to potential candidates, creates unrealistic salary expectations. This tactic has complicated our hiring process.
In our search for capable developers, we have encountered a multitude of candidates with inflated salary expectations. This inflated self-worth has led to an over-saturated candidate pool, muddying the waters of competence-based selection. For us, finding the right fit meant identifying developers who not only had the experience but also the requisite competence, which we had presumed to correspond with certain salary brackets. But with OfferZen setting an inflated standard, we found ourselves sorting through a multitude of less-qualified candidates with high salary expectations. This complicated and drawn-out process has made finding the right people a more challenging task than we anticipated.
