The AI mocap tools are indispensable for simple tasks where you need to quickly animate characters, with a simple webcam or your phone you can obtain mocap quickly even to track live action footage for movies or series where you need to track the movement of your character you can have that data ready in seconds and FREE. What I don't like is having to open different apps when they are clearly identical. On one hand, having them modular is good, but on the other hand, you want to have everything in a single software like Maya or Houdini, meaning having a creative content creation tool (CCC) in one place that allows you to simulate, animate, capture motion, facial animation, etc., all in one place. Also, the compatibility with USD should be more transparent. The tutorials for some functions, like the integration of facial animation with Unreal, are missing, and the workflows change with each new version.
