**What do you like best about Nickel?**

I love the ease of paying people with Nickel. It's very reliable compared to writing checks or using other services like Venmo, which wasn't always reliable. We love that it's free to pay people, reliable, and it sends receipts so that vendors know when their payment will come through. The initial setup was extremely easy. Customer service is so quick. Someone is always there to answer questions/help quickly.

**What do you dislike about Nickel?**

Once there was a glitch where the payments we made with Nickel showed up on our business account in a different way, making us think we were being hacked. Instead of showing the name of the person we paid, it showed that we were paying our own business name. It was confusing and we closed our entire account down. Our book keeper helped us figure out that the payments were actually through nickel, and we were able to reverse our frozen account and all was well. It was confusing for the day, but it never happened again.

**What problems is Nickel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Nickel's reliability and ease of use help me avoid lost checks and unreliable payments. It's free, dependable, and provides receipts for payments. It solved issues we had with Venmo, like blocked payments and poor support.

**What do you like best about Nickel?**

Since migrating to Nickel from Stripe, the clean, simple, and intuitive UI has been at the top of my list of welcome changes. For my use case, Nickel has been a huge convenience. Setting up invoices for new customers takes about a minute per account. I also love the automatic recurring invoicing, and that I can easily upload the proper documentation when needed. I’ve only had to contact Support once, and it was a 10/10 experience—my issue was resolved very quickly.

**What do you dislike about Nickel?**

My only real knock here is that I still can’t set a recurring invoice to run indefinitely. I’m required to choose an end date, which means I then have to set my own reminders for when each invoice period ends so I can go back in and extend it. It’s a minor issue, but it creates what feels like unnecessary extra tri-annual setup on my end.

**What problems is Nickel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nickel is solving all of my automated ACH needs.  I also like that for the few customers I have that prefer CC transactions, I can easily pass that 2.9% fee on to them rather than eating that cost on my end.  If I decide to do it as a courtesy, it's a quick switch in settings.

**What do you like best about Nickel?**

I love how low the fees are with Nickel, since it passes the credit card fees on to the customer. I also really like how easy it is to send invoices thanks to the integrations with QuickBooks Online.

**What do you dislike about Nickel?**

The only thing I’d add is the ability to see when an invoice email was opened, so I can confirm the recipient has received it and actually viewed the invoice. That’s a feature available in QuickBooks Online. I know they’re constantly making improvements, so it’s possible I missed it if this has already been added.

**What problems is Nickel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We no longer have to pay high fees for cards and ACH, and the ability to charge a card on file has been very helpful as well.

Nickel has been a game changer for our staffing agency! We needed a solution after leaving a company we’d worked with for five years, but couldn’t afford all the additional fees, charges, and hassle we were finding with other processors. Nickel saved the day and has been affordable, incredibly easy to use, and never once a headache. Their system is intuitive, robust, and easy for all. We are super happy to be using Nickel - and hope to be with them for years to come!

Honestly, there is basically no downside. We have had feedback from two-three organizations that they had trouble paying invoices occasionally, but I believe that is more user error or failure to read instructions rather than a Nickel issue.

Nickel saves us money in fees for payment processing, and saves us time on the A/R & A/P sides of things.

They are easy to use, easy to work with, and the biggest thing for me is the customer service. They actually have customer service unlike BILL that we had prior. BILL took WEEKS to respond to our emergency needs vs Nickel is on it within minutes. Their team truly cares and take your needs very very seriously. Love Nickel!

Nothing so far! They are really fantastic and their platform is super easy to use.

They do my company payroll ACH and they do it flawlessly. They even talked to my bank to ensure our needs were met when my bank was being difficult.

**What do you like best about Nickel?**

I love the major cost savings Nickel offers, its ability to make invoices fully branded, and how simple it makes for a customer to choose to pay via ACH or credit card. If they choose to use a credit card, the fees are conveniently added right onto the invoice, without me having to track or modify invoices.

**What do you dislike about Nickel?**

It would be really cool if I could create an invoice template that automatically ports content from QuickBooks Online. The biggest feature I've requested a couple times is to make it clear that you can download the invoice from the link shared with people. Right now, if you click the preview, you can download it, but people don't have any instructions or know that. A little bit of tooltip or button would go a long way, I think.

