What sets Notion apart most is its ability to combine note-taking and project ideas in one place, thanks to its flexible databases feature. One thing I dislike about Notion is the learning curve, especially when you start creating databases and building more advanced workflows. What I like best is that the database structure and the Claude integration work together. I run several concurrent roles: CEO of a clinical-stage gene therapy company, managing partner of a venture studio, and board seats at two other companies. Notion is the one place where all of that lives as a connected system, rather than separate silos, with my CRM, project trackers, meeting notes, and capital formation pipeline all linked.

The part that makes it more than storage is that Claude works out of those same databases directly. I can ask for a status update on an investor relationship and it pulls the actual conversation history from Notion instead of relying on what I remember to tell it. After a call, it can log the notes and update the relevant project or contact record without me retyping anything. That back-and-forth between Notion and Claude, research pulled from my own data and written straight back into it, is what makes the system function as a working tool rather than a place I file things and forget. Dense database views don't render well on a phone, and if I want to check a contact or project status right before walking into a call, that's exactly when I need it to work.

The other friction is Notion's page-level permission model. Claude can only see pages I've explicitly connected through Notion's own Connections setting, so a private page I haven't run that step on stays invisible even though I have full access to it myself. It's a reasonable security boundary, but there's no indication when a page is being silently excluded, so I've been burned by assuming something was there when it wasn't. It’s a little complicated. I’m sure it would be useful for a team, but for a single person using Notion, everything besides the library and meeting features feels like overkill. I tried integrating it with my outlook calender but couldnt do that. Performance is phenomenal. Pricing seems a little steep for India market but again if its for a team it would be decent enough. I like that I can structure things in any way that I want. I can create databases and pages with different sections, headers, footers, and dividers in between. It helps me specifically with my social media planning by allowing me to have sections dedicated to showing my growth over time with a graph, and another section where I can put different tasks or to-do items for the next video I'm going to create. What I like most is the combination of Notion AI and Notion’s page-based organization. I use Notion to manage CreationCodex, a long-term personal software project, by keeping separate pages for feature plans, technical decisions, research, bug notes, and future tasks. Notion AI helps me turn rough ideas into structured plans, summarize long technical notes, improve documentation, and compare different implementation options. That saves me from having to dig through old chat conversations and scattered local files whenever I need to revisit a decision.

I also use Notion alongside ChatGPT, GitHub, and my local project files, with Notion serving as the central place where I store final plans and decisions. I don’t currently rely heavily on direct integrations, but it’s still valuable to keep links, notes, and project context together in one place. The workspace system could be clearer. I ended up with multiple workspaces that had the same name, and I assumed they were just different spaces under the same account. Instead, each workspace had its own separate plan, trial, billing status, and AI access. That was confusing, because it wasn’t obvious which workspace had the active promotion and which one had an unpaid invoice. Is very difficult to find something to dislike at Notion as everything is incredible designed, and provides a lot of efficiencies to real work and personal organization. I like that Notion is very customizable and easy to use, especially when integrating it with Claude and other artificial intelligence tools. I feel that it is an excellent middle ground between a notebook and technology. I use it collaboratively to manage my freelance project and to record my learning process in Pilates and the birth of my studio. Additionally, I value that all the documentation I have in Notion becomes a dynamic repository, allowing me to create new entries from previously accumulated knowledge. Sometimes, Notion can be a bit complex to use, although artificial intelligence helps to overcome that. However, I find it a bit expensive, especially when integrated with other tools, adding up to around $50 a month. I also feel that sometimes its visualization is not the most attractive; I would like to have more interactive options.
