Top Rated NVivo Alternatives

Nvivo is the most powerful software for managing and analysing many types of qualitative data, including text, audio, images, or even videos. The best feature for me is the embedded transcription service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The main problem I have with Nvivo is the cost of the subscription. The monthly price is quite high for individual researchers or small organisations to be able to afford. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wouldn't say anything is great about this expensive program that you cant find for cheaper elsewhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Crashes. I have half of my audio files transcribed and coded while the other half I have not been able to upload for the past three weeks because of a system error that they cannot yet resolve. They do not have a customer service line that you can directly call and when you send a customer service message the email you receive tells you that they are working on the issue and that you just have to stay put. I have not been able to do vital work for the past three weeks because of this issue. I have gone back and forth requesting for updates and nothing. I have asked for a refund and they have ghosted me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Additionally, it has many options for analyzing the information obtained from fieldwork such as interviews or surveys. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like the least about Nvivo is the access to the toolbar. Some options have very small text and it is not easy to understand which button is the correct one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best thing about NVivo is how easy it is to search for and pull relevant text from large quantities of qualitative data once coded. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The coding process is time intensive, and I don't find NVivo to be the most user-friendly or efficient when it comes to coding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
