Noteflight is the best web-based music composition software. It is easy to learn how to use the features to compose your first song or arrange a song. The menus provide explanations for those just learning. Playback is an excellent way to hear what is being written before the final product is completed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The menus are in the way of the composition. They used to be above the composition. I also dislike the way the notes and rests are added manually. It took me some time to figure out the best way to accomplish this before using the keyboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Noteflight stores all of your scores in the cloud, so you can access scores from wherever you need. It has an easy interface (easier than Finale) and it doesn't take long to learn the ins and outs of the software. My husband marvels at how fast I'm able to input music into Noteflight. I can print out copies of my scores for my students, or go back and edit them again later. I can listen to what I've written and play it back over my computer audio. The standard level of Noteflight is free, but there's a minimum amount of scores you can have at any given moment. If you need to create another score, you'll need to delete old ones. There are also several "cool" features that are unavailable in the free version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's a lot you can do with a free account. Makes composing and transcribing fun and easy! I love that it plays each note as you record it and you can play the whole thing back at any point. Perfect for my needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can't find a way to change settings so the coloring should be more user friendly. The current colors give me a headache. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love that a user can either choose to be a composer or a listener. The software is also web based and it can be used on any device that runs a browser. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The web page navigation is very confusing. The user may get confused on where to go, what to do, although some places have labels, they are not really helpful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love that with NoteFlight, I can edit any music from my device. It helps in my classroom when composing music for my students! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One thing I don't like is that the app has been known to suddenly crash from time to time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
An affordable, easy-to-use option for musical notation, which typically requires either expensive or clunky software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A limited user base means that the searchable libraries are limited, but that is likely to grow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Noteflight is used for composition, edit, view and share music on a single app with any connecting device. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Dislike the most if we as professional music we can't do in that app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
