Instead of wasting hours scrolling through endless parts lists and chasing down datasheets, I just type in what I need and—voilà!—it’s all there in seconds. How impressive that you can pull up stock info and specs so quickly. It’s almost like you understand that my time is valuable and decided to make my life a little easier. Thanks for saving me from the tedious stuff and letting me focus on actually getting things done. But seriously, it is an amazing tool, and every engineer worth their time and effort knows this is essential to a good design setup. **What do you dislike about Octopart?** Octopart’s website can feel a bit clunky and outdated, making navigation less smooth than it could be. The interface sometimes adds unnecessary friction to finding components. Still, these minor annoyances are a small price to pay for the site’s overall usefulness in quickly locating parts and specs. **What problems is Octopart solving and how is that benefiting you?** Octopart just takes the hassle out of finding components. Instead of wigging through endless lists and datasheets, I can quickly find what I need, which is a huge time-saver. For me, using Octopart with Altium means I’m saving hours—a week’s worth of work. It’s made the whole ECAD design process so much smoother and actually enjoyable. The efficiency boost has made a big difference in my work and improved my overall experience. ### 3. Can make it more user friendly . also few of the websites are not updated on hourly basis . that can be changed . also they can update their data base to include more companies **What problems is Octopart solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can see all the websites where the part is available and the stock . as a robotics company we order around 200-300 components for each robot . this website makes it very easy for our procurement team ### 4. I'm mostly using Octopart to check which suppliers have inventory of the parts that I'm looking for, not for the initial part search. **What problems is Octopart solving and how is that benefiting you?** Octopart is providing a great way to be aware of which online suppliers have inventory of any particular electrical components that I want to use for designs; this has helped my business performance considerably, especially during COVID-19 when supply chains were heavily impacted ### 5. Also, it can be used together with Altium Designer, to automatically check the availability an priced of a bill of materials of an electronic product. Also bill of materials can be uploaded directly to check for availability, stock and prices for a specific quantity. **What do you dislike about Octopart?** There is nothing I dislike, I would add extra functionalities maybe, like standard fields to compare similar components and use it to find alternative part numbers when there is an obsolete one. **Recommendations to others considering Octopart:** Use it to quickly find a part number in all the available distributors, and load a BOM to have an estimation of the final product price. **What problems is Octopart solving and how is that benefiting you?** Easy and fast way to find an electronic component in a distributor. I wish they did not to vet the real sites and prevent the non-legitimate ones from appearing in searches. **Recommendations to others considering Octopart:** If you are looking for general availability of electronics, then Octopart is the place for you. **What problems is Octopart solving and how is that benefiting you?** Octopart allows me to quickly search for small electronics parts that would normally take me multiple hours to search for when looking at 10+ manufacturers' sites. ### 14.