Nickel removes the need for credit card fees and ACH payment fees, lets me create custom branded invoices that look better than QuickBooks, and simplifies customer payments via ACH or credit card with automatic fee handling, providing major cost savings.

**What do you like best about Nickel?**

What I like best about Nickel is that it solved a real operational challenge for our organization. We needed a simple, professional way to accept ACH, wire, and credit card payments through an invoicing process, and Nickel delivered exactly that. The integration with QuickBooks has been especially valuable because it streamlines payment collection and helps keep our financial processes organized and efficient.

Another major benefit is the ability to pass along applicable credit card processing fees to the end user, which helps protect our bottom line and makes payment costs more manageable. Since implementing Nickel, we’ve had great success improving the way we collect payments and solving a core business need in a seamless, user-friendly way.

**What do you dislike about Nickel?**

The only real drawback I experienced with Nickel was that reaching customer support could be a little challenging at times, particularly when trying to find the right contact channel initially. That said, once I connected with their team, they were very responsive, helpful, and quick to assist. We did experience a syncing issue at one point, and their team helped resolve it promptly. Outside of that initial support-access hurdle, I have not experienced any service issues or failures, so overall the experience has been very positive.

Nickel solved a key payment processing challenge for our organization by giving us one streamlined platform to accept ACH, wire, and credit card payments through an invoicing process. Before Nickel, managing multiple payment methods and keeping everything organized was more cumbersome. Their integration with QuickBooks has helped simplify reconciliation, improve efficiency, and save administrative time. It also allows us to pass through applicable credit card processing fees, which helps protect our bottom line. Overall, Nickel has made collecting payments faster, easier, and more professional for both our team and our customers.

**What do you like best about Nickel?**

I like that Nickel is easy to use and a simple platform. The price is great, and I appreciate the quick turnaround time from receiving notification of payments to actually having dollars in my bank account. They're super responsive to any questions or concerns I have, and they're always on the ball with product updates.

**What do you dislike about Nickel?**

It's still a young platform, so it doesn't have all of the robust features that I guess, something like Stripe might have. No API access currently. I understand that they're working on that. I use Xero as my bookkeeping software. It doesn't tie into Xero yet, but they're working on that.

**What problems is Nickel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Nickel for payment processing, handling accounts receivable and some payable processes, it simplifies and speeds up receiving payments.

I run over five different businesses and Nickel Payments has honestly made handling AP and AR way easier than it used to be. Having everything in one place instead of juggling different systems saves me a ton of time.  I like the interface a ton better than others (Melio, Bill, etc.)

It’s easy to use, reliable, and feels like it was built for actual business owners, not just finance folks. Payments go out without issues, money comes in faster, and I can see what’s going on across all my companies much better now.

Nickel Payments is something we use every day and I trust it to keep things moving without me worrying about it all the time. It just works, which is hard to find these days.

**What do you dislike about Nickel?**

The only real downside for me is that payments are limited to ACH and credit cards. It would be nice to also have options like PayPal or Zelle, since some customers prefer using those. That said, it’s a pretty minor issue compared to how well everything else works.

**What problems is Nickel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nickel solves the problem of messy payment processes. Before using Nickel, AP and AR were spread across different tools, emails, and bank logins, which made it harder to track what was paid, what was pending, and what was overdue.

Having everything centralized makes it so much easier in terms of reconciling accounts or double-checking transactions. It's a saving time and gives me confidence that money is moving correctly across multiple businesses without constant oversight.

I really like that with Nickel, we get paid a lot faster as we're not waiting for checks to be mailed or worried about them getting lost in the mail. It's so convenient that our clients can simply click a link in the email we send out, and then the payment is made and deposited in a few days. The initial setup of Nickel was quite easy for us, and once our clients got used to it, it's been really seamless.

**What do you dislike about Nickel?**

We don't use the invoicing feature in Nickel mostly because we've had the same way of invoicing for a long time. Integrating our invoicing system into Nickel's invoicing system could help us track invoices better. It's not necessarily Nickel's fault. Could be more of our fault, but we could certainly modernize our system to work better with the invoice management that Nickel provides.

