What I have found most useful from the Odessa Platform is the ability to be able to use the test enivronment for our own business needs, being able to work through problems and then solve the issues for which we can then put into practice for the production environment. Having the Odessa Core team behind us is really great in the way that we can connect with them daily if we have any issues with the system, work with them on bug fixes or even work with them on any process improvements that we would require as a business. I think the one thing for me personally about the Odessa System is the upgrades that are mandatory every 2/3 years. This is mainly due to issues that we have faced in the past with certain modules that have stopped working, which we then need to focus on as a priortity so that it does not delay our day to day business. Coming from a leasing system that looked like a command prompt window, Odessa enabled us transition to a modern platform, eliminating major headaches dealing with text file. Odessa also continues to take customer feedback & requests as well as general improvements and develop updates to include these in the product (UI & Quality of life improvements, Data analytics). Conflicts between customizations & product updates can introduce bugs. A few reporting customizations were needed as we were not getting what we needed from the included reports alone but this is mainly referring to reports that are used for monthly reconciliations, for other reporting needs, the custom reporting tools are fine. The only downside to this platform would be related to the 'best thing' about it... as an executive sponsor for this project, my advice to the next sponsor would be to make sure you can match their 'firepower' with your own.
