Have been using it successfully for over 10 years, mostly on-premise and more recently in the Cloud
Good features
Ability to automate runbooks and deployments Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When you need to rely on it, sometimes runbooks don't run and just hang. We are asked to reboot the agent weekly by Support and the underlyinhg issue has not been addressed
Deployments are sometimes slower that I would like, although this seems to be improving recently
The recent changes to pay in advance rather than arrears are my main complaint because this causes friction. I would rather consume the software and then get billed from what we use, rather than have to engage with sales to by more licenses Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Octopus Deploy is the optimal option for managing application deployment by using builds and releases. It's an easy solution to achieve this with a very simple UI. It has a good feature for creating releases easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've found nothing to dislike about this platform. Yet, it is a little complex for new beginners. Moreover, Octopus includes well-designed documentation for use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Octopus is simply the best deployment software tool out there. It covers all deployment scenarios from traditional packages deployed to Windows hosts, through Containerisation to state-of-the-art serverless deployments of application and IAC in the cloud.
Its learning curve is simple with simple set up, a great UI and easy getting started guides. Its recent shift to Config As Code has allowed it to keep pace with the best DevOps tooling platforms, all while maintaining its simplicity and ease-of-use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The deployment target nature of setting up agents on every physical machine can be a little challenging. Some of the configuration in Terraform such as Tenants can be a little time consuming and clunky. Some aspects, such as Secrets management are not yet fully Config-As-Code. Our client migrated from existing deployment tool to octopus and I must say the tool has a great UI and is very easy to use. The ability to select release packages to deploy by just selecting from list of drop down is makes life really easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some areas that can be improved. Example:- Compared to previous tool that we used, octopus has somewhat restrictive display of past deployments that happened on a stream. There could have been a separate area where they could have displayed all the past deployments before stream refresh. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