Greater transparency and simplicity in pricing would help build even more trust. From a user experience perspective, enhancing the dashboards with more customizable views, real-time data, and clearer visualizations would make it easier for users to quickly understand performance and cash flow. Improving reporting by allowing more flexible filters, export options, and automated scheduled reports would also add a lot of value.

Nickel has been a great payment processing solution for our business. I love that it allows us to accept ACH payments with 0% processing fees, helping keep our costs down. It's straightforward to use, providing a helpful tool for managing payments more efficiently. The platform makes it easy to set up recurring invoices that sync with QBO, offering a two-way sync so invoices created in either place match incoming payouts, eliminating the need to manually figure out which customer invoices are still open. The transition from Helcim to Nickel was driven by its ease of use and better processing fees, and the initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Nickel?**

Payment authorization for clients that don't want to use Plaid. Currently, the only way to do payment authorization via ACH is through Plaid, and some clients don't want to do that, so they have to fill out a form that I have to upload, which increases the payout time by an additional day.

It's all really fast and easy to use, which is important to me because the less time I have to spend on these administrative tasks, the better. The initial setup of Nickel was also really easy.

I don't like the sync feature with my QBO. I have to resync or reset it quite a bit. I just have to push sync. If it could automatically sync more often, that would be better.

I like that Nickel is very affordable, and their cost doesn't scale with the number of transactions we do, which is really nice as our company looks to grow. They were able to approve us to use their ACH platform after a number of other providers were not able to get us that approval. The customer service team was very good, helping us get set up in less than a week from start to finish.

I've had some struggles keeping and maintaining the data inside of Nickel's user interface. There's a little bit of complexity with that user interface, but it's not a deal breaker.

My favorite thing about Nickel is it's integration with Quickbooks online. It is very simple to use and the most seamless AR/AP platform I have ever used.

The only thing it is missing is a couple of filter options but thats about it.

Nickel is helping me receive and process payments very efficiently and effectively. It keeps all my AR/AP organized, and has the fastest ACH processing time for a very cheap monthly cost which is very important to us.

What I like best about Nickel is the Master Account and Subaccount structure, which makes it easy to organize and manage cash flow across a business.

I don't really have any dislikes at this point.

I stumbled upon Nickel about a year ago, and it has since become the backbone of our AP and AR processes. As a business owner, finding a platform that actually simplifies cash flow rather than adding complexity is rare. The standout feature for me is the Master Account and Subaccount structure. It provides a level of organization and oversight that I couldn't find with traditional banking or other fintech platforms. Beyond the tech, their customer service is top-tier—always responsive and genuinely helpful. I’ve also been impressed by their development cycle; they actually listen to feedback and are consistently rolling out new features. Highly recommend for any business looking to professionalize their back-office operations.

Zero-fee ACH payments. The integration with QuickBooks is very simple and automated, and I like having reminders built in. I also appreciate being able to control whether the client pays the card fees or not. The card-on-file and ACH-on-file features are super helpful as well.

I find Nickel easy to use and filter, which makes it simpler to streamline payments to our subcontractors. It helps me easily find which subcontractors have pending payments and provides visibility to both pending and previous payments. The initial setup was easy too.

**What do you dislike about Nickel?**

I wish the direct deposit was same day. Our subcontractors are dependent on the payments, and we are only paying them when we have the funds so the more instant the better for us and them.

Nickel streamlines how we pay subcontractors. It's easy to use and filter, letting me easily see pending and past payments, which improves payment visibility.

- With our current workflow, we have to create invoices in QuickBooks and sync them to Nickel, so the two-step process is a little annoying
 - No ability to change the customer contact after the invoice is initially sent, for example if the client asks for an invoice to be sent to a different email address.

We initially chose Nickel so we could offer a credit card as a payment option if customers were willing to pay the processing fee. It also has a nice interface for quickly seeing unpaid invoices and sending reminders.

**What do you like best about Nickel?**

Their customer service and how open they are to new features and to improving their system based on each client's needs. It has been amazing working with them. All the problems I've had, they resolved them, and if I need help or if I have questions about anything, they are always there to assist.

