I love to use Node-RED frequently to make POC in a straightforward way because you don't need to code anything, its so easy to implement with other services, the simply graphical drag and drop feature allows to connect blocks of functions without write one line of code, so you can make an entire workflow in few steps and few minutes. The graphical approach will limits the option to add code, in certain blocks you can add javascript scripts but you always became limited by the blocks itself, so you need to be careful to maintain the Node-Red architecture once you try to export the design to its code equivalent. Simple and effective business process software. You can check the process at any time. I can't imagine another system to implement the connection of two systems and exchange of data between them. Node-RED has a great, large and helpful developer environment. You can contact them on the forum and get advice, hints or help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I recently did a B2B system integration with a logistics provider.
I, for one, can't point to things that annoy me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Node-RED is the best solution for automation and integrating any devices available, be it Zigbee, MQTT, Wifi, a wide range of cloud devices and services and a lot of messengers and notification solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The library of Node-RED is huge, there is a lot of packages to look at and to try before there is a perfect match. And the memory footprint seems somewhat high. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It eases the development of api's and it is user friendly for people with less coding skills. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
More of drg and drop ui and less of coding which coders doesnt like Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Node-RED main strength is its simplicity. With a visual paradigm, managing IoT protocols, automation, and technological barriers is a piece of cake for almost everybody. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the number of nodes tends to be high, increasing the complexity and making interpretation difficult. Luckily, grouping and "sub-flow" mechanisms mitigate this frequent problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is based on javascript which is probably the most used langauage in the world. Also it has great community support which is quite helpful for beginners. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The documentation could have been better and in more detailed. There are a few concepts for which there is no clear docs available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Node-RED has a list of pre-developed libraries for almost all famous sensors. So, you need not to worry about writing long codes for each and every other sensor on your project. UI will help you to map out whole automation process and sensors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Node-RED comes with a bundle of internal dependent files and information which consume a lot of memory. So, if you're running low on memory then Node-RED isn't a good choice according to me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's easy drag and drop features and custimisable engine and rules made my life much easier , I don't have to train new people about this tool .must have for any clud team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It does not come standalone and we have to use it with any other third party tool or cloud service provider for deployment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Node-Red is a really simple to use "language" and HiveMQ simply works (seamlessly) with it Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing to disike about HiveMQ - with the web front end and ability to access the broker via node-red I have apps up and running within minutes (ok, maybe 30 minutes) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