On the other hand, their system is easy to understand, is awesome working with a platform that can connect with QuickBooks, and where we can manage everything without trouble.

When I first started working with them, I had a couple of things that were a challenge for me, as soon as I shared with them this, they started to work on it to fix and improve what I needed. They are prepared to grow, and all these challenges are just a way for them to keep getting better.

**What problems is Nickel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They already updated the system for AR, this way when I have to charge multiple invoices to a client, I don't have to click them one by one, instead I can select them all and charge the client. Also, I need the same feature for our clients, so when they client opens the link to submit the payments, they can select multiple invoices and pay them, instead of paying them one by one. 
We are working to see if we can integrate them with our shipping system. This feature will make ur company trustworthy and awesome for new clients to come.

Although it can take up to five days for payments to appear in my account, I don't mind since that account doesn't earn interest. As long as I know the payments are coming through, the timing works for me. I appreciate Nickel's communication—they send emails when payments are received, processed, and when I can expect the funds in my account. I believe payments are processed more quickly if you opt for the monthly fee, but for my needs, the free option is sufficient.

I wish there were a mid-level subscription tier in the $10-15 per month range that included a few additional features. I’d be willing to pay for the option to set up recurring invoices, but at the moment, I have to manually create a new invoice each month for every tenant. We were happy with our former payment portal, Melio, but they changed their pricing structure and instantly alienated us.  After an extensive search, we settled on Nickel and couldn't be happier.  Initially the platform wasn't an exact 1-to-1 replacement for Melio's functionality, but there are regular improvements and Ray is always excited to hear feedback on how Nickel can be improved.  The core tier currently meets our needs, but the paid tiers offer some great advancements that we are considering utilizing in the future.  

The UI is easy to understand and navigate.  The integration with QuickBooks Online is easy to set up, quick, and seamless.  You can tell they take great pride in their platform and forming it to satisfy the needs of their users.  I am excited to see what improvements are coming in the future!

**What do you dislike about Nickel?**

We primarily use ACH payments and there is some variance between how long it takes to complete.  The platform says 2-3 business days, but we have seen anywhere between 2-5 days.  I assume this isn't 100% in control of Nickel as there are multiple institutions involved.  But if we could reliably tell our vendors when they will see their deposits hit their accounts, it would save us some headaches.  This isn't a problem unique to Nickel though as we have seen it with other payment platforms as well.

We break up some of our larger transactions into multiple payments because we are limited to $25k/transaction with our current tier.  I would love to be able to submit this as a single transaction, and know we can do so at the higher tiers.

We were glad to hear about the recently implemented batch transactions; however, its implementation of still paying each invoice separately didn't work well for our process as we need a single payment to go to each vendor if multiple invoices are paid in the batch.  We get around this by creating a new invoice with the total amount we want to pay and put the invoice numbers in the note so our vendor knows how to process the remittance.  It would be great if Nickel supported this without us having to go thru the additional steps.

Nickel doesn't take into account any open credits on a vendors so without some double checking, it would be easy to overpay with that actual open balance is.

Easily submit ACH payments to our vendors and 1099 contractors.  Occasionally receiving payments from our customers.  The Quickbooks Online integration is a must!

**What do you like best about Nickel?**

I really appreciate that Nickel does not charge us anything to receive ACH payments online, making it cost-effective for our rental transactions. The ability to receive these rent payments for free is a significant advantage. Additionally, setting up the service was both easy and quick, facilitating a seamless start for our operations. Sending payment links to tenants is straightforward, adding to the overall ease of use. The customer service support during the initial setup was also helpful, ensuring that everything was up and running smoothly. This combination of free payment processing, user-friendly setup, and helpful customer support makes Nickel an excellent choice for managing rent payments efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Nickel?**

I think it would be beneficial to have a lower rate premium subscription option for businesses that do not use the features very often.

**What problems is Nickel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Nickel to receive rent payments seamlessly. It allows receiving ACH payments for free, providing a cost-effective solution, and is easy to set up, improving tenant payment processes, unlike Zelle, which had issues with transaction completion.
